Well, we hope we win

If your kid ain't happy where he's at, TRANSFER!! It is amazing that this is the current mentality that permeates our scholastic society. I understand that there are occasions that might require transfers, but kid ain't happy. Work hard and make it better. Learn to cope with issues and grow into a societal functioning adult, not a burden.

We can all agree to disagree but the bickering is making this a not enjoyable endeavor.....

I will attempt to put in my two cents on several of the statements that have been made. The municipal school districts in Shelby county have their coaches do all field work. I believe the lack of motivation to maintain fields by coaching staffs is one of the reasons for no on campus facilities. Is racism a factor, I am not saying yes or no but expense in maintenance is a factor. We spend over 100,000$ a year on our fields. Staff turnover is another issue about high school fields. White Station does not have a field and it was predominately white along with Ridgeway. Additionally, there may have been a point in time when some of the older inner-city schools had football fields but that land was sold or repurposed by the district at some point. At this point to buy land to build fields might not be financially feasible. I can say Collierville has not reported anyone for violations. If we did it would be Houston Boy's and Girl's basketball, and maybe Golf.....

Arlington will be out for revenge. We caught them last year right after they had lost several defensive linemen. We moved the ball last year. This year we are weaker in the offensive line but have returning skill players that allow for a little more consistency on our part. This will be a great high school game to watch I believe. Arlington is known for chop blocking and it is amazing they do not get called for it very often.

The Dragons will have to control the line of scrimmage defensively to win the game. They will move the ball on offense but have had too many different combinations up front to win consistently. Pressure on the Arlington QB will be paramount.

Basically, I thought Cordova had the best offensive line I saw all of last year. Athletes that came off the ball. Defensively they are strong up front and have speed running to the ball behind division one defensive linemen. Collierville will have to execute perfectly and win the game on special teams with a couple of blocked kicks and not kicking to Cordova's return people. Athleticism probably wins game by 20.......

Yelp, the admin did the right thing. There was no excuse for the error. Procedures have to be followed. Due to change in my job first time in 12 years I didn't do the eligibility. It is a blast not having to worry about everything.

The problem with this premise is that the TSSAA does not recognize feeder schools. Is 8th graders are in your building they are your students. If they attend at a different location, even in the same town and is the only school there, they can still choose to attend a different high school despite the transportation issue.

I believe as long as you have personal property in residence A, that is still your primary address and you should not be eligible at 2nd school. As Razoredge said we would not allow you to play basketball at our school if you did the first move. DM

David looking at this it seems you have to play more games. at least 3 possibly 5....during finals and exams and graduations.......logistical nightmare.....i bet the coaches like it because they are out of school and it eliminates one bad game to ending a season. It does require more depth in pitching. We saw a kid last week throw 145 pitches against us in a 16-0 loss. We batted twice. He threw the next night 8 innings and had 15 walks in a 28-25 win. At the time I asked our pitching coach is there any guidelines for innings and he said, 10 innings in two consecutive days. Hope to get to talk with you at state. DM
