  1. Seriously It was weird. The official threw the flag and we got 15 yards, but guys are supposed to get ejected for doing that stuff. You are not ejected for 1 UC (Unsportsmanlike Conduct) penalty in high school football unless the ref sees it as a very severe infraction. He was given the penalty and warned that 1 more would result in ejection. That is the way it is typically handled.
  2. We are not big, and we are definitely not fast! We just play hard until the whistle is blown. SP will come in as the huge favorite and rightfully so, such tradition speaks for itself. UC will have to play flawless to win but nothing is impossible in big games. Congrats to both teams for making it this far and only the players can play the game on Friday. In the end, it will come down to who wants it more.
  3. Came close last week with prediction of 45-14...I will go with the tornadoes in this one. Should be a dog fight. Classic West TN football! Union City - 33 Huntingdon - 28 Good luck to both teams and may the winner represent West TN well!
  4. South Fulton will score this time... But UC will not let up on the gas as they head into a week 3 revenge game. First things first, UC will make a statement to the rest of 1A this week. UC - 45 SF - 14 Go Tornadoes!
  5. Having played for the Rebels for 4 years, I can honestly say that I bled red, white, and blue so please don't think your writing to someone who only sees purple and gold. If you were so congratulatory to the Tornadoes, why were there so many innuendos in your post. You complain about worley, the opposing coach not playing the big players(which is absolutely hilarious considering that was probably the first time you had ever seen Trigg play), and Union City having trouble with Huntingdon. And NO I didnt miss the post following yours. I think steven would agree that Worley was not underutilized The term underutilized insinuates that there is a better to be had. That was my point in saying that underutilized was completely unnecessary in light of a 40 point victory. The problem with this county is people like you. Adults create this UC vs. OC rivalry that is absolutely stupid. Instead of helping each other (which could be beneficial to both teams), adults dictate what their children will feel and aggravate feelings of hatred for no reason. The UC v. OC game makes absolutely no difference. Let it go and be happy for UC as UC fans should do for OC. Did you even play football or are you just some disgruntled fan?
  6. Sounds like someone has a little dismay for the UC coach. How can you claim a man is underutilized when his team wins by 40 points? He will be used when needed. If you had paid ATTENTION to the game, you would have seen that UC used several different formations to possibly have other teams on a "wild goose chase." Congrats to the Rebels on their win. Now please stay on their forum if you don't have kinds words to say about a coach and players that won by 40 points. Thanks
  7. Hopefully it will give Gibson an advantage. But eventually teams begin to catch on. I understand how the system works as I played under it for two years. Dyer County did have success with it and Halls was decent, though I might not agree that they had "good success". However, I dont want you to misunderstand that I wish all the best for Gibson but sometimes success comes down to hard work and discipline.
  8. Gibson coaches should ask Tommy Tuberville how the Tony Franklin system works! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> It is a good system but high school football is being overrun with wide open passing offenses. Dyer County has actually had relative success running the system. However, there is simply no substitute for hard work and discipline.
  9. Tab Vowell had been at North Side for several years. Coach Massey was forced to step down and Coach Vowell took over the reigns for the spring to see if he wanted the job. He was calling all the shots during the scrimmage. I don't know where you got your info but he has been there for several years. Admittedly, they(NS) were not a great team but size and speed wise, they were much bigger and faster. It was a good showing for UC who will be more of a 7-3 or 8-2 team that could possibly be playing in Murfreesboro in December. However, UC shouldn't get excited yet because there is still alot of work to be done. Good luck guys. Stay focused and do work. OC should get that elusive win this year as the schedule proves to be a little lower on the difficulty level. Good luck to those guys, they need some reward for their hard work. A program seems to be building as I was extremely pleased to see coach Jackson stay.
  10. How is the transfer illegal? Granting your accusation as true, why was the team not reprimanded for its supposed illegal actions? Being as the girls were undefeated, won the state championship and were not eliminated during the regionals (like the rebels), the spotlight was obviously centered around the lady pioneers. If the move was so cut and dry illegal, why have they not been stripped of the gold ball. The only logical explanation seems to be that those in power see the move as permissible. You seem to be a disgruntled fan. Maybe you should realize these KIDS you so adamantly demoralize are just that, KIDS! If you would like to discuss this matter further, I encourage you to contact me or any other individual close to the matter. Thanks for your less-than-insightful comments, and please do us all a favor and keep you negativity to yourself. Congratulations Lady Pioneers on a wonderful season./smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  11. I appreciate all the kind words you wrote about Aubrey. After being so close to the family, I have seen "sides to the story" that no one could imagine. As anyone would in my situation, I am only looking out for Aubrey as a good friend. Also as imagined, I hate to see her upset when emotions start flying like they did Friday night. If I wrongly accused you, then please accept my apologies. I guess emotions can cloud one's reason on occasion. I have always considered Steven to be a good friend of mine and I know he would have reacted the same way had he felt someone was questioning the decision that was made to move Shawn (who by the way stepped up big in the game on Sat). Once again I am sorry as I misunderstood the meanings of your posts. Go Tornadoes, Pioneers, and Rebels!!!!
  12. Look ...I Know from the "horsEs" mouth that some dirty thiNgs were said after the game!! aNd Yes OC did show some class because some of the players TOLD the student section to not make things harder on Aubrey than they already were. If you have some type of vendetta against Aubrey, who is a junior in HIGH SCHOOL, maybe you should take it up with her parents. Otherwise, please quit referring to her as leaving her team, like she is some sort of NBA player asking for a trade.
  13. It is true about #54 making cheap shots. There was one instance where he kicked a player in the face while he was on the field. Things are turning around for the OC bunch tho. A much improved squad took the field this year for the rebels and its only a matter of time before the few "rotten apples" are weeded out. Keep with it guys. I do have to disagree with the implications of all the talk about 70 or 80 kids being a good sign for the football team. While that shows interest in football, most (not all) of the good teams that have gone through OC in previous years had a relatively small number of players, and definitely not 80! Too many players can be a distraction. But Coach Jackson has time to weed out the "rotten apples" and expect a decent year next year. Good luck guys and wish this wasn't the last year to see the UC-OC game!! /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
  14. Not If they play a relaxed man d like they did against McKenzie!!! The D did look better tho, from the stands it seemed to look like they had the old "11 players to the ball" mentality. Whether that carries over to this week remains to be seen. I predict a slow first half with a high scoring, edge of your seat, nail-biter in the second half. I can remember waiting in the locker room to play UC when I was in school. It will be the funnest game of the year for both teams, (barring either one play in the state championship game). Its hard to pick against my alma mater so I say it ends in a tie and both teams walk away content. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  15. I'll go with the upset special...a hungry OC bunch will take their first win in 14 tries by a margin of 7-10 points. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  16. I totally agree...if the offense can gel and learn the assignments, it is VERY DIFFICULT to stop it.
  17. Actually...It's sad because rumor has it that Coach Hill and Coach Jones are no longer coaching together. I believe they had a parting of the ways, which is a very sad thing to hear because they seemed to be flawless together (as far as coaching is concerned)
  18. What an idiot!!! You must know nothing about college football and how difficult it is to stay at one school. ANYWAY, Coach Jackson seems to be a great hire, similar to Coach Hill, but college experience is GREAT. Even if OC only gets a couple of years out of him, I am sure he will turn the program into a class act. Good Luck Coach and GO REBS!!!
  19. Good Post!!! (Except we went to the playoffs in '01 vs. Rigdeway, '02 vs. Kingsbury, and '03 vs. Kingsbury)
  20. Unofficial but i think its over: OC - 36 Milan - 48
