  1. I know several officials that have never coached....
  2. CBHS looks to be doing well in the consolation brackets this morning. Anyone have updated team scores?
  3. Shoulda coulda woulda... fact of the matter is that this time of the year it can always come down to one match, and if that match doesn't go your way... you lose. I wasn't there personally but from what I gather it was a great duel. Why not chalk it up to that and give a little credit to the team that did enough to WIN on a day thats important to achieving a teams overall goal?
  4. Very exciting match to set up an intriguing purple on purple final! Thanks for all of the updates guys!
  5. any update on CBHS and Baylor first round matches dca?
  6. SBA must be there. Lamer is in the finals at 195.
  7. Sort of... They appear to be having trouble with the feed. Keeps cutting in and out.
  8. Given their track record this season... I think its fair to say that CBHS would stack up just fine
  9. Congratulations to the Brothers on another region title!
  10. Though SBA has some talented individuals in their lineup which should make for interesting matches this evening, my money is on the team that has won the last 12 region titles.
  11. Thanks for the clarification ghouse.
  12. According to this week's TWF rankings Hoodenpyle of McCallie went 1-1 at the GPW and got second at 182. I haven't been able to bring up the brackets to take a look at them. I was wondering if the weight class was thin enough for 1 win to be enough for a finals birth. I find that hard to believe with the amount of teams that attended the tournament.
  13. The longest career win streak out of CBHS was a Marable but it doesnt hit the century mark. Nick leads the way with 77.
  14. Do you know if it is available online? In case some of us from outside the Chatt area would like to listen
  15. Seconded. This is exactly how terrible, inaccurate rumors are started.
  16. Looks like CBHS will be doing their best Jeffersons impression as they move on up the national rankings. Congratulations to Coach Lewis and company. According to the InterMat Fab50 Blue Springs has also moved up from #31 to #30. Does anyone know what factors are taken into account when ranking high school teams? Just curious as to why CBHS would remain 10 spots behind Blue Springs after beating them in a dual.
  17. Thats an accurate estimation if I have ever heard one. Leave it to ghouse to take it down to the 100th of a mile. Always an agent of specificity
  18. Congratulations to Christian Brothers and Coach Lewis. This is a huge accomplishment and one that is not only good for the school but for the state as it helps build the reputation for TN wrestling. It would be really cool to see multiple teams from TN, like those mentioned above, earn national rankings at the same time. Hard work pays off!!
  19. I went to a private "D2" high school and have been out of that school for several years now. I can tell you that we did not have any of those extra benefits you are talking about. My school still has the mats that they had before and while I was there, we paid for our sweats, shorts, shirts, etc. We bought our own headgear, shoes, knee pads, and whatever else we needed. The school provided us with our 2 singlets that we returned at the end of the year for the use of next year's team. We did fundraisers, just like everyone else does, to help aid our wrestling budget. D2 schools have restrictions on the amount that they can travel per season. It's not about haveing extra money to travel to tournaments, its about scheduling the best competition that you are able to and doing so as frequently as possible.
  20. Congrats to the Brothers for a great showing at a very tough tournament. It is no secret that to keep improving you have to seek out the best possible competition. I think Coach Lewis has always done a good job of that; but adding this tournament the past couple of years has definatly upped the difficulty of their schedule. I'm glad to see that they are not only attending this tournament but competing there with some of the top teams from around the country.
