I read the article about Coach Woods leaving Morristown and thought that Maryville lost 4 games in 2000. I don't think Morristown West is the only team to beat Maryville since the turn of the century! In fact I think the Red Devils is the last team to beat Maryville in a region game.

That is what happens when you are not disciplined. Your butt gets into trouble and it winds up effecting an entire team or organization. Guess they were keepin' it in the family!

Didn't 2A use the Z plan this past fall? Why don't you ask them how well they liked the plan?

Better check his history at Stuart Co. and South doyle and find out WHY HE LEFT THOSE TWO PLACES. 2 bits, 4 bits, 6 bits, a dollar...don't let him go there!!!

I have no clue about all of this rural/urban BS that the T$$AA is trying to pass around. I would naturally guess that by going with an urban school championship means that AUSTIN EAST would have a better chance to win the state GOLF championship than they would have if no changes were made.

ZCAR, I think you might be talking about Cumberland University in Middle Tenn. Cumberland College changed there name to College of the Cumberlands, I think. Wasn't there another big OL that went to Cumberland either with Cox or just before. I think Reese and Fergueson went there to, but Ferg came home the next day. He couldn't take being away from mom and dad.

fairplay2121, So many questions...her goes, 1) nothing new on the field house - I'm worried about it raining and flooding, 2) No news that I've heard on the Gibbs job, 3) Prolly doesn't make any difference when you play them. I just am not a big lover of having an open date week #9, now if it was in the middle of the season, I'll take it everytime. Hit the weights hard boys and get ready for a great 2008 season. The only real test is Maryville that I can see. We should be able to win every game 'cept Maryville.

I too have often wondered why football has 5 classes and basketball only has 3. There are about 330 football playing schools in TN and over 370 basketball playing schools in TN. Why not have 5 classes for the publics and two for the privates in every sport? Just wondering, not trying to start a public-private gripe session.

oneup, We haven't even started practice yet and here you go blasting the coaching staff. If you can hit you will play. If you can play defense and hit then you will play. I promise you the nugget will put the players in the right position. Its up to them, the players, to make the plays! You son must not be in the starting lineup or else he got benched last year and now you grew a set over the summer, fall and early winter so you say soemthing now.

Better get there early for this one.

I figured I would write it in Ebonics since you probably wouldn't understand plain English.. Since you brought up the Morristown West games, why don't you play them anymore? I am surprised you don't play Greenback, aren't they in your county?

For years they have had the greatest schedule. Now when they get into 5A, there butts will be travelling just like the rest of the world does. They have never played anyone outside of Blount Co in a non-region game, if my memory is correct. The farthest they have to travel for a reg. season game is to Clinton. When they get into 5A they will be on the road week after week. They scrimmage DB and OR but playing them instead of scrimmaging MIGHT BE DIFFERENT. Same with SDHS (and that aint South Doyle) and OHS and Farragut.

Here is the bet: after Maryville wins another title in '08 (possibly), they will be moved into 5A. Now the empire starts to crumble. They will not win a 5A title for 5 years!

The way this man acted at South Doyle he should have been at Brushy Mt. Prison. Can not speak without a vulgar word coming from his mouth. Got fired cause he hit a kid during practice.

Ole Dad, You know GQ ain't wanting to be away from the wife and kids as much as college coaches are. Either the Great Pumpkin didn't offer him the job OR he didn't except it. Either way he is still at Maryville where he can come and go with a lot more freedom than he would have at UT. My bet is he wasn't offered the job. Now before you get all upset off think about this...on the road recruiting in the fall, winter and spring. Many more hours in the office than he puts in at Maryville. Being offered the postion of: THE TIGHT END COACH, whoopty poop. Considering THE TE plays maybe 25 plays in a game. GQ is right where he needs to be! And that ain't a bad place to be.

What the heck is taking so long? Name a coach and let him start working with his poetntial players. No wonder Coach Carroll didn't have much of a chance to win - no administrative help. Another question, isn't the AD at Gibbs the same guy that hired the crazy man at South Doyle? If he is, we all know this is going to be a tough time for Gibbs.
