  1. If high school students (both public & private) act like a fool or say something very stupid you can bet your sweet cheeks that they got their behavior from home. Go to their house and knock on the front door and there is a good chance that the person that answers the door will act like a fool or say something stupid.
  2. Did she wear her 6" heals when you took her out? What color was her wig?
  3. Metro Davidson County schools are open zoned if you take a class that is not offered at your zoned school. All of the schools offer a class that the other high schools do not so that kids may attend the school of their choice. The only problem is that kids have to provide their own transportation.
  4. That's great, I had no idea that Kelly Felix won the USA Wrestling Junior Nationals in Fargo, ND this past Summer. Is he the first wrestler from Tennessee to win the USA Wrestling Junior Nationals? By winning that tournament he should be ranked number 1 or 2 in the country this season but I have not seem the rankings. What is he ranked?
  5. How does 2X Tennessee State Champion Coffee get ask to leave one school for discipline reasons and become eligible at another school? It's ok with me but when did the TSSAA start allowing kids to transfer without sitting out a year?
  6. SBA, How bad were the officials? The rumor on the street is that out of town official were far superior but that didn't sit well with the Memphis coaches and Memphis officials because they were not use to how other regions of the state officiate.
  7. Your ideas make perfect since so I am sure the TSSAA would not consider it. Let's be real, what has the TSSAA done for the schools & athletes lately other than take their money?
  8. You may want to try DeLaSalle from Concord, CA. The deal that they had with South Lake fell through at the last moment.
  9. These are some serious questions: Does the TSSAA and its member schools have enough money to fight a total split? Do they even have enough money to pay off Brentwood Academy? I have heard that many of the D2 schools would like to see a today split so that they have less trouble with schedules and travel, what do you know about this? Which group would the National Federation align themselves with? Is it true that the National Federation will on accept membership from one association in each state? With the financial situation that the TSSAA is in could they make it without the private schools? I know that is a ton of questions but they are questions that must me answered before the ball starts to roll for a total split.
  10. Ravenwood vs Smyrna (attendance 10,173) Not very good considering that you had a Rutherford County team and a team from Williamson County. This may be a sign of the times and people are not going to support high school football. IMO, the game would have a better draw if it were still played in Nashville @ Vanderbilt.
  11. If the young man turned 18 in November of his Junior year of high school he will be eligible to play next season unless he will have completed 8 semester of high school at the end of his junior year. The rule is that an individual may not turn 19 before August 1 or Sept 1 (It seems like the National Federation rule changed a few year ago & I am too lazy to look it up)s to be eligible. For some reason kid that live in California and the Southern states are younger (17 or have just turned 18) when the graduate while kids from the New England states seem to be a year (18 & turning 19) older when the graduate.
  12. If it still seems unfair just vote to place everyone back together and use the merit system. That is if you want to be fair.
  13. The TSSAA released the attendance figures for the D1 A (just over 2500) game and the D1 AA (just over 2000) game with Goodpasture vs Alcoa. Its no wonder that the TSSAA is not making any money with those figures. Do people just not travel to watch their team play for a state championship?
  14. Soms, I have seen both of those young men wrestle and they both should be very good in the furture. However, by ranking them this early (it's not like they are USA Wrestling Cadet National Champions) you are only placing undue pressure on the young men before they prove their worth on the mat. Not to mention the fact that some "jacked up returning state champion" will now try kill them. Those two young men now have a bounty placed on their head and all of the upper classmen are standing in line for the opportunity to put them into Vanderbilt Childrens Hospital. There is a big difference between wrestling 103 as a freshmen and going 189.
  15. What is wrong with Ensworth? In the past they had some very good middle school teams. They don't seem to be making progress in wrestling like they are in other sports.
  16. This topic has been discussed many times before and it's not going to happen. Most teams don't wish to get outside of their comfort zone and take the test of just how good they are.
  17. Do we have any Tennessee teams traveling out of state to wrestle in one of the top high school tournaments? Example: Beast of the East, Reno Tournament of Champions, 5 Counties, etc...
  18. For your second post you sure are showing your backside!
  19. Who is running the football team at DB, the athletic director & coaching staff or a group of alumni and fans that wouldn't know a football from the UFC?
  20. Is there any chance that the decision making folks over on Lebanon Road in Hermitage will take a close look at the Merit System? IMO, we will not see the TSSAA do anything until after the BA case is settled. I can't beleive that the TSSAA is going to continue the fight after they lost in the US Supreme Court, but I guess they had no choice but to spend some more the the tax payers money. The schools need to ban together and pass a rule that the Board of Control has to pay for any financial losses due to legal bills out of their personal checking & savings accounts. The Board of Control should spend the money as if it were their own dollars and sometimes we all must cut bait and get on with our life.
  21. What are the top 10 teams (everyone together no D1 or D2) and the top 4 individuals in each weight classificaton. Keep the D1 & D2 out of the rankings.
  22. With their great facilities & tradition my guess is the honeymoon is over for the 1st year coach. Let's not forget that the former Apopka, FL coach didn't last long @ Valdosta but when you make $100,000.00 per season to coach high school football people demand that you win championships.
  23. Weak Schedule!!!!!! This takes place every season with the DB fans talking about how good their team is but they never get out of East Tennessee much less face the good Middle Tennessee teams. If DB is to ever win a state championship they must upgrade their non region schedule. What happened to the game they used to schedule against MBA? Take a look at Ravenwood's non region schedule, can we say tough?
  24. While I have not seen all of the high school athletic facilities in Tennessee, I have seen quite a few and no one has what I would refer to a great facilities when compared to what is in some other states. Take a look at what Valdosta High School in Georgia has and you will really be shocked.
