how is harden valley doing this year? i heard they stole a good coach away from the beavers of karns. also how is karns this year? no word on them at all. i'm a little disappointed to not hear much word on them.

Anything goes in these theard..... i want to hear how guys are doing at the college level, any good stories from some alumi who played in some good games back in their college days, if any of the high schoolers have any questions about recruiting post them (who better to give advice then those who just went through the process), or anything else that has to deal with college...... just thought it might be a good topic...... hey pinball did you guys play against Nouthern kentucky this year? and how did you guys do this season? does anyone know how tarr is doing at south carolina? and i dont' think he was the only one right? any other info would be awesome to hear......

Coach L at union at that time? as for lindsey, i understand they got better as the 90's went on. ever since ray wells took over they have been a power house. they are in our conference and i can not stand ray wells for multiple reasons but that's besides the fact..... i have to give him the fact that he can bring in the talent....

never read anywhere about how much better seymour is this year. only where the kid who scored the game winner in this great game was orginally from. i thought it was an interesting fact. maybe you should relize that there is good soccer being played outside of west knoxville. it's strange to hear how a eastside kid could have an effect in the ultimate west knox match up in a big time game..... There are a couple schools in naia that i know that are probolly still recruiting. TWC is probolly one of them, i know our coach is always recruiting, others that are probolly doing the same union ky, milligan, montreat, bryan, and others. alot of these programs have a reserve squad and if you are able you can make the jump to varsity during the season if you are able to. it's a big jump from varsity high school and varsity college. a reserve squad can help to make this transition. akula when did you play at TWC? and did you ever play against lindsey wilson or union ky when they were really good programs?

Robby did graduated in 03. he might have had the record in 02 or 03 and maybe till this day. i just know that doyle had 31 in 04 (i'm 99% sure) and i do not think robby had more then that. once again i'm not sure. never played at farragut so i can not be sure.

I want to say doyle had 31 goals his senior year followed by jarred who scored 29 (while playing sweeper part of the season). Doyle did the majority of the scoring for the admirals, leading in goals his freshman and senior year and quite possible the other two years as well. pinball, how did your season go? did you guys play northern kentucky university this year? and what do you know about UK? we just played NKU and we get UK this saturday. i heard they were alike so i just wanted to hear from someone who has played them both or might have.

unless Farragut absoultly played different the first 60 min (because i miss that part of the game) then i wouldn't say that ethier team dominated that game. i didn't see very much possestion by ethier team. Now i can recall farragut putting together a little bit better attacks (but not many more scoring oppurtunites), but both teams were stretched out and covered over 80 yards of the field at one point. Both teams played deffensivly at the end of the game and played alot of long balls back and forth to the other team.

oknative, the "ball that did not cross the line" the line the are talking about is the endline before the player crossed it to a player who vollyed it into the net.... does that make it clear? the ball did not go out for a goal kick, but the ref called the goal ball back because he thought it went out before the player crossed it. clear?

I think that it will be an extemely good game and one that i will be kicking myself because i did not get to see it. i hope that both teams show up with there A game and give those who were fortunite enough (and able to pay gas prices /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> )to watch the spring fling. I think that West has some extremely good talent on their team and have players that come off the bench that give them a different weapon to use. I have not got to see jack play and i think it's unfortunite that he will be missing this spring fling but i think this could only be the first of many spring flings for west. Ref2coach, funny thing you mention extremely talented 6'3 keepers, because OR does not just have one of those they have a 6'5 extremely talented keeper too /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> i think that OR is playing as a unit (just as much Defensivly as much offensivly) There keeper can keep them in the game and they play D from all 11 positions and more on the outside (there home feild is big so they force people inside and play well as a unit on big feild and play better on smaller feilds). If Deigo plays then I believe this game could go ethier way. OR has the ability to score goals from what seems like nothing (ask Hville and west). I know nothing about houston except that they have a very rich tradetion in Tennessee soccer, so i have no clue on a prediction, but i'm pulling OR for a 2-1 victory. Good luck to both teams...

Wow congrads OR i can truly say earlier in the season i did not see this one coming. This team is truly impressing me more and more. did they play as a team? i bet they did. they are coming together at the right time.... be aware. Hville might have dominated but a team that gets dominated and finds a way to win can leave a bitter taste in any opponients mouth. I do have to say that this truly makes me sick that a ref makes a miscall on what sounds to be a very nice legit goal.... REFS you have to reward the effort. hville unfortunitly there has to be a winner and it sounds like a ref influnced that decition in just a slit way and it ended your season. i understand about getting the shorter end of the stick (trust me my season was ended earlier then it should have last season due to alot of contreversy involving our conference rival and DIRTY work by a ref in TWO different games). I wish OR luck and hope they continue to turn heads and find ways to win

laughing my butt off.... because this proves you know nothing about me and you just want to attack me. first if you don't know what level i play at and still try to put me down shows me that you are just using ignorance. As for Tanner, once again moneyshot read ALL my post ( because i have post on this topic in different forums). i think he's a good player, just said that he had some nasty habits like he's brother. did i say that he will always have them? no. i said that he could get over them and if he did he will become an amazying player. His brother didn't and that's why he sat the bench towards the end of his career with the impact 86. I played with and against Luke since we were 12. he had alot of potential but let things over take him. I really don't see his brother doing the same because of how luke turned out. I could see Tanner staying more focused (and trust me i hope this happens). I love hearing of success that the knoxville TALANT is having and i wish more for Tanner and West. I have no dog in any fight, just stating opionons. i will admit that they are a little blunt and straight to the point. sorry i'm not so over complimentive of everything you all do. Remember that you are not playing at the highest level (and nethier am I) and that's what we should try to work for. I've always been good on finding weaknesses (even in my own game) and how to fix them. I have a couple years experience coaching and training both high school and club (not just for one program or person but different programs). I am trying to better my knowledge of the game everyday and i just simple post to get more feedback not to blast people. Good luck to West and Tanner

i am stating that the cheap tactics of the pros and that of tanner is not the same. i don't even know how you could compare a kid who fouls when there is no need to pros who foul when it's neccessary..... plus the pros have the skills to back it up..... not saying that tanner doesn't have skills but if he would work on these habits his skills will come of more use. i watched him closley tonight..... he didn't give up on to many plays and even tract back to steal the ball once or twice. he got shoved more then he was shoved. Do you know how you take skills away? you play agressive and foul them........ at the college level everyone can do what tanner is doing. he just resorts to physical play rather then skills just like tonight science hill resorted to physical play rather then skills. In high school physical play can overcome skills.... not in college because EVERYONE has skills and is physical. Not saying i dont like physical play but there is a difference between that and what tanner does. to compare what he does to pros or that of witch the habits that these pros had is nuts....

you can not compare u.s. high school players to pros.... the "cheap" tactics that they use are part of the game. the cheap habits that tanner has is shoving, hacking, and alot of queiting of the ball when lost.... if you call that a will to win then i guess high school soccer went street

Moneyshot.... who i play for does not matter on a high school board because i no longer play high school, i am futhering my career and playing college soccer now. all you need to know is that my opionon no longer matters to anyone but me. I just usually read the boards to keep up because i am away at school (not now because of summer break!!!!!). I admit that i found some flaws both teams had and if you think that is bashing then so be it. Trust me everything i said was true. I was a little disappointed that these two teams that i had heard so much about their attacking abilities decided to sit back. the first touch was really bad (i wasn't the only to state that). but if you read in other threads i have complemented and given some creadit where it is due.

Not to bash tanner... but he plays alot like his brother, both being alittle dirty. I watched him shove several players when he relized he wasn't winning the ball. he quiet on the ball WAY TO MANY TIMES. ALOT OF STANDING. He did make two EXCELLENT runs (both leading to his two goals). I can not tell you how impressed i was on the first goal. the only word i can think to describe it would be NASTY. He broke off a deffender that was dragging him down and beat the keeper on a nice plassed ball. If he does what his brother does and keeps the nasty habits then he will go no where fast, but this kid has potential. By no means would i ever take him over a senior who sounds to be a well developed player. i haven't watched the kid and can tell you i would take him over tanner. Once again he has some habits that as a coach i would not tolerate. ONCE again i say that i hope this kid changes these habits because i've seen him do some very impressive things.

I know nothing about sullivan south or science hill..... but i can tell you that they are facing two talented teams. OR i fell is peaking at the right time and can play anyone in the state (with diego there chances are better). They Have a very unique style of play that i have seen them playing for years (like that of when matt blair, travioliny, and taylor tompson played there). yes like the team that played farragut in the state finals of 04. They are playing like a team. With the exception of diego.... no one stands out and they all do there job. they function like one and it's kinda neat to watch them at times and then when diego steps on to the pitch he changes the game for them. If he could continue to be a game changer but be able to connect with his teammates alittle more, he would be sick and almost unstopable. They have talent and play with no cockyness. I hope to see this team go far and make some more heads turn... West i will get to see tomm night and i hope to see an attacking highlight from those i have heard alot about this season.

OR keeper assessment?

I admit that i was quick to judge where as i said that was the only west game i saw all year and farragut as well. Both farragut and west seat back alot in the last 20 min of regulation and i saw no midfeild play during this time. Nethier team wanted to posses. There was 40 yards of open space where only one player on the feild was standing and it was the middle. Both teams played long balls to the other team. with the exseption of a few passes to the outside for farragut. To much defence for what i thought was suppose to be offinsive teams. May i say though that BOTH overtime goals by west were BEAUTIFUL and i loved every moment of it. i was pulling for west and i thought they deserved those goals. The thing that upset me the most was the first touch by both teams.... it was aweful. with better first touches this game would have been better. the ball was bouncing around the feild like a pingpong ball. No control. NOW remember, i only watched that last 20 min of regulation and overtimes. i think these were the most important parts of the game. Possesion and first touch could have been better before i got there but i don't know. for the movement comment i just thought that west did not move off the ball. period... what parts of the game i saw every west player was standing untill the ball moved. not the defenders though. they marked and did there job VERY well. i was HIGHLY impressed with #3. what year is he? oh and tell micheal williams that he did an excellent job. he is a talented player. he went to brazil with us two years ago..... i look forward to seeing how this kid turns out.. Now as for you guys playing as individuals. Never said that was a bad thing just said that home feild advantage goes to oak ridge. I've watched them twice so i have had a better time to see how they play. one of those games being the beating of my beavers in the semi's. Apparently you over came my judgements and won... congrads. Keep on winning and trust me i understand that fatigue can come easily at this point of the season. If i have offended you just remember that i only made those judgements as they were my opionion and some were based on watching you only once. by the way how did the game go? i never heard an assisment.... oh another thing winner. my opionon means nothing. i never played in a region finals and you my friend have won one.
