  1. You folks have a long ride to Tellico..... I bet very few actually show up.
  2. Class group of coaches at Howard. They could have hung triple digits on them even with the clock running.
  3. Loudon by a couple touchdowns. And I hope Coach Martin has addressed the low hits in the knee issue. The video I saw of the Red Bank game was not indicative of a Coach Martin team.
  4. I have never seen a Sequoyah team this bad, and I have seen them all.
  5. Basin is a quality team this year, a lot of respect for them. Central made several mistakes but the team played hard for 4 quarters plus overtime for the first time this year. Good luck to Basin next week.
  6. Central hasn't come close to a complete game yet. McMinn, Red Bank, Meigs, and Loudon were just much better teams, all still undefeated. Sweetwater loss was due to mistakes, player for player, Central matched up with Sweetwater. The second half against Polk was the best Central has played, and blew the game open. The potential is there to win out but it is up to the players to give max effort and not make critical turnovers and mistakes. Like 5 fumbles inside the 10 yard line....
  7. Basin has the best team I have seen up there in years. QB and running back are quality players. The Chargers will have to be at their best Friday night for sure.
  8. It is Central fans... not etowah as you keep gouging... Times are tough right now and really nothing to discuss. Meigs has a fine team and a little humility would be welcomed... but alas, it is Meigs, Dayton, Bledsoe Co, Bradley Co, McMinn Co and wherever else you got players from so I don't really expect any of that at all.
  9. That statement must be from a previous year's player, because that is not the case with this coach. I can assure you that is not Coach Davis's philosophy. I was around his program before and I can assure you he embraces a strong weight program.
  10. Not naming kids but the lineup has constantly been changed due to nagging injuries the past few games. And I don't know how you can say this schedule is easier when you see the records the opponents have that Central has played so far. Coming up, Copper Basin has only one loss right now. Brainerd has struggled against a strong schedule and Signal is down a little with a 2-4 record. Coach Davis wants the team to have some fight like they played with early in the season. Since Polk Co game, it seems like that level has dropped some... just my observation from the cheap seats. You may be right about the wins but that being said, a 4 win season would be a step forward.
  11. Central has had some key injuries but the downfall has been lack of concentration and old habits creeping back in when the going gets tough. So far the cumulative records of the loses are 20-1 with another undefeated team in Loudon up next. Hard to change some attitudes with this schedule!
  12. I came over here to read up on So Pitt and Red Bank... all I see is about Greenback. Man, you So Pitt folks must still be butt hurt from last year.
  13. Where is this place? I am feeling a little..... thirsty... yea that's it, thirsty!
  14. Red Bank has a lot of weapons on offense and a really sound defense. They will handle So Pitt next week due to line play in my opinion..
  15. Tough one to lose for the Chargers. They have to stop beating themselves. A defensive bust cost the first touchdown and had the momentum taking the ball on a 97 yard drive and fumbled crossing the goal line. Sweetwater was well prepared by Coach Martin and made the fewest mistakes.
  16. Hats off to a tough Tellico team. Central had it inside the 20 three other times and didn't score. They can't keep making the same mistakes going forward. But it was a good win and a good beginning for the Derrick Davis era. Thanks Coach for taking a chance on the Chargers!
  17. Wouldn't it be nice to have a game discussion without the kindergarten kids from down south chiming in? Roy's patter was old 10 years ago..... please talk like and adult....
  18. The excitement has definitely increased and the work ethic has too on this team. But, being realistic.... McMinn Co (6A) is a reach, Meigs is a beast, Red Bank returns several from a very good team last year and Loudon is going to be potent this year. That's 4 very difficult wins right off the top. The rest are winnable if key injuries don't hit this team. Just my humble opinion on what I am hearing from a few connected to the program. Go Blue!
  19. Hate to hear about the running back. Didn't he play LB on defense too?
  20. How is the team doing this year with the coaching change. We used to hear from the Wildcats fans all the time.
  21. This one will be interesting. Central is having to learn new schemes on both sides of the ball. Coach D has always demanded effort and eliminating mental mistakes, this will be the main focal point in this scrimmage. Good luck and play hard Chargers....
  22. I really hope Coach Vestal stays.... with Coach Davis running the defense I think Coach Vestal could do great with the offense, especially if they can coax the "Legend" to join this group. There is potential to have the best staff in several years working together.
  23. We will just agree to disagree on this one.... I remember when you were there, and understand why you feel like you do.
  24. I have been around Central Sports for a long long time. Revenues that are generated by the system are spread very evenly. Central is a school of booster clubs and you can't compare what each of these clubs do for their individual sport. The A D is not in charge of those funds at all, not his fault if it appears to some one sport is treated better than others. I have known every A D that has been there from the beginning and none did it better than Coach Armstrong. Just my humble opinion....
