  1. Food for thought to help you make your prediction Oakland 31 - 13 over Madison Ridge Academy (MRA) Pulaski Academy 63-39 over MRA Lipscomb Academy 64-28 over Pulaski Academy so, I think LA can score, but I will say Oakland by 7
  2. Now into the Regionals with George Quarles representing TN. Let's win the region (region 3) Vote GQ. http://contest.usatodayhss.com/ Now, Back to your regularly scheduled football banter...
  3. Found more information here.... http://future150.com/hs/basketball-news/2013-10ac-top-20-elite-showcase-standouts-2585
  4. If you go to http://www.trackwrestling1.com/Login.jsp and choose the Knock Out Classic, you can go in as VIEWER and see the weight brackets and results.
  5. Off the subject a little, but I saw some detailed info about Alcoa and Maryville mentioned in this thread, which made me think one of you folks would know about the upcoming schedule. I thought I heard that MBA and Ensworth would be playing Alcoa and Maryville in alternating years. I thought it started this year but I don't see it on any schedules. I don't want to start an "afraid of" campaign, as I don't believe any of these schools are afraid to play the other, just looking for information if it is next year or it is not happening.
  6. Looks like every division has at least one team with a sub .500 record. Don't necessarily think it to reward sub-part teams, but to fill the brackets with a reasonable number of teams. I don't like the bye week for teams either, but if you don't have it does it make for too few games? Personally, I love the playoff games and don't mind adding an extra week to the season.
  7. Does Ensworth or Baylor have a webcast of their football games? If yes, please provide the link. I would like to check this one out.
  8. I watched this one on Television. I thought it was one of the better high school games I have seen in a while. The game was played fast, and I think that is where Ensworth won this one. Fast Ensworth Defense neutralized the fast Offense of BA. BA showed a lot of heart on that last drive, moving down the field very quickly with minimal time remaining. Ensworth made that "one more play" that sealed the deal. I look forward to MBA versus BA to help clarify (or muddy) the picture.
  9. After further research, I am thinking BA will take it handily. I only looked at final stats from game one and didn't realize the fact that the opponents points were against the backups. Looking at the quarter breakdown I see it was 41 to 0 at the half. That is pretty dominating.
  10. BA took a big win last year against Southwind. Will they do it again this year at Southwind's home field. I predict yes, but closer game this year. BA by 10.
  11. Marshall County had a rough year last year, can they pull out the win at their Home this year? This is MC first game and BGA second game. I will pick BGA because they had a good win vs. Franklin. I know Franklin was without some RBs, but still looked like a good effort.
  12. Maplewood had a good win vs Hillsboro last week and MBA beat Pearl-Cohn How does this week look for this game? I think MBA's defense will need to hold the score down for MBA to win. I think this is a pick-em. I will go with MBA because I think the game is at MBA.
  13. From what I can tell, this will be a low scoring affair. Who do you pick and why? Based on last week's games, I see FR by 7-10 points.
  14. When (date/time/location) are some of the next scrimmages for BA,Ensworth,MBA,Ryan? I understand the heat has caused some setbacks, but I would guess they have 1 more scrimmage upcoming. You can feel that the season is fast approaching. Seems like this year most teams are relatively quiet, but I am sure the message boards will soon light up.
  15. I have talked to several people who attended this game and said it was a great game. Most disagree that the first 4th and 1 was a "bad" or even an arrogant call. This was Ensworth's first drive of the 2nd half and Darkwa had played tremendously in the first half. Bowers more than likely thought it was a high percentage call to give the ball to Darkwa for 1 yard. It just didn't work out. In hindsight he may want it back, but being in the 3rd quarter with a good lead, having an emotional home crowd, and with a running back like Darkwa, I also don't see it as a bad call. As for the second go-round, knowing the outcome of the first attempt and the timing in the game, with the change in momentum, it doesn't seem like a good call to go for it. It seemed more like a trick play in the sense that everyone would focus on Darkwa, so they would use him as a decoy. Again, it did not work out. But, who woulda' thought that MBA would drive down the field, use up most of the clock, and score? Ahh, not only is this playoff football, but it is rivalry football. I say congratulations to MBA for what may have been one of their finest halves of football.

  17. Had a chance to stop by the school and look at the new stadium. Looks nice. I understand the restrictions set upon the school by the city, so no need to go into the bleachers only on one side. Still looks nice and the setup has worked in other stadiums. I am curious if temporary bleachers will be allowed? When does FR scrimmage and will any of the scrimmages be on the new field?

  19. The three already have insta-scholarships. So, epic fail on your end. =================== I think that is great. Best of Luck to all three. I looked up German Fernandez and it sounds like he is tearing it up as a Freshman at OK State.
  20. You can get a good feel for times by looking at the results from last year (and looking for underclassmen). TSSAA has previous years listed; boys and girls: http://www.tssaa.org/2007Champions/StateTr...e.htm(2007/2008 school year) Other than that it is hard to tell because not a lot of meets are posted. Then, you are not sure if it is electronic timing or hand-timing. http://www.tssaa.org/2007Champions/StateTrack/home.htm Sorry about the previous link...
  21. TN record book says: 3200 Meter Run 8:46.47 Andrew Bumbalough Brentwood Academy 2004 National Record appears to be: 3,200 Meters: 8:36.3 2-Mile) - 8:46.40 by Luke Puskedra of Judge Memorial Catholic. 8:16 and 8:21 do not seem realistic, but good luck hitting that mark during an official track meet. I would think that time would be an instant scholarship.
