  1. mmmmmm mmmmmmm some ole idiot. i'ze just a wonderin what was a goin on. mmmmmm mmmmmm
  2. ok..bradley never wrestled Blair. Christiana? Have you ever seen Brandon wrestle? Ever counted their all americans? Guys who wrestled in college? You have no idea what you are talking about. You don't know what is takes to coach a team (and i don't mean just single and double legs) much less build and run a PROGRAM. The only thing I am blinded by is that the internet has given "odd" (even though that is MILD compared to what most people refer to you as) people like you a platform to spout mindless drivel, but, like the car wreck, I can't not look to see what kind of stupidity will be next. You have no "fans", only people who dislike you and tire greatly of you clogging up a message board with stupidity. Your points aren't helped by anyone. You just aren't smart enough to see it. The fact that you continue to reply is the best part. I bet you 5 bucks you'll reply to this. However, if you do or not I won't, nor will i listen to you in person. I'm breaking your plate.
  3. Soms, you are my new hero. this is great. i am curious how long you will go to get the last word. Your knowledge of wrestling on the grand scale is funny. More challenging? You ever heard of the Virginia Duals? More fun? for who? you? Well I'm sure everyone involved will sleep better now that you are going to have more fun. tag.....you're it
  4. Pay attention Soms........Bradley wrestled Baylor many times. Before the split and after (Didn't the Big Red attend the Bradley tournament for a good many years?)They wrestled Ryan on at least one occasion I can think of off hand and I'm sure there were many more. (CBHS dual tournament). I suggest you wander more than you wonder.
  5. Case & Point... At one time BC could have a down year with 8 medalists graduating and by seasons end Mr. Logsdon would have a top 1st or 2nd finish (usually 1st). He knows to this day he could reload with his nearly untapped feeder program with "now" coach of Walker Vally @ the helm. Now with Cleveland's draw & support (facilities) and their added High School in WV... It's more in line with Williamson &Rutherford co.... Except the community awareness.... . I find it interesting that you have intimate knowledge of what Coach Logsdon "knows". However, I must admit, reading your posts is like a car wreck. I don't want to look but I just can't stop myself and always wish I had.
  6. Really? This has nothing to do with ownership. It has everything to do with a level playing field. If it is truly mono e mono, why have weight classes? Let the "best" man win. Your lack of insight into high school athletics is amazing. The only trophy cases it is about are the ones that are recruiting. Your argument is backwards. The recruited kids aren't there because of good looks. Your "Ownership" argument is a cop out to allow the bourgeois to play by different rules than everyone else. Why should a larger bank account allow one group to have an unfair advantage? I don't care if they recruit or not but don't act like it doesn't happen or that it is not a HUGE advantage.
  7. Let it go. If you have the cash you can buy the best. It's the American way. The idea that Baylor (or Cleveland, Soddy, Bradley, or anyone else) doesn't "recruit" is silly. It may not be official but it is done. It is done by parents, club coaches, Kids club coaches, at camps, on national teams, and anywhere else the chance arises. Whether it is free tuition, a rental house to live in, a job for mom and/or dad, or just a better team, kids are recruited. Baylor (and the rest of DII) play by different rules, and that's why they are in a separate division. The argument that "it's what's best for the kid" is a moot point. I don't think anyone would argue against a parent doing what is best for their child. Rules are made for what is best for ALL kids and to try and keep they playing field as level as possible. This horse has been beat to death for years.
  8. Actually, you are not totally correct either. A child's legal guardian must move into the new school zone as well. A kid, for example, couldn't move in with a coach unless that coach was his legal guardian.
  9. and the show begins. we going to see the old hand swating dance Shane or the new Baylorized tie wearing version?
  10. I heard through the grape wine that Shane and Rabbit Turner went to Red Bank and they took Turbo along. Any truth to this?
  11. Let me clarify: The top two/three (sometimes more)kids in DII are among the best and often are the best kids in the state, but the tournament as a whole is not that tough. Kids with loosing records go without having to qualify? My point was that after the DI DII split, neither tournament was as tough, but it didn't seem to hurt the quality of wrestlers in the state.
  12. What about the split is so scary? What will it hurt? If it's the quality of the tournament, then I got some bad news......It's not that tough to begin with. VA duals, B.O.T.E., The iron man, Fargo and the Senior nationals are always available if someone wants tough. The DII tourny is obviously not that tough, but does that mean Watson couldn't compete in DI? Would the DI champ be better off if he'd finished second? Would "wrestling"? Who is the victim? However TN decides to hand out medals at the end of the year is not going to effect the quality of our top guys. Take Matt Keller and Philip Simpson. Both competed after the split and both did fine. Had it been one division, one of them wouldn't have been a 4xer. Would they have been better wrestlers if that had happened? Who got hurt? I think there are positives and negatives to the A/AA split, but It's going to happen.
  13. I am amazed how you think your opinion is the only thing logical. Look at the participation stats in Georgia and North Carolina. If you want exciting then go to Fargo. What could be more exciting than a 32 man bracket? Well if I was using your logic I would say a 33 man bracket. I doubt any of the kids who were champs or medalist since the DI DII split would give their medals back to appease some sort of external elitism from old guys. Perhaps your arguments would be better if you THOUGHT (the all caps was sarcasm) instead of rant.
  14. 9. Fans will have the opportunity to see why Chattanooga has been voted the No.1 outdoor city in America I'm excited that the scuffle is in Chattanooga and the field is super impressive but I'm not sure being in a gym for 2 days is the best way to see why Chatt is the best outdoor city in America. Maybe we could try a new format and have everyone run North Chick and wrestle at the take out? If you have to walk out, you automatically go into consolations.
  15. I wonder how effective the NWCA really is. They have pushed the new weight classes through at the national level and created the monster that is weight certification. The weight class changes might be the most ridiculous thing I have seen in wrestling in a very long time. The justification I heard was that the NWCA used "data" for kids that weighed in and the new weight classes were the average. REALLY??? If kids are weighing in at 14 weight classes that included 125,130, 135, 140, 145, 152 and 189, 215 and heavy, I count 6 weight classes to 3 in those weight ranges. So, if each team weighed in one kid at each of those weights I am confused to how the data was compiled. Then I ask myself; What if they weighed in more than one kid per weigh in? However, of all the wrestling teams I have been associated with or seen, most of them have many more kids in the middle weights than the upper weights. I am puzzled, but as any good statistics man knows 87.456% of all statistics are made up, so I wonder how the bean counters at the NWCA came up with these numbers and if they would be willing to share their data with the rest of us? As far as weight certification goes: $10 per wrestler? That adds up to a lot of cash for someone. I also heard that the good ole NWCA owns most of Tanita!!!! Really? The official weight management scale is owned by the people who force everyone to use them? I hope this is just a nasty rumor, but I doubt it for some reason. I am not against weight cutting control but is being skinny really the biggest problem we have in America? I have yet to hear of a football coach trying to get a kid who is 5'10" 230 lbs to lose weight and the last time I heard we had an obesity problem in this country and not a weight cutting problem. I wish bureaucracies could refrain from becoming self-serving and remember that they work for the people they serve. Perhaps we should hold them accountable for their actions and demand that they remember their mission and not the bottom line. Kids are not a business. I direct this at the TSSAA, the NFHS, and the NWCA. I do applaud Georgia for only doing what they think is best for their kids. Maybe someone can set me straight and restore my faith in at least one bureaucracy.
  16. Not sure where it "ranks" but only North and South America (plus islands) compete. He did beat the Cuban in the finals and I believe he is a former World Champ
  17. Double elimination is a good step and what we have is better than nothing, but......they seed the Beast of the East and the NCAAs. It's not that hard, set criteria and follow it. If the TSSAA was as worried about the wrestlers and what was best for the sport as they are about profit then it would be no problem. They should be ashamed.
  18. It was a mutual forfeit. Both coaches agreed
  19. Nice observations. I still think you might want to think about a hobby. But, since you brought it up.....I have no issues with you I just don't think you know much about the sport. Enjoy ranting
  20. my pie hole? Nice, real nice, Clark. You are my new hero
  21. East Ridge beat Notre Dame. When is the last time that happened?
  22. He has been abducted by aliens and after a scheduled probe, should be back sometime Thursday. You deserve no answer. It seems you think coaches are all out for personal glory and don't care about kids, but maybe(just maybe) he took the day off. Maybe he was tired. Maybe he had the runs. Maybe he had a headache. Who knows? You need a hobby
  23. It was completely possible to have had double elimination in Chattanooga. The new venue is a step down. Period. I don't care where the tournaments are held form a geographic standpoint but the rodeo arena is not a good place. The only plus (besides the bathrooms) is that the TSSAA makes more money. The experience is less for all wrestlers, coaches, and fans I have talked to. With that said, I agree that double elimination has long been needed and is good for the kids and the sport. BUT PLEASE, put the tournament in a venue that will do it justice to all involved
