  1. anyone know his weight room numbers? saw him destroy a kid on a trap during the east west all star game
  2. I dont think you can really blame a game completely on the officiating involved. The players still have to come and beat the other team. Refs don't wear shoulder pads and helmets. You have to learn that sometimes calls can go your way or can against you. Bearden had one of the best seasons in a long time and I congratulate them on this. To be one of the last four teams left in the state is nothing to hang your head for. Good luck Smyrna against Independence
  3. Someone mentioned the preseason scrimmage, does anyone remember the exact score? It was an absolute beating. It was a 4 quarter game simulation scrimmage with the jeff county defense somewhat holding up in the first quarter but quickly being torn apart by Farraguts speed and conditioning. This game might feel close to jeff county for the first drive or so but after that it will be a long night. Farragut 45 Jeff County 10
  4. Ooltewah should have a fairly easy time on offense against bearden but the game will be decided on whether or not ooltewah can stop the heavy passing from beardens offense. The owls need to blitz and stunt all night long. If they pressure #9 they will win the game. Ooltewah 31 Bearden 17
  5. would that be the same region as ravenwood? theyre pretty good with the spread
  6. how can william blount be ahead of farragut? farragut beat them at william blount and farragut only has oneloss
  7. Mcminn county also has a great spread offense in place, they actually just switched from the wing-t to the spread in the past few years as did william blount
  8. Tribe fan do you know about any college recruiting of #22 and #32, those kids can absolutely play. 32 was the best defensive end ive seen all year
  9. What team has the best spread offense in 5A? Bearden, Farragut, and William Blount are a few that come to mind. Do you think the new theme of installing a spread offense will be here to stay? or will it just be another fad everyone tries like the wing-t a few years ago? any thoughts....
  10. A new school is also opening up in between karns and farragut , if youre familiar with knox county. Ive heard rumors that this could cut farragut down to 4a, im not sure what size the new school will be because of how it is zoned. There is severe overcrowding in west knoxville so both karns and farragut could drop to 4a and then move back several years later. and some one said ooltewah may be dropping? that would certainly weaken east tennessee in 5A the only teams you boys out west would have to worry about would be oakridge and dobyns bennett eachyear
  11. Im from east tennessee, region 2-5A and i have always thought it was stupid that region 1 just has 7 teams, they have had several teams the past few years that have just been terrible make the playoffs with losing or even records. However i think the regions out here are pretty fairly divided with region 2 mainly being knoxville and south and region 1 being parts of knoxville and north. Whats the difference between regions and going back to districts? how would that work and be different
  12. Mcminn shouldnt have a problem rolling over soddy daisy, if heritage can beat soddy then mcminn surely can. soddy daisy has gone from being a region contender almost every year to one of the worst teams in the region. Has a new school opened in the area and taken away some talent and depth? i know that bradley had a new highschool near it and it started drawing kids from the school zone. mcminn gets back on track 31-7, watch out for number 22 and 32 for mcminn on defense, those kids can play some football.
  13. who really cares about this game? Region 1-5A is a complete joke. only 7 teams and 4 get in. half the time the last two teams to get into the playoffs barely have a winning record. D-B and bearden own this region and always will.
  14. Oak Ridge seems to be back to the team of old, their coach has had a couple of seasons to get his system and installed and its working so far this season. Hopefully oakridge took notes and noticed that william blount is extremely vulnerable up the middle if u spread them out with some good sized line splits. Farragut ran inside zone, iso and draw plays all night. William Blounts got speed all over the field though, great effort and pursuit by the entire defense. With two explosive offenses that have put up great numbers all year this one could be more of a barn burner than the WB/Farragut game was. i take oak ridge 31-28, home field advantage at blankenship will help the wildcats
  15. farragut should dominate this game pretty easily, but they don't need to lose focus like they did against mcminn. Its still a region game and a must win for a shot at the region title. Back up quarterback for farragut has a very strong arm and a lot of confidence for just being a sophomore. His offensive line and the farragut running game should leave him without too much pressure.
