  1. Should be a good ballgame. Lenoir City is supposed to be young. Loudon is experienced. But you can throw the records out when these 2 teams meet under the lights. The game being on TV should heighten the excitement.
  2. First ever meeting. CCHS graduated alot. Loudon brought alot back. What's in store for Week 0.
  3. Should be a good scrimmage, but I think it will an oppurtunity to gauge the 2 teams, and not just be a test for Polk. I am curious to see how the test goes. Good luck to both teams.
  4. Loudon looked very impressive tonight. Any thoughts?
  5. Tough schedule. Tougher region. LC could beat Heritage, and could beat Kingston. Kingston graduated virtually every starting position. Sequoyah could be a very tough game for the Panthers.
  6. The Loudon/Lenoir City game is also televised. Classic rivalry. The games are listed on the Channnel 8 website.
  7. Will the Wildcats be able to get spring practice in with the end of the school year so close?
  8. I've heard Sweetwater has hired a head coach. Does anyone know if thats true, and if so who is it?
  9. Wade Plemons from Loudon High School. Spread Option Offense. Upcoming Junior.
  10. This may not be a close game. Kentucky football and Tennessee footbal are 2 different animals.
  11. Long time Loudon fan and statistician Bruce Lawson passed away on Tuesday. Bruce was always at the ballgame, and anyone around Loudon football knows how devoted a fan Bruce was. The program and the school will miss his presence on game nights. Please remember the family in your prayers.
  12. Underestimate the Redskins this year and see what happens. Talent and depth. These guys are poised to make a run.
  13. Loudon brings alot back. Could contend for the state. What does Central have returning.
  14. No love for Loudon here. The Redskins will be a much better team in 2009. I believe Loudon, Alcoa, and A-E can realistically win the state. But the road goes through Alcoa.
  15. Big time job! Does ORHS go after a proven winner?
  16. Plemmons, Whitfield, Crass, L. Newman, Kleinschmidt are all sophomores, and all started last year.
  17. Looking at the schedule, Loudon will be your toughest game. I am a little biased, but this is a 3rd round playoff team in 2008. They lost 1 offensive lineman, plus the Plemmons kid at QB is a dual threat. Defensively, they lose 3 starters. The entire defensive line comes back. I've also heard the Brown kid is playing next year, so that,s a RB, and DB spot that will be sound. Should be some great match-ups.
  18. The great thing about the Seqouyah/Loudon games is there is not a bunch of drama, just some classic, hard nosed, high school football. These have been great games to watch over the years.
  19. I don't think McMinn Central will be as good as last year, and this is a very winnable game. CAK is a different offense than what most teams are used to, Polk is always disciplined and plays hard, and Loudon will start seeing the results for all those sophomores that started on 2008. Glad to see the Chiefs and Redskins squaring off again.
  20. This can be a breakout season for the Chiefs. Realisticly 3-0 going into LC, and thats a very winnable game. The next 4 games will be a hard stretch. CAK, McMC, Polk, and Loudon will be a huge test. Win 2 out of those 4 and the corner is almost turned. 2009 will be the year the Wildcats fall to the Chiefs. Sweetwater has some issues from what I've heard.
  21. Richard Butkus had some huge games, several big plays against CAK, and Keenan Hawkins was a solid 2 way player this year. I believe these 2 plus Barr, Terry, and Miley would be great representatives for the Redskins for the 2008 campaign.
  22. 1. Alcoa 2. Marion 3. Boyd Buch. 4. Milan 5. Loudon No respect for the Redskins. How can CAK break the top 5 when they were handled by Loudon. Plus when Alcoa beat Loudon in the 3rd round it was closer than the score allowed. Congrats to Alcoa, another dominating year.
  23. 1. Maryville LL starts with the crickets and the most basic of plays from the Rebel playbook. They do this through little league and when they get to high school, they know the terminology, and are ready to take the field. Results: 70+ wins in a row. 2. Alcoa LL does the same. Results: playing for their 6th state title. Downside: Losing annually to the aformentioned team. 3. Most kids want to play at the next level. Why not make them prepared as possible. The world may not revolve around High school football, but UT did not interview any LL coaches, and I have never seen a college scout at a LL game.
  24. The problem with the LL is the restrictions. I was involved in the Loudon Quarterback club years ago, and the weight restrictions are ridiculous. I could maybe see a RB weight limit but tackle to tackle should be unlimited. The kids that play first in High School are usually the biggest, but in this conference only 1 "green stripe" can be on the field at a time. So if there is more than one green stripe on the team, then only one at a time can gain game experience. Well they get to high school and and everyone is fair game. The next thing would be putting in the high school scheme. If more LL programs would input the HS system, there would be less need for Middle School teams, in this area anyway. I know Polk Co. has, and I beleive Loudon started this year w/ putting in the HS offenses and defenses. I wonder League wide how many teams use the systems that they are feeder programs for. I know Maryville & Alcoa start when they are crickets. Look how it turned out for them.
