  1. I hear Seymour is good, but then again every year I hear how good the 1st place team is in this region. Perhaps this is the year Seymour can break the streak and put a region 1 team in the second round. I doubt it, Kingston is a heck of a lot better then their record. Obviously I have to say Region 2 all the way. Go Jackets see you in two weeks at our place.
  2. I'm confused the penalty for ejection is the next contest, or so I thought. Why did he get a bigger penalty? The story I heard was that he got 2 personal fouls on the same play. 2 personal fouls in one game is ejection and a 1 game suspension. What happened here?
  3. Oppressed I thought you where a Fulton fan based on some previous posts? AC was playoff bound regardless of this game, win or lose they where in. Please help me understand where you stand but I welcome the support. GO MAVS!!!
  4. Attention Region 1-3A fans what can we expect from your region in the playoffs this year? I have heard that Seymour's defense is good and they blitz alot. My question is which teams will advance to round 2? Best of luck to all teams.
  5. All I have to say is remeber what Livingston did a few years ago. 2-3A will be in the 'Boro, I believe it has the potential to be us (AC) as well. Just because Fulton isn't in the playoffs does not deminish this region at all. Its a shame with the format that the best region in the state has to beat each other up in the first 2 rounds. GO 2-3A go MAVS!!!!!!!!!
  6. Here is what I would love to see. Kingston loses today and take the 4 seed. Kingston gets its revenge in round 2 by beating AE then loses to AC in the third round. This is the only way we (AC) can get a home game, so thats my vote.
  7. I never thought I would be on here posting something nice about Catholic, but here goes. When I read this story in the paper yesterday I was very touched. This is the classiest thing I have ever seen Catholic do, and I aplaud them for there effort. Now lets see how classy they really are and wait to see how much they run the score up on them in a game that does not effect playoff standings at all. Go Scott upset them just for the heck of it!!!!
  8. Turtle are you serious? AE won that game because of a questionable call that resulted in a turnover at the 2 for AE. I don't understand why we didn't kick the two fields goals on 4th down that would have beaten AE but bring them on again and it will be different.
  9. Thank you so much Tiger obviously I could not agree more. AC's non region schedule included two teams that play this week to decide who is 2nd in their 4A region. AC plays tough non-region and they get punished. At the same time I understand why Kingston plays who they do, its a local rivalry thing. However in my opinion there needs to be a better way. At the same time if we (AC) had taken care of our buisness we wouldn't be in this spot. If we had beaten AE there would not be this thread. I understand we have no one to blame but ourselves. When you look at what it means though its pretty big; playing at home versus going to either Seymour, Grainger, or God forbid Carter is a huge difference. By the way I say God forbid carter because of their awful sidelines and the 1/2 mile walk up hill at halftime to the dressing room. Sorry Carter, but facts are facts.
  10. somethings are bigger then football, prayers from AC
  11. Just something for all the supporters of this new format to consider. The teams that you are competing against for the playoffs do NOT play the same teams. You could be in a region with tough teams and watch a weaker team walk in. Not a supporter of this new format at all. I have no problem with reclassification because numbers do change, my problem is with the new playoff format. We will see how it all works out. Good health to all.
  12. I think they deserve more talk then they get, but I don't see them finishing any better then 3rd in the region. That wont get you ranked, even in the best region in the state top to bottom. Its a shame that this region has to beat each other up in the 2nd round of the playoffs, but thats another topic for another post. Kingston I challange you to win out the regular season, make 3rd spot in the playoffs and earn your respect you ask for. Take it from a fan who saw his team drop out quickly, its hard to get it and easy to lose it. Good health to all.
  13. Yes I am a MavFan so perhaps you wont believe what I am about to tell you this is how I think the year will play out. 1.Catholic (7-0) 2. AC (5-2) 3. Kingston (5-2) 4. Fulton (4-3) AC can still get a second place in the region and the covited home game in the first round, with a little help. AE has to lose to Kingston and Fulton, and I see both of those as possible. AC has the tie breaker (head to head) over Kingston and Fulton so that will give them the 2 seed, again if we can win out. Fulton gets the head to head over AE with the head to head. Now if we (AC) don't take care of our business then obviously I am wrong. Good health to all.
  14. The good news is that AC has not been beaten yet this year, their looses are due to them beating themselves. Catholic beat them with 21 points off 3 turnovers. By the way hats off to Catholic who is the best disiplined team in the region if not the state. Powell beat AC due to the kids being over confident and thinking they had the game won before they got off the bus. Now AC has to find a way to get some confidence back and salvage this season. A win Friday, against a team they haven't beat in a long time, and winning out wll give them a 2 seed and home game in the first round of the playoffs. Lose Friday, and the best case scenerio is a 4 seed and going to play at 13A in the first round. The level of talent on this team is incredible and the best in the region. The fire that beat a tough Clinton team in week one and a decent Kingston team on the road is gone. Can the kids get it back? We will soon see. As far as the coaching coments go, they are doing the best they can and I support them. With that said I would like to see an offensive gameplan start and finish a game. It seems like the coaches cant figure out what to do if anything goes wrong. Mix up the play calling, throw it with confidence to open up the run. This team does not have the abilty to dominate a game by running it all game, despite the abilty of their backs. Go Mavs!!!
  15. The same week we lost to AE, our kids spring break the week after we should have beat the number one team in the state as far as our region, Fulton played Kingston (who we beat) to a very similar score. GO MAVS!!! Plus Fulton left there starters in to run up the score that week after AC had rolled over and played dead. Revenge is a female dog!!!
  16. Can anyone confirm the injury to Vann? Who else is hurt on Catholic. Please only respond to this if you know, not based on what you have read on here.
  17. Good luck coach Lambert we still wish you the best.
  18. the word is that Vann is out for Catholic, how many of you want to change your vote now?
  19. There is no doubt in my mind that AC can and will beat Fulton on Friday. I know that this might seem like a strong statment to some of you that disagree with this. AC has grown alot since these two played in week 2, and I have no doubt Fulton has as well. I want to know from those who agree and disagree with me as far as what AC has to do to win this game. I think Fulton is going to have a hard time stopping the AC offense. I think people will be shocked at the end of this game. The winner of this game has one step left (Catholic) between them and the Boro.
  20. AC should beat Carter, but you never know what will happen. AC has yet to put together 4 quarters of football in the same game. The potential of that team has not been realized, even with a couple decent blowout victories. The offense that Kerr is running this year is the most diverse he has ever had and they are mixing it up very well. They have the potential to come out and run it on anyone and control the ball. They also have some deadly pass plays that no one has stopped yet even after watching them on film from the week before. AC does have a weekness in their pass defense, this is no secret to anyone that has seen them play. It is also no secret that Carter has a great reciever, but what else do they have? Anyone can shut down one reciever. AC has the potential to make it alot further then people think that they can. Yes AC has played Carter before in the playoffs several years ago. AC won that game I do believe.
  21. I am not arguing who is better with you but CAK is being forced up in the next reclassification. the following is directly from the TSSAA website "CAK will remain 2A in football for the remainder of this classification period. Enrollment change with the multiplier moves CAK to Class 3A (football). However, by Board action a school cannot be moved more than one classification from their actual enrollment as a result of the multplier in one classification period. " Just thought you might wanna know.
  22. First off what I posted was based on information I gathered from LA fans when we went out there to play them. If it is not correct then I apologize. No you did not get rolled last week, and congratulations on the win. I have only been to one LA game this year and it was when AC played them. Again I apologize if my information was not correct. By the way I am not an idiot, perhaps the person who told me that mistaken information should be called the idiot.
  23. I have to admit I have been following 2-3A football for awhile and I am not suprised that the playoffs are coming down to week 10. People say Kingston has improved since AC beat them, but I have not seen them play since then. As much as I would love to see Kingston win and knock AE out of the playoff picture, I am definetly NOT a Yellowjackets fan on Friday, and here is why. Someone mentioned seeding as an advantage and they are right. Region 2 should win all 4 of the 1st round games, as they usually do. Getting the 4th seed is actually better this year because it gives you the chance at a home game in round 3. The second round is a little tougher, I would rather play Catholic then Fulton. Yes that was not a typo, I think Catholic is more beatable then Fulton. The 3rd seed travels for every game they play, and that as you know is a disadvantage. We will have to wait and see how everything plays out. Good luck to all teams and see you in the playoffs.
  24. Catholic is a good team, that is well coached and dominates the region in one of, if not the, toughest in the state top to bottom. Catholic is very beatable this year as AC showed when they went down there. AC had them beat but then they had some tough breaks. I am sure Catholic fans wont admit it, but I am sure they feel lucky to have somehow won that game. Catholic will not make it out of round 3 of the playoffs, but as usuall the 3A winner will come out of region 2. No disrespect ment to the rest of 3A, but I just believe there are too many teams in 2-3A that are good enough to win the state. We all remember a 4 seed Livingston Academy shocking the state a few years ago. Good luck to all teams.
