Couldn't agree with you more. ISU got another 'steal' a few years ago when a blonde curly headed boy from that state decided that a major school's campus was to big for him!
Tigers and LA are not top tier teams but they're both improving. This was one of the most competitive, enjoyable games that I've seen for awhile. To me, this kind of hustle and hard play is what HS basketball is all about!
Don't know about your "cave to demands". I do know she's exciting to watch and has made Upperman into a serious state contender. It's apparent that LA could have used her talent .
I'm not trying to start an argument nor put anyone down but a stronger schedule over the years could have made a difference once they reached the state tourney. When you play in a very weak district and region, you basically have to play that schedule.
Am I missing something here? There are eight teams in the district. My 'old guy' math may not be very good but that equals four first round games. Are you saying there is a first round bye for # 1 and a play in game for seven and eight?
