I'm sure if Milan would go raid Memphis' Talent like some teams do Knoxvilles then they would be a Powerhouse. To heck with Alcoa. Go out of State like other State Powerhouses and play some Comptition. I'm looking at you too Maryville..... Oh wait they got put out. My bad.....

Alcoa will win this game and add another State Title. Here's what I don't understand. With Alcoa and Maryville having so many State Titles why do they not schedule at least one Powerhouse from Georgia or Alabama? It would be great to see. Just a question so no one get butt hurt please.

Wow and all I have read the past week is that the Championship Game was last week when CAK played Alcoa.

I have read a lot of posts about East Tn teams and have always wondered why do they call Elizabethton "Betsy"?

Now I know I'm going to get a lot of dislike for my statement but I grew up in a time when their was only 3 Classifications. Their were no special divisions. The current system is so watered down that ( and here comes the hate from people) there are teams in the playoffs that don't belong.

yeah make sure you don't have East in there. Seeing as the East owns Milan and exposes them for who they are. A decent team in a very very weak division.

I can tell you some Very Rude and Arrogant fans. Milan Fans. To hear them talk it's always Bad Refs, Bad Calls and how Powerful Milan is. It makes me sick to hear people refer to them as a "Powerhouse"

I would have to move Milan down to 9 or 10. Very overrated this yr.

Please stop calling Milan a powerhouse. They are not and have not been since the late 90's. It is a slap in the face to programs that are a True Powerhouse such as Maryville, CAK, Alcoa. And for South Gibson don't get the big head I'm sure their are a few teams in the East that would love to Mercy you by the 2nd quarter and they would.

i guess if winning the District really mattered Milan would be like Gods but in the big scheme of things it means nothing.Yes here we are again at the beginning of the season.Such high hopes and questions "Who will make it to state"? "Will the gold ball ever see the light of day in the West again"? It really doesnt matter because the whole season is being played to be the runner-up.There is no team in 3A or 4A in West or Middle Tn that can compete with the likes of Alcoa or CAK.CAK made Milan look like a Middle School team last yr and guess what?Thats not going to change anytime soon.So lets get pumped for the season, paint our faces and cheer our teams on.But in the end its all going to turn out the same.But hey at least you can hold that District Title high.

This one was over before the game started.Until Milan gets a Killer Instinct like Alcoa or CAK they will continue being the Whipping Boys for the Real teams. But that will never happen because Milan is content with being runner-up. You think Alcoa is content the way this season went? They will be back with a venengence.

Wants to go ahead and Congradulate CAK on winning the state title. Milan for some reason in recent years does ok in the season and somehow manages to make the title game and then are exposed for who they are, a decent team in a very weak divison. Now everyone knows the truth the last few years CAK was the 2nd best team in state. Maybe one day the coaches in West TN will stop and think maybe we should see what the East Tn teams are doing to win and try it. West Tn football is a joke. Yeah i said it. So for the next few yrs ill go ahead and congradulate CAK or Alcoa either one will win state the next few years. Maryville and Greeneville congrates to yall too.

One might think that but no the team I cheer for routed their first round opponent. And that is why I hate the current system. They beat them pretty handly the first time and then pounded them in the playoffs. Ok I know that their are 10-0 teams that are paper champs and then there are 6-4 teams that are legit but have played a brutal schedule. This is why I think the system needs to be overhauled.If they went back to the way it was then the districts would be realigned and it would make for better matchup eariler in the playoff.

Ok now I know that I will receive alot of replies from people who disagree with me on this topic but I believe the playoff system is a joke. I took a quick look at all the brackets including the Div2 brackets and if my math is correct their are 51 teams that have a record of 5-5 or worse and a few with 3-7 and one 2-8. I went to school in Tn in the 80s and 90s and I can remember when it was just 3 Classes 1A,2A,3A and that was it no special division,nothing. I do not believe that if a team has a win percentage below .500 they deserve to be in the playoffs. Their are 8 State Champs each yr that is way too many.The system needs to be overhauled and either have 1A-5A with no special division or better yet take it back to 1A-3A and no special division. In 1A and 2A and the div2 there are teams that get a bye in the first round.Really? Now I know the TSSAA will never revert the playoff system back to the way it was but the system needs to be fixed somehow.

Ok I usually dont reply to messages like this but I have to say your whole statement sounds like it comes from a person who is extremely jealous of Milans tradition in winning. Yes can some Milan fans be Aholes? Of course. Your statement about Alcoa, in the past few yrs who can really say that they have beaten them? Thats right only one in Maryville.How many times has Lewis Co played Alcoa? So now that Milan walked through L.C. 40-7 I guess the only thing left for your seniors to do is "start prepping your younger guys to get owned by Milan if you even make the playoffs next yr.

Ok without making people mad all I can say is the state champs will be Alcoa again unless someone brings there absolute A game with no mistakes and Alcoa has an off night.Now in saying that I mean no disrespect to any teams out there. But reality is that Alcoa is a different beast.BTW I grew up in Milan so I have no bias to Alcoa Im just stating facts. I will say regardless who wins state I believe 3A has some of the best teams in state that could compete in other divisions and win. Just to name a few CAK,Milan,Camden,Goodpasture Ect. Thats what I love about H.S. Football is these kids play for the love of the game not money. So good luck to all teams,play safe and show the rest of the state what 3A is all about.
