Warriors011 you do make classy post however to say Alcoa wouldn't have won the Championships without out of zone kids is irrelevant. Do you even know how many out of zone kids start for Alcoa this year? If I'm not mistaken there is only two. Alcoa best players are usually home grown kids. I was told that MBA would be coming. That's a shame because MBA should be pretty good the next few years. As far as the DII posters saying the Blount County teams don't play anyone. Well you had your shot and you turned it down. Apparently you didn't want to play the two most dominant teams in Tennessee the last 10 years. If your extended an offer and don't take it don't blame us. Blame your school! Congrats on Webb for stepping up to the plate and excepting the challenge. They should be very good the next 2 years. So it should make for an entertaining game. Will anyone step up to play Maryville and Alcoa next year???

kwc How could you not go to the Whitehaven- Smyrna game? It should be a classic. Plus it the school you went to. I would think that the Ridgeway game could get out of hand if Hendersonville doesn't score any points early. By the way I will be pulling for Whitehaven in this game. Surprise Surprise Surprise !

Wow you gotta love that. Tell your wife will we give her a pass. After going to Betsy last year and seeing the Tornadoes dominate. I just hope we don't get to confident. Betsy will bring their A game and sometimes we get a little complacent. However this is the last home game for this GREAT senior class. So I expect this to be a very focused group of Tornadoes. TORNADO PRIDE BABY! On another note last year I talked to some Betsy fans and they said last years crowd was the biggest they had ever seen at that game. Will Betsy bring a big following to ALCOA?

I would love to see a Greeneville win on Friday. If this is a close one the edge might go to Maplewood just because Greeneville hasn't been in too many close games. Should be an interesting game. Come on Greeneville pull this one out for East Tennessee. I would love to see 8 teams from the East side of the state play for the championship.

Where in the world is Smyrna ranked 36 in any national poll? This means absolutely nothing come Friday but I do want to know which poll.

If you look at the football talent in the states California, Florida, & Texas. These are the best states for football talent and they are 3 of the 4 most populated states. Those schools listed above are good examples but its like I said earlier. Good coaching-Dedication-Good Athletes- all of those schools have that.

kwc I would assume that more Memphis area teams should be in the championship games. Its the biggest city in the state. The basketball talent in that city alone is unbelievable. Which would lead me to believe they should have more football titles? Of course we are going to disagree on some of this. Everybody has their own opinion. That's what makes this board entertaining. I'm not mad at what you say but why is there more teams in East Tennessee having so much success? One would think that the Memphis area teams would have more success in the last 20 years. Just an observation from my view.

OK you got me there but I have seen at least 30 championship games in this state (actually attended). I have watched several more on the T.V. I have even been to Nashville or the Boro when my teams was not playing. I hope that clears up any confusion on your part.

Really you know everything that goes into making it to a state championship game??? How many times has your team made it to the champion game? The best prospects in the state usually come from either Memphis or Nashville. I hate to admit that but year in and year out that's pretty much a fact. That's the two biggest cities in the state of Tn so that only makes sense. However the Knoxville area usually has more teams playing for a state championship than the Memphis area. I do know what it takes to win a state championship. I have seen 6 in a row and 11 in my lifetime. 1 hard work 2 dedication 3 good athletes 4 good coaching For a city (Memphis) that dominates in basketball. You really have a bunch of excuses for the football programs. IMO.....

That's pretty impressive for Memphis Football. Of course in my opinion they should have at least four or five schools playing for championships every year. If you just look at the overall talent and population in that city. I would be willing to bet that Memphis wins two State Championships of the four. I don't think St Georges will beat Webb or Trezevant will win next week. Whitehaven and Ridgeway have an excellent chance to win in their respected classifications. However if you look at East Tennessee you will see that 6 teams are guaranteed to play for it all in their classification. If Knoxville West and Greeneville win Friday then East Tennessee will have 8 teams in every classification playing for it all. Even though Memphis rules in basketball the east side has the best football. PERIOD!

I'll have to say West is playing great right now. They could beat Ridgeway on a given night. It looks as if East Tennessee had better teams overall this year than any other division in the state. We will definitely see the next few weeks.

I have picked Ridgeway to win it all in 5A BUT Hendersonville is really peaking right now. This game will be much closer than most think IMO... Just curious how do you like your crow.

This is going to be a very close game. If Milan can muster up about 21-24 points then I think they win. If NOT then GP takes this one. Should get interesting come Friday.

I will be pulling for Maryville if they get to the finals. However my team of choice is Alcoa but I actually will be pulling for Smyrna next week. I would love to see a Maryville- Smyrna match up.

Which team in East Tennessee has out of county players??? Name me the team and the player. Because I don't know of any. Its going to be real funny if the greatest region in the state doesn't have a team in the championship game.

Congrats to CAK on another great game & season. CAK has had the 2nd best team in the state in our classification the last 3 out of 5 years. IMO... Their coaching staff has done a really nice job. Now for my Tornadoes... Coaching was the difference for us tonight. I will give CAK a lot of credit BUT we didn't play our best game OR coach our best game. CAK had something to do with that. However the kickoff to start the game was a terrible call. It dictated the whole 1st quarter. The 3 down lineman instead of 4 was killing me. The return game was a non factor and we were not even putting pressure on their punter. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THAT. If CAK would have had a fake punt called on the couple of punts they would have gotten it. That could get us beat if were not careful. I was so mad at not even trying to return a punt. It was like we were going through the motions. Play calling was really bad IMO... I usually don't criticize the coaches but this was not one of their shining moments. I also hope #27 is ok. He took a big shot to the chest.

What I find so crazy about this game is most Oak Ridge fans would have never expected this. Some were ready to get rid of their coach about half way through the season. Now look he's one win away from the championship game. The only problem is he's playing the Red Rebels. Who knows anything can happen but you have to like Maryville? Just to let everyone know if Greeneville & West win next Friday. East Tennessee will have 8 teams playing for the gold ball. WOW! That says a lot about the football on this side of the state.

Do you even realize that East Tennessee could have 8 teams in the championship games. That's 8 for 8 if you didn't know. This should tell you something about East Tennessee football. Smyrna better be worried about Whitehaven. You guys were claiming the winner of this game wins it all. We will see but like I said in an earlier post. I wouldn't bet on it!
