Ronnie Carter coached Overton in the late 70's and possibly early 80's. I do not believe they wore hooded warm-ups. I believe those were warn during Coach Gabriel's tenure.

Overton wore hooded warm-ups that looked similiar to what boxers wear when they enter the ring. I do not believe Father Ryan ever wore hooded warm-ups.

Richards got pinned by Hendersonville in the semi-finals and then the Hendersonville wrestler got pinned in the finals by the Ryan wrestler.

When did Ryan wear hooded warmups? According to the pictures in the cases outside the wrestling room and pictures they had on a TV outlining the wrestling program, it appears they used to wear a gray wool warmup with a purple collar on the back with shamrocks on them.

Looks like 145 and 152 finals were close. What were their matches like? Were there other good matches in the tournament? Also, what were some of the better weight classes and what were some of the better matches in the tournament? Who looked good? I would think if Father Ryan beat Wilson Central in the finals at 120 lbs that had to be a good match. What about Mason at 220 lb from Brentwood Academy? How did he look? I know they are saying the Wilson Central wrestler was sick but didn't he lose to the MBA wrestler last year who got beat by Mason? This would have been a great test for him. Mason is a beast.

Congrat's to CBHS for entering the Top 50. CBHS has done a great job of bringing their team to the top of Tennessee wrestling.

Great line-up for the Duals especially bringing some teams from out of state. How good is the team from WI? Also, do you know the pools? Who is wrestling in the Individual tournament on Saturday? Looks like a great weekend of wrestling at Indy. How is Newberg doing at Nebraska?

You also have the problem of wrestlers going down and doing by the TSSAA standard so wrestlers who would usually start do not wrestle because they are going down a weight class. This leaves holes in lineups and you do not know where some wrestlers are going to wrestle. Give credit to those who try to do polls during the early season. It does not matter until February. However, most wrestlers will be at their wanted weight after Christmas so the polls after Christmas will be more accurate. The polls now give you a standard of where your wrestler stacks up at this point. It WILL change after Christmas.

This is the 2nd year for the MTGC so how could teams not come back after the 2nd year because it was not run smoothly?

The MTGC is being held again this year; however, there are not many teams in Middle Tennessee supporting it. I do not know why. I do know that there is a tournament at Beech the same weekend that many Middle Tennessee teams are going to as well as many Middle Tennessee teams going to other tournaments. I do not know why. This tournament was to bring the best of Middle Tennessee together to wrestle to find out who was the best but that is not gong to happen this year. It is a shame this has happened.

What were the individual results? Cleveland is the real deal when they wrestle everybody.

This is so tragic. Cleveland lost an icon from the past. I can only hope that his family knows that he is loved and our prayers are with them. Jeff Howard was a great wrestler; however, it appears he was a great person. A big loss to the wrestling community. Great article BB as always.

Where were the big men, 220 lb and hwt for MBA this past weekend? I believe that had they been in the tournament, MBA would have moved up the charts.

Coach, Sorry to hear the decision did not go in your favor. Know that your hard work and dedication to the Sycamore wrestlers will live with them and their families for the rest of their lives. You have made a positive impact in their lives as evidence by the parents and wrestlers fighting for you. Best of luck in your next endeavor. This is Sycamore's lost.

Coach, Best of luck at the meeting tonight. I hope it goes in your favor. The kids deserve better than this. Their reason for letting you go is a disgrace and the Board of Education should look into this.

Coach Hamblin, saw the piece on TV last night and it made me sick knowing what they did to you and the program. It appears to me that they want to disband the program that you worked so hard on building. My thoughts and prayers are with you and hope that you land on your feet somewhere else that will appreciate what you have to offer. This is Sycamore's loss.

Yes it did. I just thought everybody would have gone back to the Grand Championships. Why the 2nd message to see if I was OK with your answer and all of the question marks? It appears I must have struck a nerve. Maybe I should have asked you the 2nd time a little sooner since I originally asked the question on August 16 and you ignored the question. I asked again on August 20 and you finally answered. No reason to be so ugly. Why the animosity? Best of luck with your tournament. The reason for asking the question is that with all of these teams not participating in the Grand Championships this year will dilute the talent at the tournament. I heard the Grand Championships were going to be this same weekend. If so, why are so many teams from Middle Tennessee not wrestling in it like they did last year? I count 13 teams from the Middle Tennessee area in this tournament. Is the Grand Championships not occuring this year? I ask this because I also saw where Sycamore was having a tournament this same weekend and it will include more Middle Tennessee teams. Can somebody advise what is going on. Thanks.

Who is coaching Hillsboro this year?

These two are in the rule book and fit McCallie to a tea on this match. As I stated earlier, do not pick and choose what suits you best, you have to be fair to all and consider all of the stalling rules. Amazing how the explanation you gave for 138 lbs semis is exactly what occured in the 160 lb finals but you changed. Thank you for showing your true colors.
