  1. and every year, here, people complain about the $10 for all day pass at the state tournament and $5.00 for parking, food, so it's not just the venue, there were complaints when it was in Chatt. about the amount charged and parking, food etc, etc, etc....... same story different year..... anyone have a solution? Are fans here in Tennessee willing to pay by session a fee, or $75-$100 for an all session pass? I would..... but I'm just 1 person........ Anyone know the cost associated with the event being at Bridgestone, Municipal Auditorium......... any other venue, any other city?
  2. Just a point of ref.... Ohio, 5 sessions $15 each session.... or advance purchase $75 lower bowl or $55 upper for an all session pass.
  3. To anyone who really "watched" this young man wrestle, no contest .. CBHS Oliver. There were other great wrestlers it could have gone to.....but not this year in D II
  4. Maybe to rotating sites................ Suggestions.........reference point Ag Expo seats 4,200 Main arena floor 45,000 sq ft Nashville - Municipal Auditorium- seats 9,600, Main arena floor 63,000 sq ft. Chattanooga - Mckenzie Arena proven location, note is there floor space for 12 mats, is there an optional location in Chatt. Knoxville - Thompson Bowling - is there another option? Again is there floor space for 12 mats Memphis - Pyramid?? Any other options Each year the event moves in some rotation process, as well as, the duals and individual would never be in the same location in the same year Any locations ideas...... To place 12 mats with space around, need at least 40,000 sq ft min. Oh well, ........... "California Dreaming"
  5. Let's see...... Well you have a weight class... 106, each division draws 1, 2, and 3.... This would be the order of pick, AAA draws 1 makes their choice first.....then proceed to 2 then 3..... Repeat the entire process on each weight class.........until all Divisions by weight class are assigned. The process should be completed in 45 mins or less.... As long as all the coaches are available for the process.......... Most coaches know who they respect and trust, or NOT
  6. IDEA...... maybe the championship match head coaches should pick the officials they want to call their wrestlers final. Then disk flip who is the lead official and the assistant........... You accomplish 2 very important things 1)you have officials that each wrestler and coach respects and has confidence In a fair, even match, and, 2)eliminate some of the coaches trepidation when they see who is calling their match Just another pipe dream?!
  7. Agree with the comments about the pictures, action and podium shots............ Fight fire with fire... Don't purchase any pictures, hit the economics................. If anyone took pictures they would be willing to share with the parents of the finalist NO CHARGE......... Respond here
  8. LOL, i had to read your post again, .......... you got all your facts from the "article", ....... REALLY, oh yeah, we ALL know that the media prints, 100% accurate information(sarcasm for those, you know who you are)..........LOL, LOL, LOL, (sigh) got to feel sorry for anybody who relys on the media for their information, fyi, all credabilty gone, go ahead an delete your posts, it will ease the embarassment heres a thought, the coach is innocent until proven guilty by the facts, we have all seen the media convict someone before everything comes out secondly, something occured to this young lady, and her fear is real because of what occurred, no doubt #1 TRUTH, both families need our thoughts, prayers, and support #2 TRUTH, NONE of us were there
  9. "South End of a North Bound Mule Award - given to an unnamed official ... Heath Eslinger (to much applause and laughter from the crowd) and Max Ofori accepted on behalf of the official who was not in attendance... presented by Jeff Rufolo (who else?).. who has stupendously held the award in high esteem the past 12 months." WOW! was this a group of officials calling out one of their own from another part of the state ...... this might get good!!! /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  10. HMMMMMMM............. coach g.... i did not hear a no /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  11. coach gonyea what about Hamm and you for the blackman position /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />
  12. just remember the TSSAA is affected by the economy IF the public or private schools that are part of the program drop sports because of budget constraints and cutbacks. this is a very interesting string.............. there are some options, that could have promise while boosting the economy of the chatt area and intrest in wrestling.......... D1 AAA change to double elim stay at the Roundhouse along with D2. A timestudy would prove that D1 can be run on the same 3 days with a 2 hour earlier start on day 1 and as mentioned previously use some of the dead time during day 2 and 3. Then D1 A-AA could be run simutaneously at McKlellan (sp) on day 2 and 3, as is D2 currently. Then all 3 finals could take place in the roundhouse on the final day............ what a great event!! looks good on paper!!
  13. it is a great loss to the blackman program with coach harmon stepping down...... but our families must come first, and we wish him the BEST. but..... what about the guy who got it started at blackman,......... Coach Mike Levi,...... he was at afew matches this year and/maybe..............................out of retirement, what about it Coach L.
  14. what about matt sweeton 3x state champion from tullahoma 1998, 2000, 2001.......... takedowns were/are still coach lester's trademark
  15. Coach D........ good to hear from you..... and great post. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  16. testy testy.......... must have hit a nerve................. having never flown with a cape is exactly the point, one would think a hoot-owl would have better eyesight and possibly be smarter,.......... but every group has its "old birds" that pretend to be all-wise........... /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  17. "but in this case the ref blew it badly. I was sitting in the nose bleed and had a good view." r u kidding????? nose bleed and the ref is less than 10 - 15 feet away /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> good call superman /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  18. why keep any team points.... you already have a team championship in the dual D1, D2 and small school. this is the traditional individual state..... at that point it does not matter on the team score, it is about each individual's performance........ /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  19. but did they sleep in their own bed, wrestle on their own mat, in front of the home crowd......oh my!! i heard that state will be at a neutral site next year maybe the georgia dome......lol /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> congrats to all wrestlers who made it to the state tourney.... especially the Champions & Medalist
  20. thanks for the survey.............. again confirmation of the 80/20 rule..........
  21. Ronnie Carter has done a tremendous job for atheletics in TN. He has served on many national boards making decisions that strengthen high school sports across the nation. There are always going to be decisions that someone will disagree with......... but opinions vary. But there is one thing that is true......................... the view is always perfect from the cheap seats. if you disagree get in the fight.
  22. i guess the question is, was the headgear as i was, legal........ yes the second thing is, it is not the officials job to make allowance, call the rules.... it is the wrestlers to make adjustments. the wrestler must make adjustments based on a variety of situations that occur during the match, from a tempo, style, you name the action......... the only thing that i can't get over is that even though he had been penalized multiple times....... he continues to "tap & go" .............. if the stove is hot... don't touch it. the official called the rules.
  23. there is no warning for grabbing the headgear.............. it is technical violation (i think that is correct) that is penalized upon application, if the wrestler "wraps" his fingers in the headgear in an attempt to control, hold, or move the head, by the ear-cover or the straps that would constitute the penalty. it is hard to concieve that he would do it 4 times, but the official calling the match is a perfectionist, so i am certain he saw it...........
  24. jeff i always love to watch josh and jess wrestle, and i know there is another one coming on. sometimes our plan is not GODs'. I know this is easy for me to say, and tremendously harder to for you and the boys (young men) to live through..................... but here goes and remember GOD loves wrestling God is a safe place to hide Ready to help when we need Him We stand fearless on the cliff edge of doom Courageous in seastorm and earthquake Before the rush and roar of oceans, The tremors that shift mountains The Jacob wrestling GOD fights for us The God of Angel Armies protects us........PS 46: 1-3 There must be bigger things in the plan.............. to be continued at NAVY.
  25. even though this string probably contains the winners in d1 & d2 why can we let them win their respective divisions and then start the chaos..... it just seems very disrespectful to the others teams,................. "if you believe, it can happen"
