  1. Curious what others think about this game? Goodpasture lost 14 seniors from last year. This 2017 team has a large junior class of 25 players that have played a bunch over the last 2 seasons. I believe there are 9 starters returning on offense and 5 or 6 returning on D. DCA looks like they have a good QB with a few good WR as well. http://goodpasture.football/
  2. NCS should be the team to beat in DII A and barring major injuries as I am not sure how deep the Eagles are. Even loosing Wilhoit transferring should not slow them down one bit. Myers is very capable of carrying the rock and putting up huge numbers, and as a Junior can only image how much of a Beast Xavier will be his senior year. Lawless will plow through any offensive line in front of him this year and may b sitting on the sideline most games by end of 3rd quarter. I would predict that NCS will have running clocks in at least 4 of their games this year. My 2 cents.
  3. Witnessed Stratford at 7on7 several weeks ago in July and they are a totally different team without the QB and one of the best RB's in the state they had last year. Stratford will be competitive and still have some athletes but CPA should win by 2 TD's.
  4. Yea Goodpasture lost 14 seniors and this year they have a large junior class of 25 players that have played a bunch over the last 2 seasons. I believe there are 9 starters returning on offense and 5 or 6 returning on D. There are 3 players who had to sit out last year that now get to play. A few new kids from the basketball and baseball teams who might start in the mix as well. http://goodpasture.football/

  6. LOL these new DII threads should get interesting.
  7. Yea the 2016 Goodpasture team did beat CPA during the season and then several weeks later lost a close one to the Lions that went into Double Overtime in the 3rd round of the playoffs at home. The Cougars lost a bunch of seniors and looks like CPA is stacked returning many players who played a bunch last couple of season as freshmen and sophomores. CPA had a very deceiving win/loss record last year and will be the team to beat from middle TN for sure. http://goodpasture.football/
  8. http://goodpasture.football/ Yea the 2014/2015 season was hard on the program and the success last year has attracted a few kids from other school sports. Last year the Cougars 25-3 basketball team had seniors 5 who were very athletic players that would’ve made the 2016 10-3 football team even better. But we will never know. Yes, there have been a couple of new baseball and basketball players and few more who had to sit out last year who are now eligible. A new kid/grown man that moved here from Texas who is a big strong DT OT that I predict will be an impact player for the 2017 Cougars.
  9. Happy 4th of July from http://goodpasture.football/
  10. I believe they lost 8 or 9 seniors that were starters on both sides of the ball. Lost a bunch of the offensive firepower and the special team threat from #6 who had 5 punt/TD return TDs who on any given play could take 80 yards in a blink. They have reloaded with some very solid brand new players and several rising Juniors and sophomores who have lots of playing time over last 2 season. They will also have a very solid 3-year starter Junior QB that has started since he was a freshman. Hard to really predict in this new classification. Should be competitive.
  11. http://goodpasture.football/ Thought I would start a thread for the Cougars who lost a bunch of seniors from last season. Many in Madison are still getting over the Round 3 Playoff loss in Double OT to CPA going for 2. 2017 Football Schedule Date Opponent 8/18 7:00p @ Donelson Christian Academy (Nashville, TN) Location: Donelson Christian Academy 8/25 7:00p Briarcrest Christian (Eads, TN) Location: Goodpasture Christian High School 9/1 7:00p @ Battle Ground Academy (Franklin, TN) Location: Battle Ground Academy 9/8 7:00p Friendship Christian (Lebanon, TN) Location: Goodpasture Christian High School 9/15 7:00p @ Lipscomb Academy (Nashville, TN) Location: Lipscomb Academy 9/22 7:00p @ Davidson Academy (Nashville, TN) Location: Davidson Academy 9/29 7:00p Franklin Road Academy (Nashville, TN) Location: Goodpasture Christian High School 10/13 7:00p Christ Presbyterian Academy (Nashville, TN) Location: Goodpasture Christian High School 10/20 7:00p South Pittsburg (South Pittsburg, TN) Location: Goodpasture Christian High School 10/27 7:00p @ Pope John Paul II (Hendersonville, TN) Location: Pope John Paul II High School
  12. My 2 cents on top teams, CPA might be the top team next season in this new D2AA division. CPA had a very deceiving record last year and returns almost every starter. They were a young team last with a bunch sophomores and have a group of very good players who will be hard to beat for the next couple of years.
  13. Wow. CPA keeps improving each game and their young QB and RB played very well tonight. The Cougars had too many penalties and turnovers to beat a good team like CPA. The Cougars were down 21 to7 at the half. Within 6 minutes in 3rd it was tied. Did not expect these 2 teams to trade field goals like they did. Now pulling for CPA to beat a very good Liberty team to get a Alcoa rematch.
  14. Yea bcd #13 may be a good one when it all said and done. I am coming from HWY 100 Ensworth area only 7 miles from CPA myself and you gotta love the Nashville traffic these days. Stop by our tailgate before game if you want. I agree CPA will be strong the next several years for sure. I’ve played youth and high school football with Tony Carletello and Hedge Burt back in the day and know they are helping them grow the Middle School farm system. Goodpasture is losing bunch of seniors and will have a small senior class next season and then a large one in 2019. Not sure it really matter as there are several kids moving from out of town and players who sat out this year that may step in. Although it will be hard to replace this solid senior class. There are a bunch of sophomores that started this year and few freshmen who have played a lot. Going to be a perfect night for FOOTBALL!!! List of some of the returning players. Class of 2018 #54 Morrow C,DL 5'11"230 lbs Junior #51 Hunt T,DL 5'11"275 lbs Junior Class of 2019 #4 Elders RB, NG 5'11"205 lbs Sophomore MaxPrep Video #8 Turner WR,S 6'1"180 lbs Sophomore #12 Scurlock WR,QB,S 5'10"150 lbs Sophomore #16 Seals RB,S 5'9"165 lbs Sophomore (Sitting out 2016) #13 Brooks QB 6'2"180 lbs Sophomore #29 McAuley RB, ILB 5'8"185 lbs Sophomore #55 Lazenby OT, DL 6'1"255 lbs Sophomore #57 Turner OT,DE 6'0"215 lbs Sophomore (Sitting out 2016) Class of 2020 #32 Gabe Corley FB, DE Fr. 5-11 175 #60 Eli Bennett OL, DT Fr. 5-11 245
  15. Short memories, you do know that Goodpasture has beat CPA more than CPA has beat Goodpasture. CPA actual record vs the Cougars is 11-13. Both have 3 State Titles but Goodpasture has made to Championship game more than CPA. So we shall see.
  16. Here is a little recap video of the Cougars last game with CPA in Oct for all those interested.
  17. LOL. So much love for private schools. Kids transfer all the time nothing specific to Privates and from what I have seen happens more in Public schools. For example one of the best RB in the state #1 at Stratford transferred from Hendersonville last year and somehow was able to play this year at Stratford without sitting out. I am not saying they did anything wrong and sure he did it within TSSAA transfer rules and was above board. Yea I am looking forward to separating as well. All of the complaining to split may have unintended consequences for the public schools as now all schools will have travel more. Next time around they will go after the Open Enrollments. Anyway, thats another discussion for another CoachT message thread.
  18. http://goodpasture.football/ Coach Joslin should get Coach of the Year! He is a big reason for the turnaround along with a couple of really good players who had to sit out last year due to TSSAA transfer rules. From what I have seen it is a totally a different mindset now and back to what made Goodpasture a hard team to beat with hardnosed physical play on both side of the ball. Started in the weight room last summer and in week 1 after beating BGA on the field but losing on the scoreboard everyone noticed that this was a different team from the year before. The following week in White House they snapped the 22 game streak and have not looked back.
  19. Most outside of Goodpasture have not seen or heard of #2 Kody Crider who had to sit out last year after transferring in from Station Camp. I had to post his 2016 recruiting video of this kid. He is a Beast! Does it all playing multiple positions on both sides of the ball. So far this year #2 has played QB, TB, FB, TE, DE, LB, and average over 43 yards per punt.
