Yeah that would be the other reason and I'm going to say even though it's not been explicitly stated that is probably 90% of why she left

This game would be out of hand if Unaka would quit forcing the 3 19 attempts halfway through the 2nd qtr

Eh in this area it's tough to make it to a big college. Her best chances have been through her travel ball team. One tournament she played in a year or so ago had Gino there scouting for UCONN. She left elizabethton due to the coach at unaka. They are close to her family and her dad was offered a spot to coach in some form. Yep. She's had plenty of visits and letters. She's had some interest from an ACC team. This summer will be good to follow when she starts up travel ball again

Local teams performing as anticipated. It's always funny reading team previews. Non local teams: 6'9 Sr ranked in top 100. Local team: 6'1 Sr made all conference.

How has the officiating been this year?

I agree. They pulled off the big upset last year iirc so maybe lightening will strike twice

I'd say every local team is gon a look about the same as these first 2 games. I'm not there this year but looking at the scores there's been no surprises

I agree 100% and if it's about money they should push for the biggest fan bases and forget the roster.

I look at it this way. Unless a local team is loaded they won't do well. Crockett couldn't win it all with some D1 talent. Even Gate City with Mac couldn't win it. Right now our local teams are just there for the participation trophy. The best local teams play other tournaments as is. And no VA high doesn't have the capacity to hold a large tournament but this is just the first year. Other schools were interested but I feel they went with VA high bc they were the first and the rival of TN high. I could see them moving it to DB or Science Hill or even freedom hall if it takes off. The amount of money being pumped into it should attract some really solid teams.

West ridge got a horrible match up. Next year the arbys classic at va high could rival the classic. The franchise owner is pumping a lot of money into the tournament. Plus the franchise has 187 restaurants in 16 states so a lot of area to hopefully recruit some good teams since they are doing a public and a private bracket

We lost Boone, DB, Grainger. Picked up Seymour in conference and TN high and West ridge

DB probably are the ones who didn't want to re up the contract and TN high dropped EHS after getting dog walked every year so I'm assuming they were tired of being fodder for Greeneville

It's not doom and gloom just yet. Most elizabethton knowledgeable football fans didn't have high hopes for this year's team and honestly I thought we over performed. Before we left 3a we gave Alcoa one of the best games they had played up till that point in the season. And that was with a team not anywhere near as good as our title teams. We might have rough years here and there but we will bounce back. Up until a couple years ago no one mentioned AC and title in the same sentence.

Region 2 is brutal

My friends cousin plays for Cherokee. Said they pretty much ran all night with 3 in the back field

If our defense and run game are in point a low scoring win for us. If they can break some big plays it's going to be a long night
