The Girls Basketball team I am a part of played for a gold ball this season. One of the biggest differences in the sports is that there is no field prep/maintenance in basketball. Our baseball is successful and play 30 games in the regular season as well. All of the teams dedicate A LOT of time in preparing for their next opponent.
I coach 3 sports in HS and can tell you that basketball is NOT the most time consuming. I'm not saying it doesn't take a lot of time but between basketball, baseball and football it isn't the most time consuming.
Pizza is not a Loretto person and I can GUARANTEE that Loretto HAS NOT overlooked Peabody. Before you go announcing Loretto is disrespecting anyone do a little homework on who you are reading that crap from.
Lewis Co. played a good clean game friday night and had to do so without a couple of key players. Loretto was without their QB and their running back played injured. All in all it was a good game. Loretto isn't traditionally a powerhouse in football and the successful seasons may not come often but the community and school get behind them no matter what. There is a good tradition of winning in most other sports and there has been 9 former athletes drafted into MLB. Not bad for a little school in rural Tennessee.
Pizza may have a good long term memory when Loretto was a good program in the 90's. There have been a few teams here and there that have had success. 5-0 is a good start and maybe another run like they had in the 90's.
Week 1

This is a great post. I know I like prodding him from time to time but this is the reason. He has proven to dish it out and now take it. This is what these boards are about!! I also enjoy how he sprinkled in some other sports references.
I think it will be more of a shootout than some expect. I definitely don't see it being a 7-0 game! Under the current staff at Loretto the scores of this game have been 13-7 and 18-7. The offense has had a lot of young players in key rolls the past 2 years and they are starting to mature. Combine that with what I have read on many of GeneralForrests post about the incompetence of the Forrest coaching staff it will be a good game. I've been wrong before but I think it will be close.
I am not at that school but I have heard that the male/female ratio is really unbalanced (I have been told 1:4 male to female) and the male sports are starting to be short on numbers for athletes. I also believe that if Coach Sharp were to step down those would be the largest shoes to fill in the south east.
I am intrigued by the Mt. Pleasant job for some reason. With the athletes that is in that school I would think they would be a high caliber team with the right direction. Someone tell me if I am wrong.
I know that most coaching positions are not really looked at until the end of the championship, but I am wondering who has already been given their pink slip and who may replace them.
