  1. Are you serious?! Kingston by 20?! Now that is crazy...Even if Kingston does come on top it will be very close....I have a feeling that Harriman will come out on top on this one in a close one...Kingston doesn't have enough weapons this year...Givens isnt enough for Kingston to overwhelm Harriman this year....Kingston has always been known to beat Harriman because of their size and sheer depth, but this year Harriman has the size to go along with their speed should make for an interesting contest. I am looking forward to seeing this one.
  2. Well it's that time of the year again...Forget those computer power ratings lets be real, is this the year that Harriman beats Kingston? About those computer power ratings....why do they even do those for High School football?! Especially if they are going to be so far off..A 3-7 record for Harriman this year?! Crazy!
  3. if you go count heads at Harriman High School right now I gurantee you dont find 398....you may find 350 at the most...Harriman's enrollment has been dropping for the past few years. What this all boils down to is needing an excuse just in case if Harriman does actually beat Coalfield, which is very possible. Harriman will have to play well and there defense will have to contain Coalfield's playmakers. If u want to talk about anything in Coalfield talk about where there athletes are coming from...seems to me that Michael Gilbert was from Oakdale and looks like some others were from other places..No one brings up this fact but Harriman's student population is brought up? I think this will be a close one, but ill go with the Devils in a very close one.
  4. Once again Kingston defeated Harriman but the surprise was that Chad Johnston was not the force to be stopped on offense.....or Justin Givens for that matter in fact Chad did everything possible to keep Harriman in the game by fumbling....as for passing on third down with less than 3 minutes to go while up 21-0 nothing shows Kingston's class hasn't changed and Vic King hasn't changed. Any chance to run up the score is to be expected by Kingston....advice for Kingston better clean up the fumbles or it will be a very long year for Kingston with Harriman being the only victory...Good game Harriman showed lot of heart...There is always next year!
  5. No respect for Harriman on this post. Coalfield may be good, but I see these teams being very similar. Both with speed and both playing extremely well. I think Harriman will have Coalfield's number this year simply because last year the game was close and we have improved soo much. Both teams have big time playmakers and I look for many big plays from both teams. It is going to come down to leadership and I think Harriman has it this year. Harriman in a close one.
  6. I'm thinking as of right now Rockwood has the inside track to the county championship, definitely not Oliver Springs. They may not win a county game this year. I look for Harriman to make strong showing in the county games, but Kingston could slip in but i doubt it.
  7. I believe Wartburg lacks the speed to hang with Harriman. Harriman by 14 and this has the makings of a good year for the Devils and a long year for Wartburg.
  8. This was a good game and emotions were very well controlled besides for the occasional late hit or outburst. Both teams did look sloppy. I wasnt very impressed with Kingston at all. They need to pass the ball more. I was very impressed with #9 RB for Kingston. He ran hard and took his hits w/o showing any emotion. #34 if i can remember was one of the guys suspended for the hazing well I wish now they wouldnt have suspended him I think he fumbled 3 times in the 2nd half, he tried to give Harriman the game. He does need to learn some humility, you dont celebrate runs to rub it in someone's face after you have fumbled as many times as he did. Maybe he needs to stick to LB. Very impressed with Eble and I will again say he is the best QB in the county. Strong arm, accurate, and very good decisions. Wide Receivers from Harriman need to work on catching all week. If they come down with some of those passes in the first half then this would have been a different game and Eble may have thrown for 300 yards. This game reinstated the Harriman, Kingston rivalry and I think it has many people in the county not wanting to play Harriman. It is going to be a big year for Harriman. Best of luck to both teams.
  9. The guys on the football team who participated in the hazing are obviously going to get away with this and the sad thing is that Kingston's future is what is going to be hurt from this. I have heard of one of the freshman already transfering out of kingston probably to be followed by more. Whatever excitement about playing for Kingston is gone now and I look for numbers on the football team to drop in the future. All this does is hurt the school's rep, team's rep, and the future of that football team.
  10. I think this has the makings of an upset with Harriman's momentum off their first win and Kingston's off field distraction. Harriman will have to overcome Kingston's size. I do believe that Harriman wants this game more than Kingston and I look for Kingston to be sluggish and to lack the team unity, but even with that it will take a great game from Harriman to pull this one out. I do agree with you though goose the excitement is back in this rivalry game and I believe it will be an exciting game.
  11. Harriman has had 3 no win seasons in a row, but the thing I liked about last year's losing season that was different from the past two is that they didn't give up. This year if they can get by injuries I think they could possibly go .500. The only thing holding Harriman back this year may be there line. Jason Eble has the strongest arm in the county at the QB position and if he gets some WR to catch this year they could have some big play potential there. The backfield should be solid this year with Hall, Ivy, and Chatman. All 3 got a lot of playing time last year. I think the biggest thing is they have senior leadership this year who won't let the young players quit working. I look for Harriman to have a good year this year and to suprise many teams this year.
  12. What does everyone think about Harriman's football chances this year? is this the year they break out of there 4 year slump? I seem to think so and believe they will have a .500 year and make a push for the playoffs.
  13. Let's talk rationally here. If Harriman plays any where up to there potential then this won't be a game at all. Harriman has too much firepower for Coalfield to handle. If Harriman doesn't come ready to play then this could be a game. It goes back to the old saying any team can get beat on any day. This should be a good game.
  14. Harriman played as well as they could have with the referrees calling everything. I felt that the officiating of this game was awful. Two double dribble calls were called for nothing and fouls were called the wrong way. The Devils really outplayed the Bobcats more than the score said. The game wasn't as close as the score said. Adam Kreis was out sick which would have gave the devils at least 15 more points, but i do agree with BBallTN that if the Devils don't start playing together on the court then they won't go far. I saw arguments on the court and people pointing fingers. If the Devils ever come together then they will be dangerous. The Devil's biggest rival or threat might just be themselves right now.
  15. I'd pick the Devils winning easily over the Bobcats even with the football players returning to their lineup. Kreis should have a big game along with the rest of the Blue Devils. The key to the Devil's season will be whether or not Davis can become a presence to be reckoned with in the paint. If he steps up his game, then the Devils could go as far as they wanted.
