I would like to make a statement before Gomab puts up his rankings... Remember folks, he is one person...and it's solely his opinion. If you don't like where your kids are ranked (or not ranked), then don't rake him over the coals...just start your own rankings....He puts alot of his own time in these projects and rarely gets the thanks that he deserves. 02Wildcat, sorry you feel that way. I am originally from Baxter and I think most Baxterites (Baxterinians?) are nice, wonderful and upstanding people. I assume you are from Overton County (by your screen-name) and I too know many folks there that are great. With this being said, it really makes no sense for someone like yourself to come on a board like this to "call out" a whole community.

There is no doubt that Monica Chumney and Brandi Brown are two of the most talented players in 7AA and they are definately the most valuable players for their respective teams. That being said, I have to look at each team's record at this juncture for which team has had the most success. The one that really stands out to me is Upperman's Hillary Mead. With only two remaining district games, her team is undefeated in league play and she is certainly the catalyst/mvp of her squad...

I think Emily Christian did so at Upperman. She also played varsity her 8th grade year. Congrats to Danielle Rector at Temple!!!!

Yes, Taylor and McDaniel are both very good at Upperman, but Tisdale has really improved this year and so has Simmons. As a tandem of 4, they are probably the best group of Sophomores in the state.

Congrats to Smith County. You girls played a very good ballgame and keep the District PROUD in the regionals... To Upperman Lady Bees...it's been a great season for you. Yes, the season ended as a disappointment, but the future is very bright for you!!! To Magid...the previous post was just plain out-right ugly.

As an out of state Upperman fan, I want to say congrats to Gordonsville for their outstanding season. Hopefully you guys will go far in the tournament. It's no shocker to see Gordonsville do really well, as I remember a few years back when they could hold their own with any team in the Upper Cumberland area (regardless of classification). The old rivalry games with Upperman and Gordonsville were pretty awesome and it's a shame they don't schedule each other any more (in basketball at least).

It's still early in the season, BUT if I had to choose right now... AAA Sevier County over Mt Juliet (but if Fuller and Newman are healthy at year's end, I may have to put Shelbyville in there) AA Livingston over Jackson County (something just tells me that LA may be better, but NEVER count out JC) A Tough one to call, but I think it goes back to Gleason this year with Clay County as runner-up.

Hands down...two of the best in the state are LaToya Bullard and Jessica Jackson out of Memphis. Watch for both to go to high profile D-1 schools in two years...

02Wildcat...Thanks for the clarification...yes, Emily should help TTU when she fully recovers. It's true, Upperman doesn't have that post presence anymore and they are a completely different team from the Christian and Heidi Mead days...Should be a pretty good game, but being an Upperman fan, I have to be realistic; I really don't think they can hang with JC for the entire ballgame. The intensity should be there, but the Lady Bees have historically shot poorly in JC's home gym (I'm sure that has alot to do with the Lady Blue Devils defense). I am pleasantly surprised how Upperman is playing this year...as I would have thought it would take the UHS freshman players another year or so, to make some noise in the district.

02 Wildcat...I do not post on this board, but the comment about "So Called Player - Christian" was a bad remark. Emily is a fantastic player and doesn't deserve that (in fact no player deserves a remark like that).
