  1. How do you even sleep at night? Apparently, you are consumed with thoughts of Upperman football. Almost every post you've made for WEEKS are about unfair advantages that Upperman is in a more populated county. Give it a rest dude!
  2. It should reflect that the Upperman Middle School football program has been very successful for the past several years; therefore, it is just not players transferring in high school.
  3. There is also the Whistle Stop Pizzeria in downtown Baxter. Not sure the hours though...
  4. That is incorrect. Akira Levy is rated the 55 best player in the nation according to the 2018 ESPN Hoopgurlz ranking. I would affirm that would be considered "elite".
  5. I've been a member of this board a LONG time and rarely post but I have to say I've never seen a school's fans COMPLAIN, WHINE AND DO MORE WHINING about refs like Livingston. Win or lose...the refs are out to get them... Geez...you guys are sounding like bitter bettys...
  6. It would not surprise me to see Dunn and Nash as co-mvps.
  7. Although many of you discount Ty's ability, I do have to say that he did impress several coaches in the Scout/Army Junior camp in San Antonio last year. http://www.unapproved website.com/article/?id=100002 I'm not too sure of the CSA PrepStar's reputation, but dare say again, the kid does have talent and is being courted by several high profile name schools. It's a shame that some people trash athletes/students...regardless of your school allegiance.
  8. Years ago (maybe 6-7?), Upperman was in the single A classification and Jackson County was in the AA classification (of course now it's reversed). At that time, Upperman's biggest rival was Gordonsville. There were many, many battles year in and year out (specifically the Emily Christian/Brooke Armistead years). The UHS/GHS game(s) were probably the most anticipated of the year. Going back even further Clay and Pickett Counties were big rivals (moreso boys though). Upperman's girls teams were not very good from the mid eighties until Wayne Shanks (now principal of Cookeville High) took over for Coach Peggy. Since Dana McWilliams took over the helm, UHS girls stepped it up to a new level... Oddly enough the tandem of Dana (Bilyeu) McWilliams and JoJo Harris started the sharpshooter era at Upperman.
  9. In my opinion, the game was fairly called... Go Lady Bees and Lady Wildcats...represent!
  10. Upperman won by 5...final 67-62.
  11. I've seen quite a few posts from other teams regarding when they play Upperman. Seems as if they always say "so and so didn't play well against Upperman". Do you think it's because Upperman forces other teams play bad??? Just an observation...
  12. Upperman is a very, very good team, but I still do not concur they are the best team in AA. Traditionally, Upperman starts the season very strong but wear down as the season progresses. That being said, they probably have their deepest bench in many years (maybe ever), so we'll see what happens this year. I do have to give Coach McWilliams credit though, she has not lost a member of this senior class although two or three had started earlier in their career but now come off the bench (giving way the starts to younger players). Their chemistry is outstanding and the senior's leadership is invaluable. Who knows, this may be their year...
  13. Karissa Dyer at Upperman. Freshman 6'3" center is averaging around 20 ppg in first few games.
  14. I love watching Chelsey play defense. She really has the all the skills and is such an unselfish player. Plus she's a natural leader and I think the whole team looks up to her... Congrats Chelsey!
  15. Cornerstone Middle girls in Baxter is undefeated the past two seasons and are the two time champs in the AA Division of the James Haile Tournament. They beat their opponent in this years championship game 62-31. It's a shame that there isn't a true state championship game to really determine who is the best...
  16. Upperman won 58 to 47. Two freshman Lady Bees (Jennifer Maynard with 16 and LaShay Davis with 13) led UHS in scoring. Kristie Apple had 21 for JCHS Lady Blue Devils. Looks like UHS had J County's number this year!!! Three in a row baby!!!
  17. Shame on her coach for allowing this to happen...No class, I tell ya!
  18. I'll take Upperman by 6. Should be a great game and standing room only in Gainesboro!
  19. I'll leave #1 and #2 ...as is... Congrats to the Upperman Lady Bees on winning a tough Mid South Classic over Jackson County Lady Blue Devils!
  20. Well let's give this a try...since there are 20 teams in the 14 county Upper Cumberland area, then I'll just rank the top ten (11) (and this again is just my opinion FWIW). 1. Upperman 2. Jackson County 3. Cumberland County 4. York 5. Livingston Academy 6. Cookeville 7. White County 8. Clarkrange 9. Smith County 10. Red Boiling Springs 10. Macon County
  21. Candace Parker is from Illinois. She did not go to Narbonne (although many good players did matriculate there)....
  22. Sounds like a pretty good game. Miss Hembree had 18 points and several of the Upperman ladies were in the 8-12 range point-wise. UHS wins 69-57. What impresses me is the balance scoring of the Upperman girls....
