  1. Nice info! Red Bank would have helped SP schedule. Wish we could have played.
  2. I don’t get into this stuff on here much because most of it is stupid. However, we don’t have half of Jasper’s team. We actually only have one kid from there that gets playing time and he sat out an entire season due to injury. Most of this SP team has played together for a very long time. We’ve had a great core group of kids together since they were 5-6 years old. They have always won at every level. I really don’t care who anyone else has either. I like our team and this group of kids. We don’t make excuses either. Win lose or draw. It’s coming!
  3. Michael Oher has a step son that plays RT for Lipscomb. One of Tim McGraw and Faith Hill's daughters is a cheerleader there too. Yes it is true those two could be in attendance at The Swamp this week.
  4. SP losing our spotlight? That’s comical to say the least. SP has been the best and most consistent program in 1A football for a very long time. We aren’t a one trick pony like we saw last season in 1A. We’re just consistently a solid team year in and year out. One thing is certain though. Win, lose, or draw it’s coming!
  5. In reference to the CB first score. The ENTIRE starting secondary was out. 21(MLB), and 53(DT) were the only starters still rotating in the game on your first score. We subbed freely the entire game. As for the end of the game on offense. It is true our starting QB was still standing behind the second team line and handing the ball off to the 3rd strong backfield.
  6. Congrats to Copper Basin. They are improved this year. The game was 50-0 when SP starters were pulled. Basin had under 70 yards of offense at that point. The QB had also been picked off twice. The 18 points all came against second team guys late in the fourth quarter. Good luck in the playoffs.
  7. I agree about growing tired of reading that junk but we have not been the king of transfers for 30 plus years. That’s not an accurate statement. We’ve had a few like anyone else but we have mostly home town kids that have come up through our Rec league.
  8. No sir, it’s just one calendar year from your date of last participation. The kid is doing a good job playing some O and D line for us now.
  9. It’s cool. Process of elimination. It’s just always good to know where you stand with folks. That works both ways. You must be a die hard parent to be watching film on SP. See you in 7 weeks.
  10. Watching the game huh? That means either Meigs or Oneida sent it to you. Interesting but good to know.
  11. I couldn’t sleep. It’s been a long 3 weeks between games. Time to see how we measure up. Let’s go!
  12. We have our hands full in this one. Meigs has a very good team lead by a great player in Swafford. I think the players on both sides will love playing in this atmosphere on Friday.
  13. I made by Big Ones picks. Greenback only getting 58% of the votes in this game is crazy to me. Greenback will mercy rule Coalfield in this one. They are as good as advertised this year. Getting the QB from Maryville has put them over the top. He's just that durn good. He makes your team 28 points better than you would have been. He is just a Very impressive player.
  14. You are right. Its ridiculous they were brought into that MS conference. However people should know now how it works. They changed the conference bylaws the last few seasons to fit agendas. The 7th grade RB from Spring City is definitely the real deal as well.
  15. We have close to 300 in our school grades 9-12. I believe the 382 number was counting 7-8 grades last season.
  16. Greenback is one of the top teams in 1A. They are just as good as any of the top 2-3 teams. It will be an extremely tough game for us when we come there in November. Have a great night.
  17. Swafford and Carnes will be the two best players we see this season. Both are both amazing talents.
  18. I can promise you Greenback is as good as any of us 3. I’ve seen them play. The transfers they got in the off season absolutely puts them at least on the same field as the other 3 of us. Good luck the rest of the year.
  19. Greenback assembled a great team this year. It’s not surprising that they are starting to click on all cylinders. They will be a handful for anyone.
  20. SPA has beaten the conference champion in 2017 and 2018 but didn’t get to play in the championship game. This year they swept all the real Sequatchie Valley teams this season but finish 2nd. It’s really ridiculous the way it’s been handled.
  21. They constantly change the rules to fit agendas. It’s a shame how it’s went down the past three years. Two years ago we lost an out of conference regular season game to Boyd Buchanan. It knocked us out of our league championship game even though no one else in the conference played them. Last year they changed that tie breaker rule after the regular season was finished that allowed Bledsoe in the conference game and knocking us out of it again. This year they bring in Spring City who has no business in the “Sequatchie Valley Conference.” Lets just be honest... It’s a circus is what it is.
  22. We didn’t recruit ANY player. I don’t post much but the statement about is a ridiculous statement. Greenback has more transfer starters on one team than we’ve had in the past 5 seasons. Good luck the rest of the season and Lord willing we will see you in about 12 weeks.
  23. 98% of the kids are homegrown kids. The nucleus has been playing together for a very long time. Some new kids have joined, but MOST of the starters on this team have been playing together since MS and many since little league. 2 offensive starters have joined us in HS and those same two kids also start on defense. The other 9 starters on each side of the ball have been doing this together since they were 6-7 years old.
  24. Bingo.. Let’s build some depth and get ready for week 1. #8 will be eligible to play week 2. Go Pirates! .
