  1. I don't think there starters played entire first half. There top two WR have like a combined 7 rec on season and the 3rd string back has as many carries as the first, so WHAT should they do ?? Against Powell they were that bad, there was NO way they could have not scored 83, Powell didn't even attempt to tackle most plays, I guess coach should have said to the boys "trip and fall don't score".... When you have ONE play drives for scores not a lot of time goes off clock.
  2. Wasn't there to say did/not happen but that had to be in the FIRST half based on score and SCREEN come on, that's running it up in your mind throwing the ball BEHIND the LOS in the first half. If was some type of vertical route I could see an argument but SCREEN isn't much different than a handoff they both happen behind the LOS.
  3. Before the game tonight I'd said Alcoa all the way but after watching I'd say West but would be one of those "whoever makes the breaks"... Would give slight nod to West. They impressed me a lot tonight, was a good game, Maryville was tough.
  4. RR your "theory" makes sense but if you were at the Powell game what would you have done different to keep from scoring, FHS scored twice before 2 min left the clock and before 3 min left the clock they had scored 21. They ran 11 offensive plays in 2nd half ALL runs and generated 35 points. So I guess you tell the Soph and Frosh to not score, does that solve it... I was at that game and I really don't know what they could have done differently except let linemen run the ball like Little League teams do some for fun.
  5. Unicoi, Scott and Claiborne are threats to Fulton, this is getting good.... Some of the other listed teams yeah you can argue they could knock them off b/c those are some good programs with good players but the three I singled out could merge together and still lose by 50. I'm not even a Falcon fan (although I do pull for them most times).
  6. No way West should be ranked ahead of Fulton nor Alcoa. They're good but should not be ahead of those two in my opinion.
  7. Sounds like easy going for Rebs... In Knox Co it varies by age group who is the strongest teams. I know West Youth teams generally are some of the weaker across the entire city/county in any age they field a team. As for Fulton it depends on the age group, the 12's show a 0-2 record on Knox Metro league standing site. Based on scores I've seen on Knox Metro league site looks in 8u Fulton rules, in 10u Fulton rules, in 12u Central rules. As for 9's and 11's Fulton is in first place currently in the young season... It's good that those youth teams from Blount and Knox are playing one another.
  8. That's impressive and congrats on unbeaten season to date and to say Fulton is your toughest game is a compliment to them it sounds. It sounds like will be a good game. I may have to make that one. You guys play a good schedule at Middle School by looks of it...
  9. I had heard few weeks back some Knox County teams from Central, Fulton and few others will be playing some Maryville (Blount Co) area youth teams does anyone know how those games went. I don't think the counties have crossed paths much over the years at youth level but was good to hear that they were now playing one another...
  10. Did see Falcons week 1 (Powell) that was bad! Based on what little I've seen if they don't reach 80 they will be in the neighborhood of it. Not seen AE but they've not scored a touchdown yet not a good sign going in to week that your playing Fulton.
  11. I have heard that Brentwood Academy is always good at Middle School, I see one reason why excellent coaching. If Fulton beat MBA that's impressive. Does Fulton play Brentwood this year ?
  12. Man, I will have to make point to go watch if they're that good. I heard Central had a real good 8th Grade team this year in Knox...
  13. West isn't better than Alcoa so your safe!! I would say Alcoa is better at every unit on the field, with RB's giving an even edge, Alcoa has a horse for a back and West has a speedster. I say Maryville wins handily.... But that's why they play the game!
  14. When schedules were set two years ago both Bearden and Powell were 5/6A annual playoff teams quality opponents for most anyone in East Tenn. Who would have known two years later they were not going to be very good, maybe themselves but not someone from another program. I saw the Powell game if you were there then you KNOW they didn't run it up, if I read stats right they ran 11 second half plays and five were scores. What do you do tell your 3rd string back fall down when he TOO deserves to score if he's able... I can't speak for Bearden game but I did see 70-0 at half, whether they sub or not in first half you got to play your guys for a least a half, they practice ALL week and deserve to play regardless if the opponent is any good. You only are guaranteed 10 games per season they invest ALOT of time in winter, spring, summer and fall to only play a series or two. At some point the opponent has to stop someone... Besides running backwards I'm not sure how you can tell your offense not too score. I know 80 points don't seam realistic without effort but it's truly what has happened for them in their first two games. Fulton has best collection of skill guys in East Tenn and they are SR heavy (great combination for success in high school football) if I understand right, there SR class has won big ALL way back to there pee wee days.
  15. Maryville will dog stomp West unless something crazy happens. I'm calling ALOT to a little. West couldn't beat Alcoa so they're not ready for MHS. Little surprise to see Maryville run away with it... Things will be fine Tornado fans with that schedule you got you will win out by 30+ each week. Well until week 10 and it's possible you could win that one going away....... If Sevier Co can only muster 35 against Bearden then they will get rolled by Maryville.
  16. I hear some of the Blount youth teams are playing some from Knox Co this year. That's good for both counties. Good teams at youth level can get better by playing other good teams... I heard Maryville Middle looked good in 7v7 from a friend who worked the FCA Camp I think MMS, Greenville and Fulton were the top three at the FCA Middle School 7v7.
  17. Lots of talent within that 4 miles always been impressed with the accomplishments of the Blount Co teams. But I understand why they're different schools two different cities and two different school systems (I think) but Knox County AE and Fulton same town same school system and neither school very big in terms of enrollment, combined they'd somewhere around equal an enrollment of Maryville or some 6A schools... Few other Knox County schools have short distance between the two as well HV, Karns, Farragut but at least those schools have large enrollments.
  18. It's no secret that East Tenn as a whole is under recruited IMO. Middle Tennessee had more four star prospects this year than East Tennessee has had in 5+ years... Knoxville has talent as does Blount and other ETN counties. IMO Knox County has too many schools, saturates the talent in terms of programs having tons of success. If I'm right 17 schools in Knox County play football. Too many for a town the size of Knox. Some public schools in Knox are located 3-4 miles apart. Crazy!
  19. Great post! I didn't even know there was that much population difference. Rutherford is much smaller in population than Knox Co and puts out more D1 talent than Knoxville as well.
  20. Can't argue with Blount Co success in championships. Very impressive what the two schools have done. But Rutherford County I'm "guessing" puts out a good bit more D1 players than Blount. I don't have facts or stats but off top of my head I think so anyways. Again Cannot argue success Blount Co has had in football in winning championships. I do think though that's what hurts Rutherford Co schools is "nearly" all of them are solid so the kids go where they zoned and then you have the privates swiping some too. In Blount Co fact is if you can play you attend one of two schools, if ALL schools in Blount were competitive then I would "think" the top two may have one or two less trophies in the buildings b/c talent would be more spread out. Talent is more saturated in RC for sure. Both counties play good football.
  21. CPA was solid last year no question. They handed it to Giles early when I think Giles was trying to figure itself out (my guess) due to heavy graduation loss and new coach... And I don't think Giles was 2nd best in 4A last year but the way the bracket was drawn up they finished 2nd. I thought SS and Greeneville were better opponents for Fulton last year. Not knocking Giles b/c they've had a lot of success over the years and thought they caught fire at the right time last season and had a great year. I never watched them play only going off scores from afar.
  22. 3A is no secret Alcoa... 3A isn't very good once you get past Alcoa. CAK had some good teams for a while but fell WAY off last year, I'm sure they will be improved but in 3A it's Alcoa's show... In 4A it's much more wide open.
  23. What little Fulton had that's pretty funny. No discipline not sure you can win back to back titles with NO discipline. Not sure where that comment comes from but shows what little you actually know about Fulton and when reading the what little they had comment then I know to take nothing serious you say... I would say those D1 schools who offered 5 of a Fulton SR last year thought they could play a little... And what little they had only broke the state scoring record by a landslide and in most games starters played 2 quarters and last 3 games without MR Football not many can lose that type player and still score 40+ and win state title.
