  1. Here is Rhea's kicker http://m.timesfreepress.com/news/2014/nov/26/norwegian-kicker-provides-boost-for-rhea/?sportspreps
  2. I would say that is pretty accurate. Rhea has s good core group coming back. Ooltewah will be loaded again next year. Cleveland I hear will be young but good. Walker Valley and McMinn could challenge to finish higher. I think Soddy and White will finish as you predicted. Rhea vs Ooltewah will be very entertaining next year
  3. Looking forward to making the trip up to Evensville again. One of my favorite high school stadiums. The pregame tailgating and the little grove area is pretty cool. The in-game atmosphere is one of the best around. For visiting teams it is one tough place to play but as a fan it is an incredible place. I think West is the better team but last time I said that Rhea dropped 47 on Ooltewah.
  4. Good game tonight I was pretty impressed with Knox West and South Doyle. West finished strong after a slow start. The match up with Rhea will be interesting.
  5. Rhea dosnt throw it much that is for sure, but then again when they run for 4400 yards they really hadn't need to throw it.
  6. Another good site that does articles and highlights for Rhea is the rheareview.com http://rheareview.com/tag/rhea-county-football/
  7. Nice article on the game. http://chattanoogan.com/2014/11/11/288325/Unbeatens-Ooltewah-Rhea-Prep-For-5A.aspx
  8. This is an interesting matchup of two completely different styles. Rhea is definitely slower than Ooltewah, but Rhea is more physical and their offense is hard to stop because they execute it so well. Ooltewah with its pass first mentality will give Rhea's secondary a big time test. The two times I have watched Rhea, their secondary looked shaky and out of position a lot. Run defense on the other hand is stout. Of course Doug Greene's defense will be prepared for Rhea, and will have to play very disciplined to slow down that rushing attack. Rhea is a very tough place to play but very nice stadium and great atmosphere. Weather could also become a factor in this game since it is going to be pretty cold during the game. For Rhea to win they are going to have to make this a very ugly grinding type game and hope their secondary can hold up against a great passing attack. Ooltewah should be favored to win because they are the better team. I'm looking forward to this one.
  9. I can't speak for academics of some of these schools but as far as other area powerhouses in Knox and Blount County. Alcoa, Knox West, Fulton, Webb School, CAK, Knox Catholic, and even though Farragut and Bearden have been down lately. They both have proud football histories. Oak Ridge in Anderson County also a powerhouse.
  10. This is going to be good. Doug Greene returns to Evensville.
  11. Good to see East Tennessee got split into 4 regions.
  12. Game time is 7 easternFrom Pikeville coming down 111 to 27 it will be about 15 miles from there. The exit is Morrison Springs Road take a right at the bottom of the ramp the school is on the left at the bottom of the hill.
  13. It is an interesting match up. I know Bledsoe is riding some momentum into the playoffs but can Bledsoe handle the athletes that Red Bank has? Bledsoe has a chance but they are going to have to play a solid game all around to beat a pretty good Red Bank team.
  14. Something like this happened between Cleveland and Rhea County about 10 years ago where they got in a big brawl after the game in week 10. Both of them were put on two year probation but were allowed to play in the playoffs next week
  15. Zach Daoust of Rhea was unstoppable tonight. Ran for 251 of Rhea's 545. Wow
  16. Won't Melrose be the the 4 seed in Quad 4 since they are currently the Runner up and have a 7-2 record?
  17. I think it comes down to which team can pass the ball. If East Hamilton can pass the ball they may give Rhea a game. East Hamilton is one of those teams you do not want to play right now. Rhea has a very good run defense but a suspect pass defense. Rhea has one of the best running games in the state so they really don't need to throw the ball to often. Rhea will get their yards on the ground like they do. Should be a good game for both teams.
  18. Quad 2 is the Quad of Death this year if it holds true the top 4 would be a combined 39-1. That is tough
  19. 2 sophomores that come to mind Skye Wilson RB/LB Signal Mountain. If he can come back from his knee injury. Cody Bice Rhea County RB/CB.
  20. Looks like the old district is back together with Rhea coming back. I don't see Bradley staying up in 6A. Would East Ham try to play up?
  21. I don't see Bradley Central staying in the Super 32. There is absolutely no other 6A school even near them.
  22. Seeding will be set by record. If two or more teams have the same record they go through a tie breaker system.http://football.tssaa.org/reports/detailrecords.cfm?schoolid=226 Henry would be the top seed based on tie breakers currently
  23. I think Lawrence if they finish 2nd in the district I could see them at a 3 or 4 seed in Quad 3, but there is still a lot can happen in the next 3 weeks
  24. So just for fun I had some free time today and looked over the 5A playoffs. Just taking a guess how the rest of the season will play out. There are a few teams that could be in or out and some who still have an opportunity to improve their record and move up or get shuffled down like Ridgeway Who is good example they have a good chance of going 9-1 or could end up 6-4. Also in East Tennessee there is a chance for Quad 2 to be the Quad of Death with the potential to have Ooltewah and Rhea being 10-0 and then having Oak Ridge and Knox West at 9-1. I think Knox West goes Quad 1 for right now. I think 6-4 will get in for sure, 5-5 will come down to tie breakers District 1 Current Record Projection/Quad TN High 4-2 7-3-1 David Crockett 4-3 5-5-Bubble/1 Boone 3-3 4-6-Bubble District 2 South Doyle 6-0* 10-0-1 Mo West 4-2 7-3-1 District 3 Anderson 7-0* 10-0-1 Oak Ridge 6-0$ 9-1-2 Campbell 5-2 8-2-1 Clinton 4-3 6-4-2 Knox Central 3-3 6-4-2 Gibbs 3-3 5-5-Bubble/1 District 4 Knox West 5-1$ 9-1-1 Lenior City 3-3 5-5-Bubble District 5 Ooltewah 7-0* 10-0-2 Cleveland 3-4$ 5-5-2 Soddy 4-2 7-3-2 District 6 Rhea Co 6-0* 10-0-2 Stone 4-3 5-5-2 White Co 3-4 4-6-Bubble District 8 Shelbyville 4-2* 8-2-3 Lawrence Co 5-2$ 7-3-3 Tullahoma 4-3 6-4-3 Columbia 4-3 6-4-3 District 9 Beech 4-3$ 6-4-3 Gallatin 3-3 5-5-3/Bubble District 10 Henry 5-2* 8-2-4 Springfield 6-1$ 9-1-3 Clarksville 4-3 5-5-4/Bubble Kenwood 3-4 4-6-Bubble Clarksville NW 3-4 5-5-4/Bubble District 12 Hillsboro 7-0* 10-0-3 District 13 Mumford 6-1* 8-2-4 Hardin Co. 4-2$ 6-4-4 District 14 Millington 6-1$ 8-2-4 District 15 Ridgeway 5-1 8-2-4 District 16 Memphis East 6-1$ 7-3-4 Melrose 4-2 8-2-4 Hamilton 3-3 4-6-Bubble *=District Champions $= District Runner-Up
