  1. Then that would put Anderson Co right on the bubble again. Because Baylor which is bigger then Catholic would be the last team in 3A/ Football AA (Before Multiplier) But they would both still play in 4A / AA Of course this can all be screwed up if a team chooses to play up or if one of the private schools decide to go DII, What a mess!!!!
  2. Catholic has 695 multiplier is 1.8. This would put them at an enrollment of 1251. I believe this is how the multiplier works. I figured any private school with numbers of 575-1000 will be in AAA. I believe these are Private Schools with 575-1000. I am not an expert on Private Schools so if these are wrong let me know. St Benedict Father Ryan Christian Brothers Baylor Knox Catholic McCallie Pope John Paul II This would make Tullahoma the last AAA School. Again this is the best I can figure it.
  3. St. Benedict at Auburndale might also be a multiplier effecting AAA. They would put Anderson Co as the largest AA. This also depends on if any of the private schools decide to go DII
  4. Here are Numbers I figured without private school multiplier. 46 Current Division II Schools. 382 Total Schools that count. 382-46=336 Eligible Teams. 112 Teams per classification. Craigmont (1002) would be cutoff for AAA, Mitchell High (528) would be cutoff for AA. Multiplier Teams will effect the Outcome of these cutoff schools. Does anyone know what schools are multipliers. I believe Schools that will effect AAA with Multiplier are: Father Ryan Baylor Knox Catholic If these 3 are correct then Sullivan Central would be largest AA School and Anderson Co would be Smallest AAA.
  5. The reason why some games are terrible is because those schools dont mind Packard stealing donations and ads from local businesses. I have talked to several AD's and after one time w/ Packard Productions they wouldn't let him back. He requested a list of current donors, and then drove all of the schools donors crazy. He bleeds money from the communities he goes into. i do love watching the games on Thursdays, but its not about the kids. Its about the money for Packard Productions. Packard does belittle kids. Several years ago a local kid was going to be on his Thursday show for basketball. The kid got caught in traffic, and once he arrived Packard treated him so poorly that he left. The kid arrived in plenty of time to shoot his pre-recorded show.
  6. I love how AC loses a few close games, and everyone wants to sign-up for a new screen name and bash the team, coaches, and kids. The good thing is I know a lot of AC people, and they're a lot classier then the recently new CoachT Members.
  7. I agree. These idiots get on here and try to throw coaches under the bus. At Clinton there is a lack of depth. I wont say talent, because that would be disrespectful to the kids they have. One problem is several kids transferring out of the school, and this is mostly due to administration and academics. Most people don't realize that Kerr didn't even work in the building his first year at Clinton. They wouldn't move anyone around for his teaching position. So he has gone a full year without being able to recruit the hallways. Now he is at the school, and will be able to recruit the hallways, but he won't see that payoff until the spring. If they push Kerr out the door, it will only set Clinton back further. The team seems to be improving each week, problem is they have started in a hole further then most. Give Kerr time and it will come around.
  8. With all honesty I have a hard time putting a lot of stock in your opinions. If your football knowledge is as low as your grammar skills, then there is probably not a lot there.
  9. There is nothing wrong with AC coaches. They are preparing kids appropriately for situations they face on the field. Coaches can't go out and execute the plays for them. You get to the point as a fan where you have to face the fact that the team is less talented then you would expect. As of right now AC has a couple of big play guys on offense and defense, but people with football knowledge know that games are usually won by the unspoken heroes on the field. The kids that are willing to do the little things without notoriety might be what AC is missing. One thing that I have noticed is the AC teams are steadily going down hill the past 3 years, and it might have something to do with the middle school teams splitting, or maybe it is getting several transfers from Clinton. My point is maybe something can be said for having kids play together in middle school and develop chemistry before they get to high school.
  10. I was told by a west coach that he has completed his credit recovery for his course work, but the state has not received the letter from Lenoir City stating he transfered for reasons other then athletics. I would think LC would considering they fired his guarding at the time, and kicked him off the team. I believe he deserves that, but by no means is Camion the victim. He brought most of this on himself.
  11. Thats becasue Campbell Co always had a running clock in the second half. AC kept it close enough where the clock didn't run. They did put up 45 points. Space you said no one was from CC on the team a couple years ago. Refresh my memory where the QB (Williams) was from. I couldnt remember, but I didn't think he came from Norris or Lake City.
  12. Wes Jones has coached under a great coach (Norris) at 2 high quality programs. He played ball at Oliver Springs. I do not believe he has experience running a program whether it be middle or high. He has a very dull personality so it will be interesting to see if he can keep kids excited about playing basketball. They should of hired the Assistant Coach at Anderson Co. He has coached under 2 great coaches Wallace (AC) and Wells (LC). He has also ran middle school programs on 2 different occasions. He was also one of the guys that started the Pyro AAU team, so he has that experience in starting up programs that can develop future players. He also has the personality that you would want running your program. Oh well, I guess maybe next time, but unfortunately he won't be around then. Good Luck to Harriman. Don't give your administration to hard of time over this hire. I can definitely see the appeal both Coaching Experience wise and more importantly Teaching Experience wise.
  13. I think Vittetoe from Union County is in the top 5 after his 30 points vs Fulton. Top 15 is a great spot for Tyler V. He is in the top 5 players from Union County though. I feel this list is very good. My next few would be: Hunley (Farragut) Langley (Maryville) Alred (Clinton, probably should be top 15) Broussard (Catholic) Bennett (Carter) Holloway (Central) Stone (Clinton) Worthington (Anderson Co) McBee (Central) Ross (Halls, I think thats his name) White (Bearden)
  14. They play in January. It will be an extremely tough match-up for both teams. Can't wait for this one.
  15. Smith is a kid that seems to be irreplaceable. He really set his team mates up well especially Tyler V. Losing coach Jesse was by far the biggest factor of Union Co's team, and the made an extremely questionable hire with their new coach. I know Jesse left, but the word was that people around there were unhappy that he didn't do more with his team last year.
  16. They both could pass as a grizzly bear depending on McNeelys beard. They look more like D1 offensive lineman then actual athletes. The question would be is Lollar their little cub.
  17. Central - looks the best on paper. They are playing some very challenging games to begin the season, so we will have to see how goo they actually are in district play. Top 2 in District. Clinton - might be the best team in the district when all is said and done. They have tons of athleticism, 2 tough guards, and now they have a big man underneath that likes to bang and do the small things. Overall: Top 2 in District. Oak Ridge - Extremely young, and they have a new coach that seems to have a grasp of where these youngsters are heading. The will lose many early, but no one will want to draw this team in the district tourney because they should be the most improved team by far. Powell - A potential lethal big man if he is actually used this year. Who really knows how they will fair, from my understanding they do not participate in a lot of off season practices or camps. If that is true they will start behind the 8 ball but come Tourney time who knows. Overall: Top 4 in District. Anderson County - Seems to be putting W's up, but how will they truly fair against the big boys I have no clue. The Smith kid that transfered seems to be one of the best players in the district, so we will have to see how far that will take the Mavs. Overall: Top 4 in District. Halls - Again no one knows much about them yet. They should be scrappy as usual. We see how having a coach that coaches both boys and girls does for them. I have heard that their girls team is pretty solid so his time might be more spent with them. Campbell County - Seems to be playing about 10 players with a good mix of young and old. The coach has been known to unorthodox at times, but that might not be a bad thing in this district. Overall: Could be pushing the Mavs or Panthers out of that 4th spot. We will wait and see. Hardin Valley - I know very little about them. I assume they will be a lot like Oak Ridge in the way they are young and will be improving though out the year. I don't see them in the top 4 by they might just surprise some people. We will find out more when they play Anderson Co this Friday. Karns - I put them last on the list because it will probably be the same ol' story. They will win some games they shouldn't and lose some they shouldn't. Until they break the normal mold of Karns athletics I refuse to put them as a force in any sport or district. Overall: I hope they prove me wrong and have a great year, but might be fighting for one of the last spots in the district. This post was made strictly by what I have seen and heard in spring, summer, fall, and so far this season. Would love to hear others thoughts on this district. On another note this district could potentially be swept by District 4 in the region tourney, but that is many moons away.
  18. Agreed. Coaching of youth athletics is mostly to blame with the poor fundamentals. Too many upward programs and not enough good competitive rec leagues around anymore. 3 point line has been around, and it doesn't effect habits if they are not proper mechanics. Kids need to learn to shoot with their legs. That is one of the biggest problems now a days. Every kid wants to sling it up there without a clue that their distance comes from their legs.
  19. I agree she is extremely talented, but comparing any high school female ball player ever to Bird or Magic is ridiculous. I give the girl her do, she is extremely gifted, lets just not jump off the deep end about it.
  20. Those are some impressive scores by these young ladies.
  21. A beating is in the making for the AC Mavs I'm affraid. Oak Ridge has talent and coaching. Oak Ridge by as many as they want.
  22. Let the bands play until the TSSAA decides to do something about it.
  23. I guess I missed something. What was the issue you had Govman? I really enjoy your opinions on athletics so please clue me in. Also, now that they have gone to this AAA system are the smaller divisions inside the AAA, AA, and A gong to get shafted. I see that it could be impossible for a 5A-AAA player to beat out a 6A-AAA player if they have the same resume and could even play the same opponents in this crazy system. Look at the winners only one smaller Division team had a winner, and that was South Pittsburg inn 1A-A. You telling me the Toney kid from Alcoa who set 3 or so state records isn't Mr. Football.
  24. Question, and please don't take offense. Why isn't Cookeville Basketball very good? They have one of the largest schools in the state, and have one of the best facilities. Is their feeder programs poor, is their rec leagues any count? Please feel me in. I'm just curious, I'm not trying to pick a fight, I've just always wondered.
  25. So who actually won the tournament? Also, I had heard that Halls had a very solid girls team this year. Is there any truth to this?
