Showtime,who is the player you mentioned from WC.McGavock has the talent from top to bottom to make the state and Hillsboro can't be overlooked they return three staters and could make some serious noise.

Hillsboro High Administrators were faced with naming a coach for the boys basketball team just days before the school started.They didn't have any applicants they were impressed with and decided to go with a faculty member for this upcoming season and reopen the job after the season. Hats off to Principal Lawson and the search committee for not settling for less and waiting for more time and better applicants.Hillsboro is one of the better schools in the midstate area and the players deserve the best they can find. I have been troubled with the way coaches in Metro Nashville get jobs and have them for life no matter what their recordsare, or how they dedicate themselves to the job.With the firings this year of two underperforming coaches at schools that have been full of talent maybe this signals a change of direction for Metro athletics. At the county schools and schools from smaller cities it is show up or get shown the door.

Tennessee Flight beat the California Swish by 3 pts to finish 5-0 in pool play and face the Orlando Comets this evening at 6 pm.Kiki Stewart was a no show for this tournament and the Tn. Flight picked up Janay Armstrong and Kendra Phillips.Janay went down with a injury in the game against the Michigan Crossover and is day to day.Brandi Brown and Kendra picked up the slack inside and Cait the Great played inspired basketball as the Flight came back from as many as 12 down to take the lead with 1:38 left in the game.

A day of rest probably was not the reason, these girls are in good shape and are used to playing under these circumstances,avoiding #1 seed Fencor seemed to be the likely reason which didn't work out because of another team losing and putting them back on course to play Fencor who doesn't appear unbeatable. Chris Brown who runs Hooptown and the Team Pride Club is on the bench with his team and I'd be surprised if he let that happen. Five reasons they didn't show up: 1.They got lost. 2.Hotel clerk didn't give them their wake up call. 3.Dog ate their playing schedules. 4.Dog ate their directions. 5.All of their vehicles were sabotaged by Showtime 7

This team should not have been allowed to compete. The rules say you must have six players to start the game and against the Flight they only had five.

Last year Tn. had a national champion at 15-u a runnerup at 16-u and 5th place finishes at both of those age groups.There may have been a slide in some age groups but I don't think we have fallen much when you look at the overall picture.

The tournament had its bumps but went pretty smoothly considering the transition this group is going thru .There were some of the usual complaints u get at tournaments,such as home cooking, bracket fixing,playernapping and stale popcorn but despite who was on the clocks I didn't witness or hear of any problems.

My daughter did the same thing when she was entering the eighth grade and the high school coach said it legal as long as she was zoned for the school which she was.When the eighth grader plays in a regular season high school game that player must attend school on the same campus as the high school.

We Went to UT and MTSU for elite camps last year and thought the MTSU was the better of the two with more girls concerned about playing ball and not the kiddies just there to get autographs

Rick's daughter gave up basketball after her injury in the fall of 2003. I believe she started modeling and he gave up coaching as well.I did see the Swoosh this year at the Cheatham Co.AAU substate they have only one team either 12 or 13 yr.olds.

The Wings have a Ms Basketballer in K. Edney another 22pt scorer in A. Weatherly a state champion in C. Gibson from Mt.Juliet and a proven inside threat in J. Chenger from FRA to go along with Dudley who has a very sweet stroke, but the TN. Flight have all the other top players in the state and the Wings lose by thirty.

YBOA typically at the nationals doesn't have the number of teams as does the AAU and you don't have as much fanfare such as the opening ceremonies of AAU. One thing I really don't care for is they control where you stay so they can benefit from the arrangement with the hotels and charge you and additional $150.00 deposit until you produce a hotel receipt at the and of your playing.I think it can be okay for the younger age groups if you need the games but discourage our older teams from playing YBOA.

The SSS Tn. Flight 16-u team went 3-0 in pool play and play tonight at 10:15pm EST.The Tn.Flight 15-u team is indeed playing up in the 16-u division and are 2-0 going into their final pool game at 5pm CST.Lots of good competition and college coaches are all over the place including some of the more well known head coaches.

I was there, some great basketball at all ages.The Georgia Metros came in as did the Tn.Flight with some of the most heralded players in the country.The 6'7" girl for the Metros was not totally dominating and did get her shot blocked into the wall by one of the Flight's guards,but she did cause some problems blocking shots and was a tower on the boards.Keke Stewart kept the pressure on them by getting their whole frontline in foul trouble and took what has to be record seven charges. The first game the Flight missed many wide open three pointers and free throws or that game would not have been close.The second game they were on and the result was a fourteen pt. win.Ashely House for the Metros is rated right up there with Cait the Great as one of the top guards in the country,she commits almost no turnovers but was held in check and seemed slower than the Flight guards.She also seemed to have trouble at times staying in front of her man.Mya Moore the 6'2"soph can play the 2,3,4,5 is the top recruit of her class in the countryand is as good as billed.

If the supporters of MJ and WC seem to have problems with the way your coaches pushes the girls or gets upset when losing or doesn't say all the right things during post game interviews, just start a petition to get them fired .They both can find jobs in Davidson Co

To Cheng Cheng ,Down Town Julie Brown and the rest of the FRA crew,way to go this win makes all the obstacles of this season disappear.Good going on the rest of your season cause luck has nothing to do with it.
