Ridges, you might be right. Thinking may be a bit warped. Ha! But I do appreciate that style of play as well. And I agree with what I think you're trying to say about the Seymour video being even more evidence of what is possible, given the lack of club soccer there. I'm glad this is being discussed. It's a good off-season topic to kill time. I get tired of the usual private school vs public school, or which ref gave what card, and so on.

Wow... Very, very good info here. Easily one of the best posts I've ever seen on coachT. I'd like to see some video of other TN high school teams of the past who play a pretty game. My time to search is limited right this minute. But I did come across this video, which I watched way back when it first appeared on YouTube. This is as far from the beautiful game as you can get (no offense to these players, of course), and is frustrating to me. No "small field" excuse here. And for the teams who are generally considered the top programs, most of these schools have "real" soccer fields these days anyway, and don't play on football fields as much as they used to. It is a season highlight video, where the 1st one is just one game..... this one is not as long either (and has music). Also worth noting... this is a mid-level soccer program who did NOT play a difficult schedule last year. IMO, style of play prob wouldn't have mattered for Seymour, in terms of where the season ended. I know they didnt get out of region, not sure about district. I know nothing more about them, apart from what I saw in these videos. I just know its an impressive style of play. Wonder of any of the high-level programs could/should play this style?

A friend of mine sent me this video of one of our east TN high school teams..... I just watched it and thought it was impressive, so I decided to post it here. I personally have never seen a high school team, anywhere, play this "tiki-taka" style of soccer and thought it was interesting. I have seen plenty of "possession" style teams, in various ways. trebs, you haven't been around that long if its the best you have ever seen....02bearden,04farragut,05brentwood,09farragut could have all whipped franklin this year. CAK had about 4 years of teams in the last decade that would have whipped them too. I agree they were a great team, had limited weakness, but NOT even in the top 5 in the last decade. BigG would even agree with me on this one!!!

let me clear it up BigG and bump11. when I said it was a straight red, I was meaning the second time. Yes, he got a yellow, and then a straight red. it was NOT 2 yellows. (my source read the report) also.......................................... bigG, I believe you are incorrect. if he would have been given a 2nd yellow, he would be allowed to play in the championship. Cak should still be fine. they had to do this last year also because of Creel's red card:)

Franklin is a strong team all around and has good size. Farragut has some size, but faster players. Will be a great game to see. Both teams do so many things so well. Whoever scores first wins the game!!!

It was a straight red. Not a second yellow. He can't play in final. If it would have been a second yellow, he would be able to play. Unfortunate, but will learn a lesson. Cak still wins 2-0 in the final without Creel

I have seen these programs battle for years. Playing each other in an elimination game should be interesting. Predictions?

Should be a great game tonight Farragut should win by 2 or 3 goals. Bearden could possibly have to face H.Valley on Tuesday. If thats the case, that could be the "game" of the year!

Whodat8519, First off, Doyle is alive and well. I spoke with him and we both have no idea what your talking about. Who did you hear that from? You also spelled Spencer's last name completely wrong. It sounds like you wanted to play at Farragut, and didn't. Doyle was a stud, but Jared went further with his talent. There's some clarification for you..... I would like some too.... Who are you? When did you play?

I for one have been around Coach Culbreth for along time and actually I think he is pretty good. He seems to win when it counts and his boys will go the extra mile for him. If I was choosing someone to be on my sideline or in my corner he would get my vote and he'd get most of his X-players. he may do things different than alot of coaches, but it works and his players care about not letting him down. There may be some great coaches out there with the X's and O's but my choice would be to play for Coach Culbreth. His set plays once got him a write up in the newspaper for consistancy, that's pretty good X's and O's. I think what everyone is saying Stevescarb is your comments may have been unfair. Farragut will win this one 6-0. Noone can hold them when they are healthy.

Not a chance!!! IF farragut decides to play the way that they know works, then they SHOULD win the game by a few goals. The games of Wed. to watch will be Hend vs. Houston, and Bearden vs. Brentwood If Bearden pulls through, there is a great possiblity that the East will reclaim the title!!! That is why we play the game!!!!!!! Best of luck to every team in the tourny and they ALL deserve to be there!
