  1. Sorry, This will be a boys 14 year old team. We will be located in Oak Ridge and practice facilities will depend on how far I decide to draw players from and what areas.
  2. The highly successful Tennessee Breakers organization will be fielding a 14 year old team this coming season. This team will be a very competetive team that will play only the best competition and travel throughout the southeast. We draw players from all over East Tennessee, Chattanooga and some Mid-State areas. Anyone interested in trying out please e-mail me at Tnbreakers@aol.com.
  3. The only thing keeping Gaskin out of the lineup earlier was football. Tyler is too good of an athlete to keep off the floor. Very under-rated player with deceptive range and quickness. He poses a lot of matchup problems for teams. Very unselfish player that will do whatever is necessary to help his team succeed. If allowed to be more aggressive on offense he can produce! When teams look to shut down Lee ( ie - diamond and one ) they better account for Gaskin.
  4. I coached against an AAU team made up of mostly Father Ryan players this past summer. Those kids really play together and play hard. If that is any indication they should be tough to handle for Notre Dame, unless they have changed a great deal from last year.
  5. With the full compliment of players back starting the new year things should get interesting. When your team is missing it's starting 3 & 4 man, not to mention their 5 man being hobbled by a constant ankle injury, it makes it difficult to compete with the teams they have played. Not too many cupcakes in the early season schedule. I am surprised they have the record they do and other than the Fulton and Science Hill games they have competed well. Biggest challenge will be to find a chemistry that is definately lacking. Hopefully the players that will become eligible will breathe some new life into the other players. Both players are not only good players but they play with a great level of enthusiasm. Some of the guys need to find out that it is not about getting their own, but about what is my role and what can I do to help the TEAM. Look for a good strong finish from Oak Ridge down the stretch. Great coach and staff + good young men = Success. Good Luck!
  6. It came out in the Knox-News Sentinel Thursday 12/26. It covers all Classes from 1A-5A.
  7. I feel Coach Wright is the best hands down. I get a lot of players on my AAU team from several high schools and I can tell you one thing. The kids from Maryville know how to play defense and they play hard! That is a direct reflection on their coach. As far as wilting under the pressure from big games I will leave that to whoever wants to make those kind of statements. It might have something to do with the other team shutting down the star player and the other players are not stepping up. I do not think that will happen this year they are pretty solid. Coach Norris at Oak Ridge does a good job with the talent he has to work with. Once everyone is eligible we will see how he fits the pieces of the puzzle together. The players will tell you he is a great guy to play for and he conducts himself in a very professional manner. The floor spacing and adjusting the pree offense will help them be successful. Good luck to all teams and coaches!
  8. Not sure of final score but OR won by about 15 points.
  9. For all of you Oak Ridge Coaching critics who vow to never watch a game again as long as Lussier and his staff are around because of the terrible offensive play calling, I have an idea for you. It appears that you do not have the power to make any changes in the current coaching situation or you would have done so long ago. I have heard all of the griping and complaining and brilliant ideas about what should be done on offense, defense and even how the Booster Club President should do her business. Why don't you arm chair coaches go down to the park in Briarcliff on saturdays around 2:00 pm and you will find a neighborhood football game going on and you can try out your great ideas and get enough coaching experience on your resume to apply for the Oak Ridge job. Bottom line: If you do not like the way things are going work in a positive way to change them, quit all the griping and complaining. The people on here who have kids on the team and say you do not voice your opinions in front of your kids are just kidding yourselves. Poison in usually brings poison out. If it is as bad as you say - MOVE! I normally do not even respond to these idiotic statements that I see on these boards, but this thread is so old and tiresome it was too hard to resisit. If you say you back the players and continue to post this crap for the PLAYERS to see you are even more stupid than I imagined. Good Luck!
  10. I think Jared Stephens would be a good addition to the team. He is very active on the football field and as a freshman was very active on the court. You do not have to be a great scorer to play the game. They need some bangers on the board and some hustlers that will rub off on others. Just a thought!
  11. Great kid and a great family. Get well soon Blake!
  12. BB**Hole, Your comments show your lack of intelligence and obviously you have a personal problem with this. Enough said! Finalsay, For your info his birthday is 11/18/86 and we have been hearing this stuff since he was 9 years old.
  13. BB**hole, Anyone who makes that statement is either jealous or an idiot. Which one are you? Keep the band playing strong!
  14. Dil**, That's what is so good about these message boards, they are so full of crap and very rarely have any truth to them. Never has there been a moment of thought to go to Clinton from this kid or his family. Only kids who can't cut it at Oak Ridge go to Clinton and then tell everyone it is a coaching problem. Check your facts before you show your intelligence level. Ask any coach this kid has played for and they will tell you he is a "Team" player all the way.
  15. BBinthehole, Where did you get your info? Check your sources before you make incorrect comments!

  17. I moved my family to Oak Ridge 2 years ago because of the great schools and sports programs. I have a son on the football team, matter of fact he is the youngest player on the football team. I am so tired of hearing all the negative things said about this program. Players not wanting to play for this coach or that coach, well welcome to the real world. This is happening every where, not an isolated problem at Oak Ridge. For all of you " Want A Be " Coaches " or so called supporters, either support your team or shut up!!!! If you were in a position to do something about the current coaching situation you would have already done so. So continue to do what everybody else does on these ridiculous boards, CAUSE PROBLEMS FOR THE PEOPLE WHO DO NOT NEED IT!!!! + THE PLAYERS!!!!! GROW UP AND SHUT UP !!!!!
  18. My point exactly. It will take "TEAM" defense as well as a superb individual performance. Would be a very interesting matchup to see.
  19. I believe that Ricky Norris now at Oak Ridge would fit into this category. Great knowledge of the game and good people skills to relate the the players of this generation. Look for him to have a lot of success.
  20. With the offense that Maryville runs you must not only have a great defender on Lee, but great team defense to play off the multiple screens. Without help you cannot do it over the course of the entire game. I have seen Bradley play defense and he is a fantastic athlete that can definately play the "D", but without fundamental help defense one person is not going to get it done. Period!
  21. The Nets are better than most teams that are being hyped and touted as great teams by their coaches and players. I was impressed with the talent they have. Keep up the good work Nets.
  22. Lee Humphrey -Maryville Drew Franklin - Catholic Kyle Cruze - Bearden Zach Gulmire (jr) - Oak Ridge Sherrod Scott (jr) - Oak Ridge
