flngrvy i agree with you totally on what you said. people being taken out and not starting just because they score. thats not all basketball is. on Mt. Juliet's team everyone knows their roll bc at the beginning of the season coach as a meeting to discuss what each persons roll is on the team. then i believe that player doesnt matter how good or bad he is should fit that roll the team has designated for him. and if that player doesnt play up to their part on the team the coach then begins to rotate new players who will step up and play within themselves and the roll he put them in to do.

from what i understand gassie was sick with the flu and couldnt play.

i guess many people were wondering how the lady bears would play after hearing the news that their star player was done for the year. i believe Mt. Juliet loosing to Beech last night was what the doctor ordered. i believe it was a wake up call for these girls and life after alysha. i think the lady bears will bounch back with wins at White House friday and ground out game against central on tuesday night. i believe everyone will step up like the boys team at Mt. Juliet did last year with helton goin down with a knee injury. So this season is far from over in my book it has just begun.

u do not have to worry bout the confident part. with Mt. Juliet's star player goin down last week due to a hip injury, Mt. Juliet is and WILL step up their game. I believe mj's game's down the stretch will be closer now that alysha is out of action for the remainder of the year. but like the boys team last year at Mt. Juliet with josh helton goin down with a knee injury everyone came together and played with the passion and determination. i believe this group of girls will do the same thing and they will succeed in the boro even against the powerhouse's of Shelbyville, sevier county, Powell, and others. and the ranking will take care of its self

i have to agree with this poll right now under the circumstances. though if mj beats Beech and central in the next 8 days i believe this poll should be re done in having mj back in the number one spot.

alysha will be missed. there's no doubting that. i loved watching her play. shooting left and right handed. she has the heart of a lion and she will return with the same kind of passion she played with during the season but the passion will be more intense. if i could vote for miss basketball alysha would get my vote. good luck alysha

i just want to congratulations to the lady bears of Mt. Juliet for finally getting in the usa today top 25. i know u girls can keep it up and take the golden ball back to mj.

i feel like that a coach needs to have his starters play the first half and a little of in the third quarter. i feel that just playing less then a half in a game that is a blowout does not help your starters get better. the pressing part i can see would be wrong with starters in there when your up by more then 30. but if a coach puts in the bench i believe that a coach has every right to press with his bench players in. The reason for this is for the coaches bench to get better at every aspect of the game not just a half court defense and if the bench runs the score up by running their set offense u cant really say anything bout that. i would rather a team who has its bench in beat me bad by running their offense then a team beating me bad by holding the ball and slowing up the game.

my vote goes to alysha clark from mt. juliet. The girl leads the mid state in scoring with almost 22 points a game and pulls down 12 rebounds a game

i might can see were mj dropped one spot in your polls but in your poll mj has beaten central and shelbyville and lost to sevier county by 2 points on a last second play. i can see were powell is undefeated and the only team they have beaten in the top 10 is oak ridge. but thats just me i would have sevier county the mj and then powell. but thats me.

lady 13 if u read my post clearly i said no varsity experience together so i know they played together in junior high and wwba. most of wilson county played on same teams together or against each other. but these players never played with each other on VARSAITY teams. so it will be great game but again the weapons of mj will be too much for wilson central.

there is no old team mates in this one bc mt. juliet has no seniors on this team so mt. juliet girls and wilson central girls have never played as a varsaity team before. so yea its a dogfight for rivalry but mj still is the better team.

i just want to say the girls game is one of the most anticipated matchups of the year so far. i believe it will be a game that will go back and forth. coach brandon will have his girls ready to play friday night and as will coach fryer. though after reading post and much thought im gonna stick to the lady bears of mt. juliet bc i feel they have more weapons and will be able to use them to their fullest. so i pick mj by 14.

i believe the bears of mt. juliet will roll into lavergne do their business and leave with 2 impressive victories. Mt. juliet has more to loose then lavergne does for the boys game. mj tries to prove that the victory in district play was no fluke. The girls will win soundly in my opinion. The boys game will come down to how good dardern is played. if he is stopped no chance for lavergne. Girls game mt. juliet wins by 15. in the guys game it will be close til the end when the golden bears of mt. juliet go on a run and win by 12.

well this weekend in the greenville tourney will go along way in deciding how ready mj is for the big time exposure. i believe the ladies can pull it off. they play sevier county and from what i hear is ranked 3 or 4 in the south region behind oak ridge which is also in the tourney. i think if mj and win against sevier county which i know they can i think u people need to start looking at mj as a very good basketball team. i know they already all a very good basketball team with NO seniors. good luck girls and ill keep track of yall this coming week.

mt. juliet finally got over the four year hump beating lebanon with the final score 69-61. lebanon couldnt stop the three headed monsters of helton, sims, and hayes. i just want to say congratulations to the bears for finally getting the monkey of their back. good luck in the south carolina tournament after christmas.

hendersonville won 73-67.

i believe this game goes along way in deciding who gets the season district crown. both teams seem to be playing well. with hendersonville coming off an eleven point win over gallatin and mt. juliet coming off a nine point win over smyrna should be an interesting game. with wicke leading the commandos bout 18 a game seems to be their only threat. there has only been two incidence where another one has scored in double digits. but come district time hendersonville turns it up. mt. juliet is lead by helton, sims, and hayes. Helton is leading the charge with 22, sims 12, and hayes 15. i believe this will be a battle and i believe this year mj will come out victorius for the first time in coach cutlips tenure as head coach. good luck to both teams.

does anyone know the score of the boys game tonight. how did each team fair in their opener in district play. who played well for mj and smyrna.

i believe the lady bears will pull this one out. i believe last year smyrna beat them, so i believe fryer will have his girls ready to play. i agree this game will be a good game to watch but i think the lady bears will pull it out and when by 15. with the good outside game of hudson and gibson to the inside of game of clark and mcfarlin should be a dominate game for the bears in the second half.

how u figure mj has only one guy. that guy might be helton. but what about the others, julian hayes shawn sims, chris white, and others. i would like to know why u think mj wont win anything. im sorry that mj knocked out lavergne in the first round last year. oh i forgot that was the same team as this years squad. so i hope u count mj out of the picture this year bc i believe the bears are state material.
