To all of you who say that maryville was fortunate to win are being rediculous. It was a hard fought game and a good classic high school battle. Clinton played amazing. They haven't shot the ball that well except for maybe once earlier in the season. Not a put-down, just stating the facts. The fact is that clinton had probably their best game of the season (according to their coaches). Maryville played hard but shot something like 11 for 23 freethrows. Their shooting percentage was also down. Those are the only two areas where there could be improvement. Otherwise Maryville plays a decent game and wins over Clinton's best game. What does that say about fortunate?

Hoosiers and One on One are the two best basketball movies ever. Above the Rim and Blue Chips are right up there with them.

Seriously, the only people who really ever make excuses for mville, is this Maryville Rebels character. Everyone else has a pretty even head. Rebelron, its too bad you were scared to death of this game. I know none of the players were. I know what happened last year was tragic, but no one from a school or team should be scared. GovMan, You were right, i was wrong, you got me. Bobby Golden has improved incredibly since the last time i saw him play. He deserved all he got tonight. When it comes down to who is better him or houser. Well tonight, Golden was. But i still believe that in previous matchups and in one on one situations, houser is better. Thats just my opinion though. You've already proven me wrong once. Maryville Rebels, i know houser is your boy and all, but dunking isn't everything. Sure its exciting, but it is overrated. Just cause houser won the dunk contest 3 years running, doesn't mean he is a better player. Once again, props to Golden. You played great tonight and i hope you have good luck in the future. GovMan, you got me.

Congrats on the win. You all played well tonight, no doubt about it, you deserved to win. Props to Golden and Eakins. I haven't seen WB play in a while and well, tonight, Golden was on fire. I made a comment earlir that he wasn't unstoppable, but he sure was tonight, the rebs couldn't even challenge him. The rebs missed some nine free throws in the 4th, that might have given them the edge in the game. Definately not making excuses though, WB deserved that win. Maryville Rebels, it wasn't the refs that caused the loss for Maryville. Yeah, sure they missed a few calls, but thats gonna happen every game. There are no excuses for the rebels, they don't attempt to make any, so don't make any for them. They got out played by WB. Congrats on District Tournament Champs WB.

HA HA HA HA HA, you've got to be kidding me. Thats one of the worst posts (marks) i've ever seen. Bobby Golden is a decent player. Houser and Stout are helpless? Terrible, terrible, terrible. That is exactly what this article is. You people on here act like you know something about kyle, you don't. And even he didn't have a legit reason for quiting (i don't know if he did or didn't)it should never be made public like that. He was insulted in the article and it was poorly written any way. Terrible comments and a terrible article.

Maryville will win on tuesday by 20 to 35 points. A fluke, are you kidding me. 30 pts, come on man farragut has a couple nice players but honestly don't kid yourself. Maryville will play WB on Friday. Could never predict how that game will end up.

Alright rage, i know you are a hater of maryville, i have seen other posts of yours so i'll make this quick. You know nothing about maryville or coach nelson. He has taken very minimal talent (houser, stout, tipton) and turned them into great players. He gets every ounce of energy out of his players. Watch out this year, you'll be eating your words, guaranteed.

This might be old news but i'm not sure whos heard about it and who hasn't. At the Maryville-Bearden game John Higgins was behind the Bearden bench yelling negetive comments about Lee Humphrey. He was sayin stuff like, "go to florida, we didn't want you any way." He said quite a few other derogatory statements about lee. My only question is, what did lee ever do to him. Tennessee didn't want lee, end of story. It wasn't lee's fault florida wanted him. Lee is a great guy, so for a player from UT to do that, speaks very poorly of UT basketball. Buzz, get your players under control!

Maryville Rebels, i talked to lee last night and he seemed to know why they won. Besides what stature do you have, when was the last time you played competetive ball. You think your so smart and you can tell the players why they won a game. Try playing the game first, then try to analyze why a team won or lost. It's a whole different world.

To all you who say free throws were the deciding factor in the game: Check the stats out, Maryville shot 3 for 21 from the three point line and had 20 tournovers. I have a hard time believing that it was the free throws that did it for the rebels. Maybe the 18 offensive boards maryville pulled had something to do with it. Once again i am forced to tell you all to learn the game before you make dumb comments.

Cocke County and Karns have big numbers and loud fans, but their only downfall is they yell stupid things and make idiotic comments. They attack each individual from the opposing team with rude and inane comments. I would like to comment on Maryville's student section, oh wait, there isn't one. Maryville has about three or four hard core fans. Great Job Maryville.

All of you guys have to learn that people from william blount like to speak out of their a** a lot. Science Hill and DB have great traditions and are both really good teams this year. I'm from maryville and i know that when our guys played SH and DB at Arby's they were hard fought games by both teams. I know SH had some players sitting or whatever, it probably would have made a difference. I'm sure we'll find out when tournament time comes around.

I am sorry i have to say this, but unless you were at the game you have no idea what really went on. I didn't leave at half time, but stayed for the entire thing. Whoever wrote that stupid messege from William Blount needs to get his head examined. Maryville won the 2nd half 36-31 over the 18th ranked team in the nation without Lee, and mr. governor is saying they are a mediocre team who probably would lose to Heritage. I could care less whether you think you are knocking them or not, because you are. No doubt about it LEE CAN PLAY BALL. But, Maryville proved in the 2nd half that they can beat any team in the state without him.

Lee is better now and almost fully recovered. He will be playing in maryville's game on the 3rd.

Hey, what about Nelson at Maryville. I don't know much about coaching but i think he's won a couple of coaching awards and always seems to have a winning team. Tell me what y'all think?

hey, if you watch the games you'll notice who boxes out and who doesn't. Those of you who say that maryville's big men aren't getting the boards don't know what your talking about. Watch the games a little closer next time and make up your minds for yourselfs about who boxes out and who gets pushed around. Oh yeah (Check the program's weight room stats and you'll see who gets pushed around and who doesn't) Once again, i tell you to learn the game before you make inane comments.

Where are the student fans for maryville this year. Last year they made every game seem like a college game because of all the noise they made. This year it is like going to watch a freshman basketball game, all you see is the parents and a few friends. Lets go maryville fans, where you at.

MaryvilleRebels, it sounds like you know what your talking about. These other guys on here are just a bunch of computer nerds that can't find anything better to do than bash other teams. Tell them to get a life and learn how to play that game.
