Anybody figure this one out Farragut ranked ahead of Bearden in the State when Farragut has lost 9 in a row to Bearden and Bearden has won state 2 years in a row. But oh well gives Bearden alittle motivation this year.

I think thoses are good rules! At Knox. Bearden we have basically one rule to sum it up. "Be where your supposed to be, Doing what your supposed to be doing." Now, on top of that we also have rules if you miss a workout unexcused you run. If you miss a practice unexcused they take up your pads and your done. The main thing for us is also to communicate with the coaches and it works out well.

To all the younger guys just starting to lift: Colleges when they send out letters to ask for info. They ask for Power Clean first off. Squat, second and finally Bench Press. I would put much more emphasis on the leg lifts to build the speed too. The Power Clean is thought of as an all around strength test because it involves alot of what football has in it.

Matt, I appluad you for your great sportmanship. I know it can be tough not to just give up when Its late and everything isn't going your way. Just get 'em Monday at DB.

MOCS30, there actually has been 3 kids leave the varsity team during this season. Maybe you shoudl get to know KYLE and his family before you jump to conclusions and say stuff that def. isn't true. If you did know him and this situation then you would have know it was for the best. Him and his family are very nice, respectful people. Cruze worked on his own for everything he got. I think it is ridiclous that you would say stuff about him without even knowing him.

I see the exact reasons mentioned in the article. I walked away from basketball In December of this year from the Bearden Team. I felt many different reasons led to my walking away from the program. The coach played a big role though and can see eye to eye with Kyle. I still talk to many of the guys although I am focusing mainly on football. Many kids feel somewhat the same way about the situation from what I have seen. I think it was good for Kyle to stand up for what he beleived is right. Remember everyone is not perfect especially 18 yr teenagers.

How can you forget two of the best players in the state that play for the best team in the state ever heard of Matt Herbstritt or Victor Upshaw?

BigA, I attend Bearden High School and actually one of our assistants just graduated from there in 2001. He was a walk ok defensive lineman. His name is Steve Manning in knoxville.

I beleive spring practice can start Feb. 10 this year for all schools. You are allowed ten days in pads within a period of 3 weeks so coaches will split those days up and sometimes scrimmage.

We have back our tailback, 2 wide receivers, 2 guys on the o line. Our defense will take a hit on the line losing 2 seniors there and losing 2 linebackers. Bearden players have been working hard this off season and more players have been coming out so hopefully we will be able to compete in our region year in year out. its too early for me personally to say we are gonna beat those teams but I think we have a great shot hopefully.

I agree with gomab Demarco Polk was a great dunker. I saw him in the state I beleive semis last year. He could sky for his height. Where is he playing now? Michael Blue from Bearden can also dunk really well he had a dunk against cleveland that was monster but was overshadowed by Charles Little baseline dunk.

Beardens ranking is right on the money I beleive. They played a very good Cleveland team before New Years and just got blown out in the final period after staying close. Charles Little of Cleveland is the real deal in my opinion. Bearden and Maryville square off at Bearden around 8:00 est. Tuesday night which should have some bearing on the region standings in the future.

What are some peoples thoughts on Bearden in the upcoming season?

At Bearden in Knoxville we have a chant where we pick out one player and when he gets the ball. We usually choose the point guard and the whole student section chants DIRTY when the player is in the game with the ball. We think is helps. DIRTY DIRTY DIRTY

I think the larger systems are at a disadvantage because kids don't usually start playing all together until high school. Where as in small communities the kids grow up playing in the boys clubs and rec leagues.

I think they need a new quarterback from what I saw hes not that good and he loves to post things about how great he is!

I think one of the top 5 punters in the state is Britton Colquitt from Bearden High in Knoxville. He has not been kicking well this year but still has a 43 yd average which will go up with time. He is being seriously looked at right now by UT (where his brother Dustin is the starter to punt), Florida, and Georgia.

AUSDAN.... Bearden wouldn't play you because our schedule has been set for 2 years. We always play West which is a yearly game... Farragut is a non region game now. which leaves one game open and we play Webb that game so don't go thinking we didn't want to if we did say no its because the schedule would be messed up.

If i am not mistaken Bearden beat Clinton by 20 in the summer.

Who do you like in this game in the third week of the season. I am thinking Bearden... opening lines are bearden by 28
