I would say no.. the venues are too spread out ... why not use just four fields for baseball and play games at 12 230 500 and 730 ... that just logical to me ... plus memphis traffic with st jude and holiday traffic was awful getting from Bolton to Southaven was a mess ... I was covering 3 schools ... 1 baseball and 2 softball .... Use fields like UofM .. Gagaliano .. CBHS .. and Briarcrest for baseball .. keep all the venues close to one another ... I dont see a problem with have the state title games at old tim mccarver stadium or at Uof M ... both nice places ... actually they used of UofM the first year ... Last year was alot better ... but this was just awful ... cant wait till it comes back earth .. or middle tennessee like in 93

to pick one player from Houston is tough , i agree with you David that Miller kid was the best one in the state tournament

Logan Darnell - threw a 5 inning no hitter against Friendship for Goodpasture in a 11-0 throwing only 48 pitches ... Darnel also threw the first four innings in game two .. allowing 2 runs to 3 hits ... By the way .. Friendship hit two more home runs .. for a record 6 in the tournament

Ross Moffit - pitched a complete game victory over Halls for Goodpasture to set up a rematch with Friendship ..Austin Tice also hit a homerun in the game

What happend in florida has no bearing on this game .. as will what happend in the murfreesboro will have no effect on the title match up with GP and USJ But about this opening round game .. If DCA can get out in front early and thier pitchers hit thier location then this game could get interesting

sorry to hear that about Hunter Garrett, he really impressed me with his athleticism and bat in the state tournament last year. I remember he also an injury against Goodpasture when he collieded with the wall in CF at Christian Brothers. USJ is a fine team I look for them to be in the thick of things in Memphis

Class A's biggest baseball rivilary used to be Davidson Academy-Goodpasture (last 2 state champions by the way) ... But a new rivilary coming up is Goodpasture-USJ, eventhough they dont play in the regular season until this year .. it is very heated with the benches clearing in the state tournament last season ... USJ leads series over GP 3-2, but GP leads in state titles 5-3, Goodpasture also leads DA rivilary 21-5

9-9 top of the 12th ... White House jumped out 8-0 going into the bottom of seventh and hendersonville rallied to tie the game ... both team scored single runs in the 11th

They played a cupcake pre-district schedule ... and now they have reverted back to last year's team ... A team that just cant hit the ball very well .. I look for them to be 7th of 8th seed and be eliminated early ... but watch out for White House .. no one expected them to do anything this year w/o Pickett, but they have won the wilson co tourny and finished second in the easter slam in humbolt to milan ...

No way they eventhough they lost 3 starting pitchers and 4 postion players to graduation .. which all are playing in college .. they simply reloaded again ... I look for a USJ-GHS title game. Can you imagine the intensity in that game .. compared to what happend last year.. and oh btw they meet in boro on April 2 @ 10am

Dont let BKelly fool you, saw them this summer and he has some tough kids. The most impressive is the 6'5, 6'6 black kid that played inside-out..He was very impressive. Didnt remember seeing him this summer on the AAU Circuit but I'm sure after this season he will be heavily recruited. I think Centennial will have a chance to at least be top 4 however, I havent seen many of the teams in the district. but they have alot of 6'3s and 6'4s. Pope John contolled the first meeting, the stats may not show it, but the Knights were in charge of the game from start to finish except the first 8 mins of the 3rd quarter when Webb got back in the game, but the Knights responded like a championship caliber teams and scored two consecutive touchdowns to run away with a 26-14 win. Webb did move the effectivly but it was between the 20's once they got inside the 20 the Knights defense steeped up including a goaline stand. Remember Webb's two TD drives of 8 yards came off a misplayed kickoff and 7 yards a fake punt that went by the waste side. So I think JP II wins this one too, but this time by a bigger margin they are on a roll 4-game winning streak, while Webb has lost 4 in a row. JP II 31 Webb 7
