OH BUKI BOY lets go a step further with this. First we have to buy gas 1.75 a gal. average dist for me 100 mile round trip 10.00. 2 softball games 65.00. Time 1 1/2 hours travel and 3 hours 2 ball games. Ok lets see hear 65.00 minus 10 for gas thats 55.00. 55.00 divided by 4 1/2 hours is 12.22 cents. Time away from family you can't put a price on it. So 99 percent of the umpires I know do it for the love of the game and the kids, not for themselves or the money.

Never. Can a team play with 11 after a red card. As far as suspensions it is up to the TSSAA and whether it is appealed or not.

The one thing everyone needs to remember is that the nfhs rules are for participation of all kids and the ussf or fifa as some of you want it , is not participation friendly. Yes the tssaa has classes that each official must attend. They have to be at 3 classes a year. These classes are training sesions just like ussf. In fact or association uses a ussf referee for the calles. Most of you people that get on here and post have no clue what acctually goes on behind the scenes. You just repeat what you here or what you want to here. By the way I do both and there are just as many bad ussf officials as tssaa officials. The problem is that in ussf they let everyone get away with playing football on a soccer feild. This is the main complaint I get during high school season. Remember the tssaa is in the teaching business for the kids, not the big egos you kids have with ussf.

yodude you are real close. 40.00 to tssaa a year, 65.00 associaton dues a year, Mandatory state meeting a year , must attend at least 6 association meetings a year, 100.00 dollar pair of shoes a year, 1 or 2 pair of pants a year, 140.00, 1 shirt a year 45.00 2 or 3 whistles a year 18.00. thats about 408.00 before the season even starts. Plus if you have to go to camp in the summer that's another 175.00. So there is 583.00 before the season starts. Then you have Gas at 1.40 agallon. So don't even try to say that officials are well paid it takes 10 dates to break even before you can even think about making any money. So if you referee you are in it for the game and the kids and you really could care less what the fans think. because every call you make is only going to make 50% of the people happy and 50% of the people mad. Personally I am in it for the game of basketball and the kids. I enjoy it and if I make a mistake I am big enough to admit it. Everyone needs to remember this the game is suppose to be fun for the kids and a life learning experiance.and to many people (fans) think it is live or die by each call. This is why everone needs to realize its just a game. Everyone is going to make mistakes but I doubt that anyone makes them on purpose. So just remember the next game you go to smile have fun yell for your team and take the positives away from the game and you'll feel alot better about basketball.

My only question to you is did the kids foul, or were they just made up? In 99.9% these were fouls. Just because they are good players that dosn't mean the refs shouldn't call fouls on them. If they where so good they wouldn't have to foul. Put your strips on travel an hour and a half and get 65.00 and we'll ref together. and lets see how many people get on here and bash you.

First of all futphan, you where supposedly watching these games and at least you could get the teams right. DCA played FRA Baylor played pjpII and Franklin played Hendersonville. So you might want to revise your comments for the people who weren't there. Every team that won there respective state title desrved it. By acussing the refs or any other thing is a crying shame on your part. The games where played and the outcome was decided on the feild. in all three games the better team won. yes there were calls that some would agree with and some would disagree with. I for one think it was a great day for soccer, because I would put any of our teams against any other state. And our referees up against any other state. It is people like you that give this sport a bad image. As for carding the coach He deserved it. A coach should not yell at a ref. It is the same as basketball a yellow card for a coach is the same as a technical foul. so get over it. No in FIFA they do not like you to yellow card the coach but most of those coaches don't get as upset because there livly hood isn't based on W's and L's. just a thought.

Hey your coming around yes the ref is incharge the teams must adjust to the ref because each one is different in how they see the game not the rules. Just like one side sees one thing and the other side sees another thing. As for the offsides call it is not the refs call it is the linemans call. It to is a judgement call as were the defender and offense are at the time of the kick. Most people see it after the ball is gone from the foot so when they see someone ahead they automatically say he missed that one, and it cost us a goal. ONE IMPORTANT THING IN SOCCER RULES WHICH IS IN THE FIFA RULES BOOK IT STATES THE FOLOWING: (IN THE OPINION OF THE REFEREE.), NOT THE PLAYERS, COACHES OR FANS.

I don't understand how they can takeaway goals and add goals. They didn't kick them or nor did they save them. One team or the other had to do something to score, or nullify it. As far as PK's this is a judgement call as to whether the foul accurd or didn't. On this one everyone has there own opinion. I'll give you this if each team capitalized on each shot and scored then you couldn't blame the ref's. If each team played stellar defense and didn't alow a shot then you might have a point that the ref caused the outcome of the game. In no way has this or will it happen so your point is mute. Untill you people put on the ref jersey and do high school ball you have no opinion. Other than that you are just talking sour grapes over something you don't have a clue about.

I haven't seen any stat books this year but I'll bet that there isn't a single ref that has scored a goal or given one up . For the people that whine about the refs it is just a cover for the teams that get beat. Its the same thing every year. It will never change, becuse everyone wants to blame the refs, instead of the team or players.

Yes I agree there are some bad ones and there are some good ones. The problem is their is not enough of us to go around so some schools get stuck with bad ones. The only way to fix this problem is to have more former soccer players getting into the referee program this way we will eventially have better refereees. As far as 2 or 3 at districts this is up to the assigner in that area and the coach who is hosting. Most coaches want 3, but their is a few who only want 2 so that their team can get by with stuff that they would not get by with with 3 refs.

I am a union member and proud of it. I belong to the United Steel workers of America Local 1155 in Morrison Tennessee. I have been a member for 25 years and am proud of it. Without the unions everybody might as well be working in MEXICO because you would have no insurance, no cost of living, no medical benifits, and no rights. I know its hard for some people to understand that what most everyone makes today is because of the unions. You say how could that be, well let me explain. If the union wages go up then the staffs wages go up , because the company wants to keep staff ahead of the union. Yes unions are political just like company people everyone lobbies for what they think is right. Thats the process so to down grade the union on this account is hypicritical on your part. When you people who do not belong to a union go to work each day do you know if you will be let go or have a job tomorrow. Just depends if you are liked or not or who brownnoses the boss to keep their job. I know when i go to work they cannot fire me because they don't like me. How about you. I could go on and on but I have a feeling it wouldn't do any good, because most people who have never belonged to union will never understand just how important they are to the american econemy.

One more thing if it wasn't for the unions in this country You would not be making the wages you make or have the benefits that you have. It is the republicans who are trying to lower wages and get rid of benifits. I don't know about you but me and my family need better wages and benifits just to survive. I don't see no 10 to 12 mollion bonus coming my way at the end of the year.

The country is not better off today then it was 4 years ago. We are losing jobs everyday to other companys in other country's. Most of the jobs left are minimum wage or a quarter higher. For the last 4 years the rich are getting richer the poor getting poorer. It's the facts. All the conservitives can bring up is about Clintons sex scandel, what about Bush lying about Iraq. I would rather have somebody lie about sex than lie about something that cost many of our yug men lives. You may all be better off money wise or job wise but the middle class american people are not.

Yes she should be allowed to start her club. Why not? If all the other groups have a club for their own heritage she should have one for her heritage. Their is no difference. But I will bet one thing that if she gets the go ahead on this the NAACP will file a suit in court to stop it, because minorities think they are the only one with rights when it comes to clubs like this. Just one persons opinion.

DSL for me it is just fine. Haven't had any problems and is fast enough for me. As for the dial-up question can't you get dsl if you have a phone line and it is offered by the phone company? Just wondering, I thought all local phone co. offered DSL?
