  1. Who won...the score is not on board yet.
  2. According to CoachT's prospect list, you all have six prospects...Heritage has none. You all should win in a landslide.
  3. What happened...according to scoreboard, Seymour beat Webb. Does anyone have the story. Very curious.
  4. Looks like Riverdale passed the first test....they should be pushed to the head of the class.

    Heritage

Looks like third place in Blount County behind Maryville and William Blount. They will have an uphill climb.
  7. Congrats to the MIGHTY LADY TORNADOES. Took a little to overcome nature but States now in hand. Great job. Keep it going. Alcoa now gets to put out a new banner at that new softball field.
  8. muffin, do it in the evening...after seven..thanks.
  9. Absolutely, as I said in my previous message, I think Greenville, MoWest and Tenn Hi have a great chance. My prediction, who ever wins regions from the north east will go. Oak Ridge is playing well and is healthy. They will come out of their region and go on to states. There is no one else that can beat the three teams for up there. Farrigut will make a run, Powell will try with Holifield making a move and maybe a dark horse, but that is it. WB can not play with the big teams..recent lost to, I think, Henderson. They were out matched even with a healthy Peulo it would not have mattered. Heritage is all but done. With the loss of Heron with injury and with Newman and Strickland gone, freshman Best out with injury, Heritage will not be able to play the rough game...foul trouble and not to forget Cait the Great. To many losses. Look for WB, Farrigut and Maryville to fight it out on one side of bracket and Sevier County and South Doyle from the other side of district. Not enough to take out Oak Ridge. OR probalby will walk to states.
  10. Oh no....that's the end for AE!!!!! AE WILL make it to states. Mark it down, Muffin.
  11. Yes, I remember when lowly Alcoa won over WB for several years.
  12. Easily from this side of the state, it would be Heritage Coach Rick Howard. After the lost of Cait Mc, all he has done is lead the team to a 25-5 season. If losing Cait wasn't enough, the team has lost a post and wing for the year that saw alot of playing time, another post reserve and another reserve wing at the beginning of the year. With several injuries to key players that missed several games, they have had some bumps in the road. I am not sure why some of the players left but Coach seems to just adjust and move forward. This is a very young team now and I do not know how far they can get but, they won the district season title. That is not bad. As an observer of Blount County basketball, I tip my hat to Coach and his team. Congrats to Heritage and Coach Howard.
  13. Showtime, the only thing for sure from the east is who has the best coaching at the time and which team will get hot...they will run the table. You did not mention MoWest, Green town and Tenn Hi, these teams are tuff. They will make some noise. As far as OR is concern...it may come down to coaching and she is superior to most all of te coaches in Tenn. OR 73 WV 53. Now is the time to be pushing toward the real games, nothing else matters. I would not be surprised if a dark horse gets hot and comes out of the east. Without Cait, there is NO absolutes.
  14. Generally speaking, refs are doing the best they can. I have been around basketbal for about 40 years now. That does not make me any expert but I have seen alot of refs...yelled at a lot. But I do not think this string is being fair to the refs in TSSAA. Pageman...what you described is called good coaching. You follow the refs, find out their tendencies and use it to win the game. There are better refs and some ok refs. But ANY ref that goes out and does the job is a better person than the fans that watch them. Pretty much a thankless job. Some calls vary from location to location based on the history of the area and the particular ref....touch calls, charge, blocking. block shot. Each of these four have a definition in the rule book...but dang if I see the same from court to court. I do not think for these four calls, the NBA agrees. I think the fans (parents especially) get involved emotionally so much that if you ask two people watching the same game, they will descibe the refs calls totally different. I know for a fact, I am always right
  15. She also made the 3 pointer at the buzzer before half time which changed a 13 point lead to a 10 point lead for AE.
  16. Heritage beats AE in close one. Cait is injured. Anyone know how bad?
  17. Heritage 73 - Greenville 59 Very good game with Heritage coming out on top. Greenville will be happy with new coach. She did a very good job replacing two graduated stars. Her team continued to improve throughout game. This team will be in the playoff mix at the end of the year.
  18. Lauren Cable, junior, will also contribute underneath. She appears ready to do some pushing around. And as I understand, Hope Lawson has join the team. The post will be deep as last year. And by the end of the year, will be making a big impact with these two and Hearon, Talbott and Newman. Also, I think they are starting to use Brittany Strictland as a post. She adds even more depth.
  19. Cait McMahan to UT...surprise http://www.blounttoday.com/blnt/home/artic...4224853,00.html
  20. Will Cait Mcmahan finally get Ms. Basketball in 3a this year. Yes
  21. What happen in this game....did the Lady Jets run away with it. How did Jets look. How was the match up with Cait.
  22. I agree, his father is NOT doing his son any good by taking a high school diploma away from him unless Farragut is willing to give him one as a junior. Regardless of how he plays...whats the rush. High school should be completed. There is probably more to this than is said here but education at this level is the most important and if Farragut gives him a diploma now (which I have not heard of a junior getting his degree early) then good, go for it. I doubt this is the case. IMHO
