  2. Kenwood has decided on a new head coach. Expect the annoucement to come very soon.
  3. It doesn't matter if Bill Parcells moved to Lewisburg, Coach McCurry isn't going to give up any kind of control to anyone, especially not on offense, move away from the precious Wing-T??? Never!!! The only benefit to Marshall County is that there is one less good head coach in the region.
  4. When will Mr. Football awards be given to receivers? It's not 1920, there are many deserving receivers who don't get a shot because they fall into the same category with the backs. As we all know there is a huge difference between most receivers and backs. They now award Mr.Football awards to kickers for crying out loud.
  5. I agree bobcattfan it simply is not fair for schools to have 6-4 and 7-3 records and not go to the playoffs while teams with losing records are in the playoffs. The playoffs are a way to get the best teams a chance to play each other to find the best and with 1-9 and 2-8 teams that simply isn't happening.
  6. Ron has a sure thing in Hillsboro right now. Even if he wanted the Independence job, he couldn't walk away from the talent he has at Hillsboro. This year's team isn't very talented by Hillsboro standards and are one of the best in the state. Their freshmen team is loaded and until the talent starts to thin out, which is unlikely anytime soon, I can't see him leaving.
  7. The players deserve ALL the credit, especially the seniors. After a poor first half they kept their heads up, played their game, had FUN, and REFUSED TO LOSE. They are to be admired for their effort. I hate to see them go, but I am so gratful it happened the way it did.
  8. The Raiders showed tremendous heart rallying for 29 fourth quarter point to defeat cross-town rival Columbia Central tonight. Great Job Raiders!!!
  9. Saddiq Ziyad Spring Hill (4A) 58 catches for 981 yards Jermey Gales Spring Hill --Commited to Vanderbilt plays both DE and OT Great kid and student. Walter Fisher Jr. Hillsboro--May be the best raw talent in the state
  10. Saddiq Ziyad of Spring Hill. 58 catches for 981 yards through 9 games.
  11. Saddiq Ziyad Spring Hill 6'4 215lbs. 48 catches for 827 yards
  12. Two of the best players I have seen in 4A are LB Walter Fisher Jr. from Hillsboro and WR Saddiq Ziyad from Spring Hill. Both of these players can dominate a game.
  13. I have seen both teams play and this one won't be close. In the region, it is still Hillsboro and then everyone else. Lawrence County will do well to keep it close through halftime. Good Luck to both teams.
  14. Pearl Cohn has size, size, and more size. They aren't real fancy and don't have to be. They were more physical than Hillsboro and simple pounded them so that should tell you all you need to know.
  15. Columbia has some speed in the backfield but there is little to expand uopn elsewhere. Their passing game is suspect and their defense was hit hard by graduation. Their defensive line has size but size doesn't equal talent if youknow what I mean. As far as the team concept goes Franklin definately has the edge. This one has the potential to get ugly, but Columbia has just enough explosiveness in the backfield to make it a game. Franklin 35 Columbia 17
  16. Roger is now the head coach at Spring Hill's feeder school, E.A. Cox.
  17. Columbia will play Giles County Marshall County will play Lawrence County Spring Hill will Play Creekwood
  18. The new coach at Mt. Pleasant will be... annouced at a later date, if ever.

  20. The Daily Herald reports that the score was 21-21.
  21. I have to agree with the Vanderbilt strength and conditioning motto that says: SPEED KILLS STRENGTH PUNISHES
  22. What are the thoughts on Marshall County this year?

You can't exactly replace a player like Jason Hoath, but to answer the question Spring Hill will likely start upcoming senior, #19 Derek Tuttle. Although a contrast from Jason, he is a more than capable quarterback who filled in for Jason several times during the season and did an excellent job. One thing he already has over Hoath is experience in the offense, this being his second year in it, a luxury Jason never had. [Edited by mbraiders on 2-28-03 12:52P]

The most exciting offenses have to be Tullahoma and Spring Hill. Thery are the only two teams that truly depend on the pass as a part of their offense. Granted Shelbyville will pass every now and then they to are like the rest of the region and are very much run oriented. Just look at the score when Tullahoma and Spring Hill played this year...63 to 40!!!!!! That's a lot of offense!
