It needs to be done, so I'm gonna do it..........REGION 5 OVERALL IS JUST PLAIN BETTER THAN REGION 6. There....I'm glad i got that off my chest. The following is ALL TRUE, NOT BIASED RHETORIC. CPA will beat Huntland, DCA will beat Cascade, Mt. Pleasant will beat FRA (and then think they can play with region 5) Davidson will beat Wayne County IN THE FIRST ROUND. So only 1 region 6 team will be alive after round 1. And then CPA will beat Mt. Pleasant. So NO region 6 team will get past round 2. I've seen them all play. I'm gonna be bold(and truthful) and say that the only region 6 team that has had a chance to make any noise the past few years was Collinwood in 2001. Relax region 5 fans, only 2 more weeks to hear region 6 talk. Then they shall become extinct. Although we're used to it, it happens every year.

Gauge, you do realize that in order for you to GET to the 3rd round you have to win in round 1 and 2 don't you???? I'm all about school spirit and i'm glad you have it but DCA is one of the best teams in the Midstate regardless of classification. And i believe cascade plays them first round. But you probably still don't believe me, just be ready because when DCA comes out on the field friday, you'll see for yourself. Enjoy the 0-0 tie at the beginning......need i say more? Cascade's coming off an impressive night against MP. I think DCA might be too much though. I think DCA wins easily but please prove me wrong cascade fans!! Let's start the chatter......

Chris Wooden- DCA Reached the 5,000 rushing yard mark last game for his career. That puts him in the top 10 EVER in the state. Great Athlete and great kid! He is the backbone of the undefeated DCA team and has been for 3 years. He should've been nominated last year.

Well, people from DCA and CPA(and Nashville) have been anticipating this one for a while. I thought I'd get the talk going. For CPA, they MUST establish their run with landers and Pollock must be on target and make smart decisions. Sikes wasn't much of a factor last year in the playoffs for cpa and they were still in the game until late in the 4th. For DCA, I see CPA getting WOODENIZED. (Yeah, i just made up a word). He always shows up in huge games. I think He's averaged over 9 yards a carry the past few games. HE IS BACK TO FORM(I was @ the FRA game). A big game here will boost his Mr. Football legitimacy greatly. We'll see if he can carry his team like last year. Add to that DCA's quarterback and the sheer massiveness of DCA's line and I bet DCA puts cpa in their place. My prediction is DCA 27 CPA 10. Gonna be a great game- can't wait.

be worried about dca, after seeing both play multiple times, it could get ugly if cpa doesn't play their absolute best game. i say dca by 17.

Well it's time. The anticipated DCA CPA matchup has arrived. So what does CSS do? They're gonna cover the Riverdale WILSON CENTRAL GAME instead. Does anyone else see that game as a blowout???? Bad decision i think but anyway let's talk about this matchup. DCA OR CPA - WHY?

Large, you are a moron. DCA is in a region where there are 8 teams which means each team MUST be played. Boyd's region is not that big so they can schedule more outside games. Your comments show your ignorance and stupidity- but everyone could tell that anyway.....no need for me to point it out. hsfootball, i don't know what scrimmage you attended? The DCA Hillwood scrimmage was dominated by DCA. If you honestly believe hillwood could put up 50 on DCA's defense, you obviously weren't at the scrimmage. I'm Not picking at you, i'm just getting the facts straight.

Hey thanks for the enlightenment cbarkley! I follow DCA and let me tell you something......People talk about Wooden because he single handedly carried a team to the blue cross bowl last year. The CPA playoff game last year (which i was at) was the single most outstanding game i have ever seen by a high school player- guess who it was? (Hint 300 yards rushing). When this guy from nashville christian shows the skill and superior abilities wooden has shown throughout his ENTIRE career at DCA then you can start talking. I have children at DCA and they say he's a great guy and when i talk to him he is a respectful young man so back off and give him his credit....he deserves and he's earned it. anyway, i say DCA by 35. Congrats to CPA on their win but i think it will become evident in weeks to come that Goodpasture is not the powerhouse they have been in the past. I want to take nothing away from cpa but i believe region 5-1A will field better teams than Goodpasture( i.e. DCA. ) Prediction- Riverdale by 40 pretty easily.

Well this just reiterates everyones comments about him being overrated. You don't quit because your just better than everyone else. He probably hit reality. Good Luck though.

I agree on alot of these posts as well. But I can't help but suggest Chris Wooden from DCA. Coming off that injury which basically cost DCA a championship, i think him and that team have something to prove. I'm gonna follow DCA this year just to watch this kid play- talent and heart. I watched about 8 DCA games last year and believe me, there was a world of difference between wooden being healthy and not. He was the team.

It was just released on the website that DCA running back Chris Wooden will be the Monday Night Live with Jeff Fisher Player of the Week tonite at 7:00. Congrats Chris on the best game I've ever seen by any individual Friday Night. You deserved it. It's a travesty and a crime that he wasn't nominated MR. FOOTBALL because he is without question the best back in 1A. Also congrats to CPA on an excellent game. It was the best game I've been to in a while and I'll definenty be at the heated rematch next year!

This years's playoffs between region 5 and region 6 should settle some arguments that have taken place here on Coacht lately. Region 5 and 6 are having great years as usual and if CPA can be held out of the playoffs, that could propel Wayne County pretty far and then set up a first round matchup of DCA vs Huntland. There have been numerous posts on many threads about the better runningback-Wooden from DCA or Fanning from Huntland. But that's not the only argument that would be settled in the playoffs, if Collinwood makes it to round 2, that would set up the DCA vs Collinwood matchup. Once again, posts all over this site ask: Wooden from DCA or Risner from Collinwood? All these teams would have alot to prove and we might just settle these runningback arguments too! Yeah I just read this article about Wooden. Wow, 210 lbs, that's a load. He's put on some weight since I saw him last as a freshman. I was just wondering what people who have played against him think. How does he compare to Landers of CPA or Todd of Ezell as a runningback. Is there a comparison? Anybody out there in region 5 who has gone against him head to head? I'd like to hear their thoughts. Traditionally, the state championship team has the Mr. Football if there is a dominant player on the winning team. Is he in this category if DCA does make it and win? DCA's gonna have some tough games coming up. I'm looking forward to seeing Wooden and DCA play at the CPA game (along with everyone in Nashville I think) coming in a couple weeks at DCA. Today, Jerry Mundy, a Mt. Juliet police officer and parent of a junior DCA football player was tragically killed in the line of duty today while attempting to stop 2 fleeing suspects in a stolen mercedes. Jerry was a well respected christian man and loved coaching and participating with his kids in their athletics. Please pray for the family of Jerry Mundy during this tramatic time. A Memorial fund has been set up at the Mt. Juliet National Bank of Commerce. Funeral Arrangements have yet to be determined.

Hey Bigman72, it sounds like you're on the dca team. How do you'll look this year? I've seen Wooden play (yeah he's a player) and I was wondering if he's gonna be a senior this year. And also what about the rest of the dca team. I know you'll lost your qb from last year. Does anyone else have any info on the teams in region 5 1A this year. I know FRA was young last year and CPA will always field a good team just because of the coaching. As for ezell their 15 minutes of fame is gone I think and there's alot of teams ready to smack them after what they did the last two years and how they handled themselves . I went to a few of their games and one word describes their team "classless" but it's the coaches fault for not putting a stop to it. But anyway, Are any of the other 5 teams in this region gonna make any noise?
