Boog Knoxville Catholic is playing at Corbin in August. They have games with Brentwood, Brentwood Academy, Ensworth, Science Hill, McCallie and Baylor. Welcome to DII
If memory serves me correct, Bearden did have Tyler Nordin (who transferred into Bearden) playing as well as a couple of juniors and some of their varsity players. If anyone knows Coach Hutchens he doesn’t play juniors on JV and the only guys still playing for Catholic are Akeem Odusipe and Sam Sompayrac. Those jv games were down to the wire and Bearden has some good young talent returning and should compete. Bearden and Maryville will be the top two teams in 4AAA next year. Maryville probably has the edge with Anderson and Cornollio returning. It seems like everyone in the district had a lot of seniors on their team. HVA and West had some talented freshman teams. Might as well play them as sophomores.
Knoxville Catholic is looking for Hall of Fame Games for the following dates: November 18, 19, 20, 21, or 23 home or away. Contact Mike Hutchens (mhutchens@knoxvillecatholic.com) if anyone is interested.
Why? Because a team did what they needed to do to stay in a game. A good coach puts his team in a position to win, if you cant' run with Bearden why try? Not many teams can match the Bulldogs basket for basket.
To go 28-4 in this District and Region is more than darn good. Maryville is well coached and they play to their strengths. As far as next year Maryville should win the district and possibly the region. Almost every team in 4AAA is taking hits with senior graduation and Catholic is moving to D-2.
I'm sure the coaches at Catholic would appreciate your vote of confidence. Catholic was very young this year starting 1 senior (Ryan MacDonald), a junior (Akeem Odusipe), a sophomore (Sam Sompayrac), and 2 freshman (Brian Edwards and Handje Tamba). The 6th man was a freshman too (Presley Patterson). The Irish had to replace four starters off last seasons team with the MacDonald being the one returning player. Odusipe was a transfer from Knoxville Christian School. For them to finish 25-7 with all those new faces was considered a very good season. Now the Irish move to DII and will look to improve off this year.
No apologies needed it’s just social media. Besides I use to live in Johnson City and Morristown, (I have a previous connection to University School and Morristown East) so I follow some of the teams up there. I’ve seen D-B and Science Hill play this year, I haven’t had a chance to see Sevier County or Mo-East.
Because the thread says Class AAA District 1,2,3,4, (Region 1 and 2) that’s why. It’s easier to update both regions since eventually they’ll be playing in the sections. If I offended you my apologies.
Bearden defeats Central 71-38; Maryville defeats Karns 80-72; Oak Ridge defeats West 78-63 and Catholic defeats Clinton 84-56. Tuesday night at Oak Ridge 6:00 Bearden vs. Maryville and at 7:30 Oak Ridge vs. Catholic
5 Guys is too expensive (but delicious); I’ve never heard of Campout or In and Our Burgers; Whataburger is the worst tasting burger I’ve ever eaten; I’ve never been to or eaten Big Ed’s (and no pizza place will ever come close to Italian Fiesta on the south side of Chicago) and you’re correct Willie, Oak Ridge wins Saturday night, but come on dude show a sense of humor life’s to short to have your happiness predicated on a high school athletic team’s performance. lol smile brother I was only kidding sir.
