No Herndon's return yards are seperate these are just the rushing yards. NOt passes recived, punt returns, kickoff returns or interception returns. just rushing. Both are good backs. but I would have to lean toward Herndon because I have seen defenses put in packages this year to just stop him and fail. Herndon also has shared carries with Clint Russell and others in the wing-t attack. He is probably over 4500 yards in his 4 years at Greenbrier. If they went by Total offensive yards then Herndon would have won last year easily.

The last time Marshall was at Bobcat field was 2001. This was not there first time either as Greenbrier and Marshall have played Home/Away series in the late 90's. Good Luck BOBCATS

You can go the interstate or go cross country like me. Go Hwy 49 through Ashland City. Cross the river and to the top of the hill to the community of Greenbrier. Turn left on Hwy 250 and go about 14 miles to Hwy 47. turn right onto Hwy 47 and go about 7 - 10 miles and the school is on the left. (Look for the school zone signs) If you can leave early enough I highly suggest to everyone a great place to eat in White Bluff. Carl's Perfect Pig on hwy 70. They have some of the best ribs around.

I was glad to see the Tennessee Highway Patrol hard at work Friday night at the Bobcats Stadium. It is my understanding that two of the patrolmen met up with a truck load of Beach Fans and ask for their autographs. Attention Beach fans........... Never pile in the back of a truck and travel on a highway. This is dangerous and against the law.......... It is also pretty dumb to ride by a stadium cussing and waving flags from a vehicle while two patrolmen are watching........ Just some points to ponder as you continue your season.

The other 2 a schools in that region was Upperman, Cannon Co, and Jackson Co. I don't blame them for wanting to get away from the privates but it sure blew up the old district.

The public schools hate you and the private schools use you. You are now an overpaid politican. The last go around alot of 2a schools Trousdale Co and others left 2a to get away from private schools. tssaa put them up with Portlands District and booted Greenbrier out dispite the long rivalries with Portland and Macon. Greenbrier and Portland do enjoy a spring scrimage each year. Greenbrier and Macon scrimage before the season.

I am truly glad to see all of the "football guru's" post are deleted. Now if we could only find away to not here him in the stands. I have been around Greenbrier football along time. There is always someone who likes to run their mouth about things they really don't know anything about. "Football Coaching experience" can only be applicable to the level in which one coaches. Coach Williams has been coaching for over twenty years and has taken many teams to the play-offs as well as coached a State Championship team. I don't think you want to compare "coaching experience" with him or any of the other coaches out there. These football forums can be good and bad. If you keep the players and community in mind when you but up your post and keep it positive it is a good thing to have. But when a player gets on here and reads how about how his coach is no good and their team is going to lose by one of their own "supporters" (and I use that term loosely) it can be a bad thing. Some people who now believe they are the next Brett Musberg, Hope Hines or Murphy Fair of Football... who like to listen to talk radio to increase their knowledge of the game.. and who like to call in to talk radio and give their biased facts of the game... can ruin the whole system. The offense did struggle at times last week. Did you see the replay on TV. There were certain players who were totally blowing blocking assignments. That will kill any offense. Coach Williams is an outstanding coach, and person. In your own words Coach Williams is a Class Act much more reliable than you Maybe it is you who should be talked about here. Maybe someone should attack your character and the way you do your job. You don't know anything about his his character or his confidence. You might want to talk to him before you slander him by saying he has no confidence in his team. So I guess I am also “Old” Greenbrier. Well maybe I am but I am proud of our school, our community, and all of our teams and coaches. I support them and in doing so I don’t question their authority that they have unless they abuse it. I have entrusted my child to a coach that I trust. If I didn’t like the coach my child wouldn’t play. I wouldn’t want to be a hypocrite. You cannot like or support something that you publicly criticize. I know you can have any opinion you want but please don't force it on all the true supporter that have to sit around you. No sour grapes here. I am truley glad for both of you Maybe a new survey could be made on coaches pay. public schools pay 3 to 6% supplement. Almost all of them teach classes during the day. and i do know about Ezell and Smith. I am only going on his quote in the paper. He told Public coaches to quit crying and get off thier butts and coach. What did he do when he was at public schools.... what was his record???? how well do you know the facts?... I wonder if he liked playing private schools then?

Coach Smith had supportive fans and staff at Greenbrier. I know I was there. Fact is ...... well I will not get into that. Glad for Smith and gald he has left Greenbrier. We finally found a Coach that will work his butt off for the kids. Not for money.. and not for fame.. Ezell and Smith deserve each other If some private schools didn't try to break passing records against other schools when the game is clearly under control the split may have never come. There is a big difference in public and private schools. If there wasn't a difference we would not have any private schools. [Edited by painter on 11-17-02 12:29A]
