Smith is also a great guard that wasn't mentioned earlier. Cumberland County has the ability to win state. Their defense is extremely intense when it needs to be. I would not want to face Brown and Foster together up front, they are amazingly quick, plus Hood adds size to the paint, and Elmore is very athletic and can stay with anyone as long as she stays out of foul trouble and gets that ankle healed!! I believe most of the players will end up at Stone, and I believe that is where Coach Smith will go as well, but lets worry about winning out this year and we'll see what happens from there.

I dont think Rolo's statement was a stab to Oakland. I dont know that it would have been 10 points or more but i do agree with her in that the outcome would quite possibly have been a lot different had the attitudes been different. teams arent 27-4 by accident or luck or anything like that. you can always take something and turn it into a fault about every coach, but he is obviously doing something right. Also, his players believe in him, otherwise they wouldnt be 27-4 with a chance at making their first ever birth in the state tournament.

I would have to say that statistically Cleveland is the best, but i believe when Cumberland realizes what they CAN be, they may prove to be the best. It should be close between cleveland and cumberland.

If anyone is capable of beating them i would have to say its Cumberland, but they are gonna have to bring their a game and come out on fire and ready to play!!

sorry...didnt mean to start 2 threads...oops anyway, i would have to say that Cumberland has really improved. they are showing some great potential. Bradley still has Pickel and Jackson so they aren't down this year.

All I know for sure are the girls team results, but i'll try to give what i remember from both: Girls: Bradley-1st Cleveland-2nd Cumberland County-3rd Boys: McMinn-1st Bradley-2nd (i think) not sure about 3rd Girls individuals: Casha Foster-CCHS-10th Jenna ????-Bradley-6th Jackie Pickel-Bradley-4th ????-Cleveland-1st Red Bank had 2 finish in top 10, but not sure what place or who Rhea County had 1 in top 10 Boys individuals: McMinn runner got 1st Joseph Delorenzo-CCHS-10th sorry i cant provide any more info, but hopefully this will help

Cumberland County played at Soddy and beat Hixson 2-0, Boyd Buchanon 3-0, Red Bank 1-0, and Walker Valley 1-0. Way to go!!

Swami...your comment about kids not having chances at college scholarships under her is crazy. She is sending 2 out of her 3 seniors to college. One to Marrs hill and one to roane state. The other senior simply doesnt want to play college ball.

yes, CCHS had a losing record...but in case you forgot, your record is 0-0 when the tourney starts. And if record is the problem there are coaches at CCHS with records worse than hers that still have their job. Oh yeah, and by the way they had the 6th strongest schedule ranking just before tourneys started...just thought i'd add that.

what happened to Fuller...I haven't seen her name in the stats much.

Wartburg won...41 to 21 i think...or somethin close to that. Also, Rockwood lost to Oneida.

Watch out for Cumberland County. I know they don't have a great record...but that's just what may help them. They can surprise a few teams if they aren't ready. They only lost to Cleveland by 9 and had a bad game, they weren't hitting any shots(free throws included) and they didn't do a good job on the boards, they allowed 14 offensive for 17 pts. And last time the played Cleveland they only lost by 6, so it isn't just a fluke. Be ready!! Go jets!!

although Cleveland does statistically have the edge, i think any of those 4 teams are capable of winning. All of them have played each other close, so i think it could go several different ways
