When did they scrimmage? I know its early in the year but is SH not going to be very good this year??

Heard rumors that the two scrimmaged recently with oak ridge coming out on top, any truth to it????

Geez Rangerboy, you answered your own question. SH beat you by 21 and they arent even close to being the best 3A teams that come to the tourney, if you cant hang with SH then there is no way you will hang with the others. And if you want to talk about size of schools then go ahead, but that has nothing to do with playing a team. Should we feel sorry for unaka when they play a 3A team and spot them 15 points just because Unaka is smaller. I dont think so. Maybe the arbys officials will look into that. As for TN High, congrats, you ALMOST beat them. But you didnt.

Unaka fans just need to drop it. They didnt get invited, again, so deal with it. Good job to the rangers last year, they won state in single A. Any one remember what happened when they played local science hill in roundball. Oh yea, they got ran out of the gym. single A to AAA is to much of a gap to play. And science hill isnt even one of the top teams in the arbys. There is now way unaka can hang with whitestation or bradley. Wont happen

First of all i was a Topper in high school and always will be a Topper. And i know this is a DB thread but that quote sums up the game better than anything else. Morgan was the difference in the game...like always. Poe cant coach at all and needs to get the boot. congrats to the indians and maybe next year toppers... if you can get a new coaching staff

Backcourt, you dont know your basketball very well. yes unaka might be a powerhouse in 1A but not with the big dawgs like SH or Tenn High. SH just toyed with unaka winning easily by 20 and never being tested. Tonight should be a good game with Mt Juliet after they put it to tenn high and won also by about 20. tip off for SH game is at 8

Nobody has said anything about the toppers. Yes DB beat them and was the top team in the east this year, but no one has posted anything about Science Hill, it has all been about how DB got blasted by the far superior memphis whitestation.

Tribe is right wsp, that was a bad post. maybe you think it is dumb to support your former school but if you were to go to SH or DB, schools that are always powerhouses, then you would not be ashamed to support your team out of high school. and i agree with Surf, once a topper always a topper. im out.

SH weak?? I think not. Both greenville and DB have to learn that you have to play 32 minutes to beat the hill. DB did dominate the game at SH but greenville didnt dominate it. We beat greenville on a neutral court by 9 and at home. Dont say science hill or DB is weak till you beat us.

Did anyone read the Kingsport paper about the game? Greenvilles coach can not handle a loss. Both the SH game and DB game he makes excuses as to why they lost, always on the refs. That man has no class at all. Congrats to the Indians on their win. [Edited by UKCATS1 on 12-21-02 9:33A]

Wilburn and Mckinney are both still on the team. I believe Poe is changing around the second team to try and get them more productive. It seems he is just trying out different combinations of players. Fprney is just a freshman and seems to be like he could be a good player in the coming years. As for Hardin and Jenkins i am not sure but i think they have quit on their own choice. I did hear that Jenkins is transferring to rhea county but im not sure of that. Toppers didnt look to impressive against Greenville, but they dont give up. They have heart but just need to play Topper ball for 32 minutes. Good luck SH

Well it appears Greenville still might not have enough to beat the Toppers. Greenville dominated first half but Science Hill had a terrible shooting night from outside. Second half the toppers came out and made a run and took the game over. Greenville just isnt deep enough to beat the toppers. These two teams will meet at least 2 more times this season...should be a good series.

PTP I agree Science Hill might not be the 15th best team in the south east buy they are far from bad. Science Hill always has a good, solid team. This year will be no different. I heard that they had a pretty good summer. their record was 23-5 or thereabouts. So i dont know which game you are referring too. But it doesnt matter. Nothing can be said to much till season starts. The Hill will be ready, you can bet on that.

From what i heard the scrimmage was pretty lopsided. Science hill won by close to 40. No disrespect to unaka though. Like about everyone else on here says, they give good effort and wont back down from anyone. I heard Chambers did well for unaka. I have seen him play a couple times and he is a solid post player. SH, however was to deep and to quick for the rangers. SH scrimmages Hampton tuesday at hampton, i believe. Good luck to both teams this year.
