  1. Because I question the prediction that Carter will finish 3rd in the toughest region in the state doesn't mean I am "trashing" your hornets. It's amazing what winning 3 games and getting absolutely polaxed in the first round of the playoffs has done for your confidence. Let's see - Carter has one combined win against Halls and Powell in the last decade and all of the sudden they are going finish ahead of both of them in the region? Hmmm.
  2. Carter third? Sounds like some of the Carter faithful have been smoking from the same stash as the Iraqi information minister. The rebels will come to dan boring and remind the bobcats that it's not good enough to just talk the talk, brother! Bobcats, what are you going to do when the rebel nation runs wild all over you!
  3. 4afan, I've been hangin out with my boys in maryville getting them ready to win another state championship next year. I haven't been on much lately, but I will say that I'm sickened by the lovefest that CoachT is becoming. Back in the day sneakypete, snaggle, and yourself were some of the best agitators out there. What's going on? You guys softened up in your old age, or have you just sold out to the "evil empire?"
  4. This lovefest on here is making me sick. Is this CoachT, or the Oprah show? You guys quit holding hands and get back to what CoachT is all about.
  5. OR fans make me nauseous. When they win it's because of the players and when they lose it's because of the coaches. You guys need to wake up and realize that you are NOT the premier program in East Tennessee anymore and, furthermore, you never will be again! Keep reliving the glory days and see how many championships that wins you in the future. As for the coaches show, I keep looking for those shows every night after 10:00, but my television seems to be stuck on the "art" films on Cinemax.
  6. I don't know that you can refer to those massacres that took place between Gibbs and Halls as rivalries. Based on my inside sources, Coach Carroll said as long as he's coach that they will never play Halls again. I believe the only reason it was a good gate is because it was a Thursday night game, kind of a "kickoff classic." It appears that Gibbs is shying away from the tougher competition in 3-4a.
  7. I thought I was offering some good advice here too, dilweed. I guess the moderators didn't think it was too funny. Not everyone appreciates our sense of humor, do they? Wasn't Albert Einstein a misunderstood man as well?
  8. I heard that Mitch Lawerence can't walk and chew gum at the same time. He sounds pretty talented.
  9. I agree about soccer being exciting. It ranks a close second behind my favorite spectator sport - watching paint dry.
  10. You boys are forgetting about the red devils, aren't you? 1. Maryville - Don't hate us cause you ain't us! 2. Central - Good enough to win any region but this one. 3. Halls - Much improved offensively 4. Powell - Lost Milligan, but still well coached. 5. Carter - More talented, but depth is question. 6. Clinton - Lost talented QB to eligiblity problem. 7. West - Still struggling to put it together.
  11. Seriously dude, unless your real name is Jesus then I wouldn't be using the name.
  12. I like that one pussman. I have several that have got my teams fired up over the years, but I guess my favorite would have to be: "Boys, if we don't get out there and win, we're going to get beat!" This is usually followed by the boys all mobbing each other and forming a mosh pit. Then we go and put the final knife in the coffin of the other team.
  13. I agree bossman. There is absolutely no room on this board for anyone to be cute or stupid or something.
  14. Me and my brother ran a great multiple set offense in the backyard when we were little. We'd decide in the huddle whether to run or throw it and the defense had no idea what we were going to do! Then, at the LOS, if I wanted to change the play I'd just yell "Pass," or "Run." If it was pass, my little bro would do a down, out, and down to the pine tree and I'd let the ball go just as the rushing defense would get to 4 mississippi. Sometimes, just for fun, I'd pump fake and do a little razzle, dazzle Micheal Vick style and throw the ball on the run. We always scored and our little sisters would cry everytime. I can't wait to explain our defensive philosophy. Anyone have any questions, please email me.
  15. Ollie, you ever spent time in a Turkish prison? It sounds as if you and 4afan may be old friends. As president of the welcoming committee here on coacht, it's my duty to share with you the ground rules: 1) Never, ever question the rebels domination, yeah brother! You do, and you face immediate expulsion from this and all boards of its kind, 2) Don't accuse any team of cheating or recruiting. Our motto is "It ain't cheating unless we get caught." 3) Stay away from threads with posts by 4afan, dilweed, vicker, and snagglepus. They are all naysayers who are just trying to drag everyone else down with them. 4) Finally, if anyone makes a sensible point on here, immediately question their manhood and challenge them to step outside with you. Follow these simple rules and you should fit right in!
  16. 4afan, you sound pretty familiar with trains. You know as well as I do that all the fun is in the engineer's seat, not in the passenger seat. You ever been the engineer for the caboose?
  17. So, what you're saying is that in effect you are forcing anyone who wants to post to join CoachT if I understand you correctly. Thanks, but no thanks. I'll take my $12 and spend it on something more useful, like a nanny goat.
  18. I'm not sure what you're getting at with the bus reference. I've not ever driven a bus, but I have ran a few trains and definitely enjoyed that. [Edited by billygoat2 on 3-19-03 10:39A]
  19. That's a pretty good explanation there cowboy. I agree with your LB philosophy. However, I think one thing needs to be emphasized when you're coaching defense. Your scheme better match your personnel. If you're playing a 4-3 without a stud MLB, then you're wasting your time. I think the best defensive coaches make sure their personnel suits what their schemes are. One last thing - Simplicity is also a great philosophy to follow. Too many coaches get caught up in trying to impress with their different blitz/coverage packages and in the process lose their kids. [Edited by billygoat2 on 3-18-03 2:19P]
  20. flyinlo, get your freaking facts straight before you get on here discussing the Knox Co tax structure. Carter's share of the tax moneys in Knox Co are no different than any other school in Knox Co. The fact that their field was a disaster last year had nothing to do with Knox Co. Each school is responsible for upkeep of it's own playing surface, if I'm not mistaken.
  21. What's with all this Jr pro talk on here? Are you hornet supporters so excited about your football team that all you want to talk about is your saturday morning squabbles? We're not too concerned about our Jr. pro program out in Rebel country. We feed the little rebs cone cakes every saturday morning as they dream of one day wearing the awesome Maryville Reb Jersey!
  22. I agree about Friday Night Lights being an awesome book. The Feinstein book about the Army/Navy rivalry is also a good read. My all-time favorite though is "Let's tackle each other baby!"
  23. Should read: ...posters, supporters, friends, and dads put on them.
  24. Heck, I'm bigger than I was last year, so does that mean I'm going to be better?
  25. Hey weedman, don't go knocking those varicose veins til you've tried em. My last girlfriend had them all up and down her legs and she was hot! I wasn't much of an athlete back in the day, but man I could play a mean tuba in the band. I told pops up front that he'd better never brag about how good I was either, but he was smart enough to know that IF I WAS ANY GOOD THE ATTENTION WOULD COME ON ITS OWN.
