Our playoff system is designed for one thing - to make the TSSAA money. Those 1st place v. 4th place games are ridiculous. I say any coaches out there with any nads needs to drop out of the TSSAA and form their own association. What's the TSSAA good for anyway? All they do is make ridiculous rules which no one follows and collect money from member schools. AS for Carter improving under Woods, I think 4Afan has a point. Are they a premier team? No. However, they're not the perennial doormat they were in the late 90's when they had idiots for coaches.

The lack of quality coaching will catch up to them by the time they are seniors. Next 3 years : 5-5, 4-6, 3-7. Maryville moves to 5A and gets it handed to them every week. Beautiful. Teams from everywhere will be calling to get maryville on their non-region schedule for an easy week. GQ will move on to a better job at Heritage. The maryvillian clan will be on here daily crying about how good it was back in the day. Mark it down - Central rules Ft. City, Knoxville, and East Tennessee, brother! Come get some!

I seriously can't see Carter slowing down C. Jackson for 4 quarters. When's the last time Central lost 2 games in a row? When's the last time Carter won 3 games in a row? Look for history to repeat itself as the Bobcats continue their tuneup for the dog-stomping showdown with the team south of the river.

If what I'm hearing about the allegations is true, I can't imagine him getting punished any worse than the Gibbs coach did a few weeks ago. What's the world coming to? A coach can't cuss at his kids, punch them, or throw things at them. How in the world are you supposed to get them motivated?

What's the deal with 3-4A? Who would have thought that at this point in the season that Halls, Powell, Clinton, and West combined only have 2 wins? The 2 "premier" teams, Maryville and Central, also don't appear to have championship caliber teams this year. Is this simply a down year for the region, or has the region seen it's better days?
