The fans are posting on here- not players or coaches. I doubt any Boyd fans have made the trip to watch Coalfield play and that any Coalfield fans have come to watch Boyd so the fans don't know that much about either team's abilities. Both teams have to be good or they wouldn't still be playing. I can assure you that the Boyd players and coaches are not overlooking this team. They are hungry for another trip to Murfreesboro. And by the way, the field being nicknamed the Swamp is not because Boyd thinks they are like an SEC school - you'll understand when you get there. It really is a swamp. GO BUCS!!

The article didn't have a quote from anyone "in charge" or from Coach Jones himself just a parent from the Booster Club. He doesn't deserve to be tried in a public forum. I seriously doubt that anyone would be stupid enough to write a check to another person who is completely uninvolved with the Central football team. I have a feeling there is more to this story than we know. That one parent who broke the story may be mad that his kid didn't get enough playing time. I'm not a Central fan, but Jones has done a good job with his teams in the past.

Boyd probably will not dominate - they usually spread the awards out among the region. I know you love the Bucs, but sometimes you just need to shut up. You make us look bad. If Coach Akins knew who you were, he'd run your tail till it was dragging the ground. You're probably in middle school, and if you're not then you need to quit talking like you are.

I think you are misinformed of what "No Child Left Behind" means, at least for Hamilton County. Low performing schools are paired with high performing schools based on test dated. The students from the 'low' schools have the option of transferring to a "high" school. The point the other guy is trying to make is that private schools in Hamilton County are experiencing a tremendous jump in enrollment because of the budget cuts and the fact that some parents don't want the kids from the "low performing schools" in the school with their kids. I don't mean they are elitist, just stating a fact. If you are sending your kid to a private school because of the woes of Hamilton County schools and your kid loves a certain sport then you will probably send them to a school that has performed well in that sport. The tradition of winning at Boyd is enticing to some.

Grad; IF you didn't spend all your spare time posting on Coach T and hanging around your old school hoping for a morsel of football news so you can act like you're "in the know" and IF you played on a winning football team when you were at OHS and IF you had a life THEN your thoughts would deserve consideration. You're a has been still living in high school. The real players don't have to brag about the team - they prove it on the field. I hope Ooltewah has their best year ever. Lots of great players, great coaches, and (with a few exceptions) great fans.

Why do all you Ooltewah guys get on every Boyd thread and talk about how superior you are to us? Aren't you guys supposed to be having the best year so far in the history of your own school? Don't you have anything to talk about that has to do with your own team? I can't think of a single Boyd player or fan that wouldn't wish you all the best of luck this season. You are a 5A school with like 1600 kids in high school. Boyd is 1A with 900 K-12. Aren't you supposed to beat teams like us? Are you anywhere close to 5x better? No way! Go get your own conversation started about your own team. When you get on here hatin' another Chatt team it makes you look jealous. Maybe that's the problem with you guys.

Bill- You are really behind!! HW is not even playing on Boyd's team this year. Sorry to disappoint you and ruin your credibility. Also, I know the defensive backs coach very well. That accusation is a lie.

I think DCA will be a team to be highly regarded next year. Wooden showed a lot of heart to play in his condition. The team represented their school well and has a good shot to return next year and is not likely to get smacked around. CPA also returns a lot of key players and will certainly be prepared with the coaching staff they have. Best of luck to DCA next year, but "unbiased" you may seriously want to consider changing your name to something more appropriate!

BBS knew that all the DCA people would talk about how the game would have been so different with a healthy Wooden. I do think he would have gained more yards than he did, but it still wouldn't have been enough to change the outcome of the game. Boyd's defense proved they were dominate when they held DCA to a field goal during the first half. They assured the offense at halftime that all they had to do was score one time and the defense would shut down DCA's offense. BBS had the better team this year - that's why they have championships. BTW every team has injuries at this point in the year. BBS #65 tore his MCL during the game and played anyway. Both he and Wooden and anybody else who played hurt show a lot of character and determination which is a lot of what football is about.

I think the thing that has made most BBS players and fans upset about this tread is that a specific player was attacked for saying something that only the other team could have heard. #30 does his share of talking, but he doesn't really need to say too much because he does most of his talking on the field. The last time I checked, football was about cleaning somebody's clock and protecting your end of the field. Not exactly a game where everyone plays nice and never talks their oponent down. It is a physical and mental game. #30 probably said something like that every time he hit the guy, just to remind him that he would be back and get him again and again. If the bad language was used, then that is not right, but this is not the forum to discuss that. If you were truly concerned about that one player influencing the reputation of BBS then it would be handled differently. Also...you all say that God was on your team. Well guess what?? He is on every team. Just because CAK or BBS or who ever is a Christian school doesn't mean they get preferential treatment from God. I can guarantee you that many players at public school and private school alike call on God's help before every game. It offends people when you think God would help your team over any other team on any given night. We are all praying for safety and for God's help to play our best. I'll bet that if Jesus was here today, he wouldn't even go to private school at all and I don't believe that God would side with any school over a football game. It is a shame that all of this is even being discussed because I heard lots of compliments from both teams and fans about the game. CAK had a great season. Your facilities were very nice and everyone gave BBS a big welcome. Good luck next year! And #30, if you read this...play your heart out Friday! I know for a fact that your coach wouldn't trade you for anybody!
