  1. i dont know much about hixson, melrose, franklin county, or whitehaven so ill just predict the mba vs trinity and ba vs centennial games... -mba vs trinity, if mba plays to their potential no one can beat them. but they cant turn the ball over and need to force brohm to make choices he wouldnt ordinarily make again kentucky teams. mba is going to be showing him coverages he has never seen before and the defensive line is going to be better than teams trinity plays. this will help the mba defense keep trinity's offense in check. ive heard how improved trinity's defense is from last season and how tough they are going to be this year. oh well, i still think mba will move the ball all over the field on saturday. i wouldnt be surprised if ryan burns steps up and has a couple touchdowns running the ball. mba wins 30-18. -ba vs centennial- i can see brentwood academy blowing centennial out in this game. all of centennial's points will probably come late in the game when the backups are in. ba wins 28-14 in a game thats dominated from the start by ba. -hopefully all the other D2AAA teams win their games too.
  2. i really think baylor is going to upset a lot of people this year. their running back is really good and they seemed to have lots of athletes on their team last year and pretty good size.
  3. what?? did i just read that post correctly??? i do not even want to approach that post but i will let you know that ba is going to run all over centennial. holbert will run all over them and townsend will run all around them. i think wesvols should share his thoughts about that previous post.
  4. tom santi is ranked the 15th best tight end in the nation by rivals i think and tom lemming said he is one of the most atheltic in the nation. he can catch anything and is one of the better runners on the team i would say. he can make huge plays anytime. he has a pretty good range of schools to choose from. if he plays to his potential this year i think he could easily be one of the best players recruited from middle tennessee in a while. i dont really know who has offered fisher right now ask bigred3. also ask him for his autograph.
  5. Tito Lee from BA, Ingle Martin from MBA, Gerrald Riggs Jr. from Red Bank, Ralph King from Riverdale, John Henderson from Pearl Cohn are probably my top five.
  6. bryant hahnfeldt hurt his knee pretty bad in the ba soccer game this past spring and had surgery on it. it took a little bit longer than usual to heal but he has been cleared to play finally. david harper has been filling in for placekicking and brad french has done some punting lately. but now that bryant is back it should be mostly him doing all of the kicking. he has a really strong leg and will also help out in the defensive secondary this season.
  7. i dont really want to say what number i am or if i even play at all, i will say i am a junior though.
  8. if they can hold david holbert to 100 yards and no more than two touchdowns, then yes they have a decent shot at beating ba. if holbert has 200 yards and 4 touchdowns like he is capable of then there is no way centennial will be close with ba for this one.
  9. fisher wore a green jersey because no one wants to risk him getting injured in a meaningless scrimmage a week away from the biggest game of his life.
  10. ive heard that ba has a lot of talented younger running backs. supposedly an incoming freshman is an absolute beast at running back and also at track.
  11. yeah they did. i am a junior right now and when i was in 8th grade we beat enswoth 32-0. when the sophomores played them in 8th grade i think the score was 31-6 and i think andy snyder had their lone touchdown. i am not sure what the upcoming freshmen score against them was but i know they beat them.
  12. i am a student at mba and i will tell you straight up, i do not know one person in the entire school brought there to play a sport. mba offers the best education you can find anywhere. what you said is down right false and if you didn't mean to offend anyone you messed up. most of the starters for mba this year are from forest hills/belle meade/west meade/brentwood and franklin. no one was recruited from gallatin or smyrna or anything like that buddy. maryville was good last year, really good. by the end of the season mba was better though. no one would have been able to knock mba off last year. mba peaked and stayed on top for the remainder of the year and hopefully will carry everything into this year. maryville wouldn't have been anything special anyways if it weren't for carl stewart, and don't say thats not true because you know it is. i saw the game against hillsboro and i honestly thought that hillsboro was better. i just wish hillsboro played its best game that night because maryville would have been in trouble.
  13. he went to ensworth...sad but true.
  14. im with mba so ill share. first to cpa, yall were a darn good team. not huge in size but all of your players seem to really want to repeat this year and hustle. i think your biggest weakness is probably depth because yall are really well coached and do have talent all along your starting lineup. good luck against riverdale and i hope you enjoy embarassing ezell-harding this year. i think mba is probably saving some of their plays for trinity. coach rutledge has a deep playbook. there were some times tonight where mba seemed to kind of settle for a play that wouldnt normally be called in a game situation. a couple of times they threw the ball deep 2 or maybe 3 times in a row which is kind of strange. so i do not think that the whole playbook was in play tonight. the mba defense is going to be good this year. although they may not have shown it tonight the defensive line is probably just as good as the christian brothers line which dominated last year. clay haury, tommy hart, matt "future Mr. Football Lineman" bubis, and hughes tipton are all really strong and quick and will cause tons of pressure on the quarterback and get lots of backs down in the backfield. linebackers are all very talented with charlie morgan the best of the starters. jay pilkerton is an inredible athlete and has been playing linebacker for maybe 3 weeks and is already starting and provgin why on the field. jim beckner hurt some ribs but is back and seemed strong and healthy tonight. the secondary is going to be one of the strong points this year. matthew jacques, jed crumbo, and david harper all fast and strong cover corners who can tackle too. safeties benson "the freak" sloan and lewis dawson can play with any qb and tackle anyone. thats my take on mba this year, everyone already knows just how capable the mba offense is with studs everywhere but i just want everyone to know to be ready for mba's defense which may be overlooked sometimes. i also want to address the earlier comment on mba's second stringers...mba is not going to lose a beat for the next few years. the jv teams and freshmen teams are always better than everyone elses(no offense but its true). andy snyder is probably the best sophomore running back in middle tennessee except maybe someone from riverdale. good luck cpa, i wish yall would become D2. rollredroll and redtwin maybe yall will read this.
  15. haha gettis, from what i remember you were quite the beast. you were always running people over and showing just how powerful you really are. your blazing speed was just way too much for the mba secondary as you easily had 3 touchdowns matching brad french. you rushed for as many yards as ryan burns did as he was tearing up your entire defense and causing your simple minds to go awry. your precious little quarter back threw flawlessly except for the fact that our secondary actually lined up correctly twice and intercepted him returning one for a touchdown. you stud, you big time college prospect, maybe you and tom santi or michael fisher should go on a visit to georgia or to colorado or maybe even lsu or ut. oh wait thats right, you aren't as good as them. neither is your quarterback and it was evident the other day. mba vs ba is going to be an awesome game this year with two GOOD teams fighting for playoff seeding late in the season...im not so sure its going to be a blow out but of course i wouldnt know.
  16. i must inform you that my team is mba so no my team does not "stink". what an insult, "hey your team stinks". i just had a heart attack when you said the ezell quarterback is better than fisher. thats so far from being true its hilarious. ezell is 1A, mba is D2III. if fisher played 1A football his stats would be double any other qb. fisher would have won mr. football as a sophomore and junior(should have won it anyways) in 1A. i need to go get my inhaler real quick, im still in shock after i just learned fisher isn't as good as randy.
  17. collarbone....which scrimmage did you see yesterday? because you obviously did not see the mba vs ezell one. mba owned ezell in every single aspect of it. even the second and third strings manhandled ezell. that qb is the most overrated passer in the state without question. all ezell fans, have fun with cpa...my predicted score for that game is 35-7.
  18. except for a few plays by ezell it was mostly pure domination by mba. brad french had 3 touchdown catches for mba as michael fisher threw the ball really well. the mba defense was good except for a couple of runs and screen passes that turned into decent gains. there was never any doubt that mba was in control of this scrimmage.
  19. i think ryan burns is getting ready to have a breakout season. he has been unstoppable since 7th grade and has not peaked athletically yet by any means. i can't wait to watch him this season. mba has two really really good running backs this year.
  20. montgomery bell academy would appear to be the favorite to win it all in DII AAA this year for many reasons........ -superior coaching staff- best coaches in the state by far..mba always gets the best available -superstar talent- tom santi, michael fisher, michael koban, and matthew jacques will possibly all play D1 in college. -talented underclassmen- many underclassmen will start...freshmen football has only lost 1 game in the past 3 years and those freshmen are finally getting minutes -superior conditioning- no one works harder in the offseason than mba with two of the best strengh and conditioning coaches in D2 and the midstate and players who never miss workouts unless for other sports. -tough schedule prepares for play offs- two out of state games against nationally ranked trinity and mississippi powerhouse southaven. both teams have players ranked highly as recruits...trinity's qb of course is brian brohm but southaven has the number 18 ranked guard and the 2nd ranked safety. corey mills and david holbert are also ranked as superstar recruits. early season test against a ut signee in ryan karl also will test this tough defensive line. -momentum- mba peaked last year in the last few games and shouldn't seem to have any places of major concern this season except at kicker with bryant hanhfeldt recovering from knee surgery, but once he is healthy again mba will have a solid kicking game again.
  21. i heard that mba's star tight end tom santi was held out of this scrimmage. this just shows how strong mba is going to be this year.
  22. the tennessean, in my opinion, did a really poor job last year of covering high school football. lots of papers in big cities across the country have high school football covered daily in their sports sections while the tennessean has coverage of high school football on thursday, friday, and saturday. why doesn't the tennessean make more of an effort to cover high school football? i think that the nashville city paper does a really really good job with the stories they run and their coverage of high school football.

  24. they scrimage oakland and cpa at oakland friday and there freshmen team this year is very talented
  25. i have heard that father ryan has a scrimmage with oakland set up. father ryan has improved some this year, they have a really talented freshman team. the next two years will probably be rebuilding years but when this freshman class is in their junior year watch for father ryan to look a lot like it did back in 1996 and 1997.
