Good win by Oak Ridge tonight. 82-65. It was ugly at times, but overall we played well.

Final 84-24. Girls are still good.

Definitely agree. To advance further into the playoffs, we are going to need some lineman like we had 10-15 years ago. We were fortunate this year to have had 66 move into town. We should be better on the line with everyone coming back. I don't think we will have as much of a drop off as many people think, but I'll save that for the 2019 thread (which doesn't need to start for a couple of weeks). As far as crowds, those of us who care about Wildcat football need to continue to promote the program. Stop pining for the past and be persuasive for the guys (kids) we have in the program now. As far as the field goes, it was in much better shape than it was last year. Sad to see the turf go, but I am glad the stadium is finally getting a much needed upgrade.

But both helps. See what Kerr was able to accomplish at Union County. It can be done. Warren County just doesn't want it to happen.

I would agree. The Lady Tigers are a young group and should have a good year. Good luck on the rest of the season and for your girls to get/stay healthy.

They hung with Oak Ridge for about 2 1/2 quarters. Jada Guinn with a huge 2nd half, ended up with 31 pts.

Go down I-75 and exit at either Sweetwater or Athens and get to 27 that way. I have not had good success with either of those routes.

It's not much of an answer, but I have lived here for 16 years and the first round playoff games have always been poorly attended. I don't know why. I think there will be a good showing of our folks at Soddy tomorrow even though they have the worst visitor stands in East TN. (Yes, they are far, far away from the field). I will be there and bringing some with me.

Thank you Rhea. Many of us were waiting for our guys to pull together a good night. As far as the off-season goes, I hope the fans and powers that be will be patient through the ups and downs of a team. You guys have an excellent feeder program that will continue to produce guys that love to play football. Pemberton is a quality coach and you could do much worse than him. The young guys need to work hard and come ready to make their own mark on the program. Good luck on your off-season.

No. And hasn’t had one in quite a while. While the Sophomore should be a good one, he is pretty balanced between run and pass.

I would favor Powell in this one. They have the big play ability to put a couple of scores on West's defense. Their defense will handle West's offense. The game could come to down to turnovers and penalties like last year. I predict 21-3 Powell.

If everything stays as it is, I think we will be moved there. Of course, that is a big if. Something else to consider is whether the Knox County schools that moved up to 5A will want to stay there. The path to state in 5A is pretty crowded in East TN.

I know it's been an interesting discussion, but with Catholic moving to Division II, we will most likely be in a new region. This will result in a whole lot more than us not playing Sevier County. If they stay like they are now, we will need to fill 6 non-region games instead of the 4 we have now. I would favor 3 from Regions 1 or 2 and 3 from 6A or Alcoa.

And Crockett certainly belongs.
