  1. Smokey Bear fans are a little quiet this year even though their team is 3-1. I think they will try to throw it around on us, given DBs success in that area. Should be a great battle in the trenches, too. I'm looking forward to you guys playing hard and playing like champions this week. We should have a good crowd for our last home game for a month. Go Cats!!
  2. Here is a link from the Oak Ridger about Friday's game: Sevier County visits Oak Ridge Friday Go Cats!!!
  3. I agree, it's time for the administration to stand up and put and end to this nonsense. Whatever you might think about Coach Meadows, nothing deserves what I have read about. There needs to be ejections from the stadium, names taken and bans placed on the "adults" who are at fault. Also, it's time for the good people in the Blount County HS community to take a stand against this behavior. If someone is sitting near you and behaving badly, tell them to stop and if they don't stop get up, go to the cops and have them thrown out. If WB is ever to have a good sports program, then the time to take a stand is now.
  4. Bump yet again. Is SC going to air it out against our young secondary?
  5. Rebelron and others, What is the deal with William Blount? I thought all along they were probably overhyped, but right now they are not even competing. With the talent they have at running back why can't they generate more offensive? Is the defense that bad? Given the state of things (and Maryville staying focused) I say 42-0, Maryville.

  7. My suggestion is to start that question on another thread. I have hesitated to answer it on this thread because it would distract from the discussion on the game. Post it on its own thread and I will answer it FWIW. I would like a SC fan to break down their team by position and comment on it.
  8. BTW BHS, congratulations on the win over Karns. Obviously, you all are improving after a slow start.
  9. This is a game that will do Soddy no good. Bradley will lay down early and it will be ugly. 56-0 Soddy.
  10. Agree! I think our guys are doing a good job of taking what is in front of them. I like where we are right now, but we need to be playing some tougher competition. I would like to hear from Smokey Bear fans about how well their team is really doing this season.
  11. Time to get this thread started... Oak Ridge is coming off a very easy win over an improved Heritage team. Sevier County seems to be much better. Should be a tougher game than the last 2, which were blow outs. What say you?
  12. Good to know that Oak Ridge is not the only place with village idiots. Just a hint, you support the team, which includes players, coaches, etc.

Antwan, What's with Smith Co. getting no respect??? Of course, it's nice to be the underdog even when you are good. Sounds like you all have a good team and I hope the run continues.
  14. anyway....back to the game, Maryville, if they are focused like they were last week, should win big. Mo West has some size, but Maryville has size and speed. I see the Maryville vets getting revenge from last year's playoff loss, big time. Maryville 35 - Mo West 7, even in the wet. There Rebelraider, a prediction of total domination without being the hind end of a mule.
  15. I don't think anyone up here is expecting a repeat of last year's margins of victory. I thought all along that Soddy Daisy would probably be our toughest region game. I knew Ooltewah would be better, I just didn't think they would be this good this soon. As for the dominance part, I really don't care about dominating, I just want us to win.
  16. Well after a big weekend, I'm a little late on comments about the big game. Most everything that could be said has been said. One thing to point out about the game, I thought that the experience of DB really stood out as the game went on. They really abused our young secondary. I was really impressed with the crowd from DB, biggest visiting crowd in years from what I was told. I thought our guys played a gutsy game, especially when everyone started cramping. When we lost both our starting corners, the game was over. After all is said and done, DB is a very solid team with the best QB and receiver in the state. They will have no real competition in their Region and should go undefeated in the regular season. See ya in the quarterfinals! Oak Ridge now needs to buckle down and get to work. We have a lot of improving to do just to win our region which is much stronger this year. Now we move on to face Heritage. BTW, don't anybody even talk about beating Riverdale right now. Both teams are not even close to staying on the field with them.
  17. Should be Farragut in a walk. 28-7.
  18. Looks like no change to me.
  19. More info on the tailgate: The menu is BBQ, Chik-Fil-A (the real thing), or Hamburger with chips, drink & desert all for the small price of $5.00. Thanks again for spreading the word up there. We appreciate the QB club's invitation last year. The tailgate area is on the upper parking lot off of Kentucky Avenue. Go Wildcats!!
  20. What a game! Since I moved to TN 2 years ago, this has been the best games to watch by far. Here are some keys to the game as I see them. Oak Ridge 1) Make DB's high power offense work for their points. DB loves to go over the top, especially to #1. This game will be a tough one for our young defensive backs and safeties, but they have improved a lot over the first 2 games. We must limit yards-after-catch. 2) Oak Ridge must be able to run the ball and eat some clock. This leads to what I think is our greatest asset, our linemen. For the first time since I have been here, we have depth at the line of scrimmage. If we can keep it close, I like our chances in the 4th quarter. 3) Oak Ridge must keep DB off-balance with a mix of run and pass. We did a good job of that last year. Scott McMahon must be on his game with his passes; so far this season he has. 4) Special teams must take care of the ball. I really liked what I am seeing this year from our special teams. Punt and kick returns from Revel and Landon were a great weapon in our blow out against BC. Dobyns-Bennet 1) Shut down Oak Ridge's running game. DB wins this one if they force the Wildcats to beat them with the passing game. 2) Establish some sort of running game to keep Oak Ridge honest. It's hard to win the big games being one-dimensional. 3) Spread the ball around. With a young secondary, someone is bound to be open. 4) Protect the QB. One of the keys to our victory in the playoffs is that we were able to get some pressure on the QB. The pass protection in the regular season game was superb. I know there are more keys, but I think these are the main ones. That said, I think this game will be won or lost in the trenches. DB will find out in a hurry that they don't have the monopoly on speed, especially at the line of scrimmage. However, both teams have in other their first quality opponent. Whatever happens Friday night, both teams probably still have a lot to work on as they get into the heart of their schedules. It promises to be a blast, so get there early! The SHIP is THE place to be this coming Friday for football in East TN! BTW, Tribewarrior45, join us at the tailgate up on top of the hill, if you can make it early enough.
  21. This was covered 2 years ago. Follow this link: http://boards.coacht.com/index.php?showtop...ndpost&p=141173
  22. I'm not Dave but you can listen to the voice of the Wildcats on AM 1290.
  23. Rhea and Anderson County both get my vote. Both are teams to be recond with this year. Watch out 3 and 4A in East TN!
