Sylvester Gray was on those mid 80s teams. Former UT player Lang Wiseman was on the 89 team. The late 70's team had a guy that played at Ole Miss. Can't remember his name.

I am showing my age in this thread. Those Bolton teams in the late 70 and the 80s were really good. I remember them beating a good Alcoa team in 1979 by 40. Some of those Alcoa guys told me they never seen anything like Bolton.

I think Fulton will win 3A again.

22,23 and 2 are sophomores. That is really exciting.

Maryville looked really good in beating the defending 2A State Champion Alcoa 80-54. Every player for Maryville played well. If I was a coach from ETSU,Tennessee Tech,UT Chattanooga,UT Martin,Austin Peay or other small colleges in Tennessee I would be offering Alex Akard right now. That kid can play. He caused Alcoa to miss a bunch of shots last night. He can pass the ball well also. Maryville Basketball will be darn good the next few seasons. Jonathon Woodley is a stud. He has a great shot to be a D1 player one day.

I went to the Maryville vs Hardin Valley game tonight. I can see why Maryville is winning. Jonathon Woodley is a stud. Heck of a point guard and breaks defenses down. Alex Akard is a good ballplayer. What really excites me is Maryville is really young. They only play 2 seniors. Akard will be a huge loss after this season. He affected a lot of shots tonight.

Just saw on Twitter that Maryville 8th grade team is 22 0 this year. Future looks bright. Is STARS offering Basketball players free garbage service?

Wes Lambert is a good young coach. What will help him the most is his dad is a volunteer assistant. Randy Lambert was a legend at Maryville College.

Proud of Maryville season so far. Every loss was to a great team. Maryville is a sophomore dominated team. they will be good the next few years.

With the right guy they can challenge Alcoa. Lots of athletes in the Austin East community. I remember too well how good they were during the Sam Anderson years.

Fulton is really good. Those guards they have are hard to handle.

I think Maryville will be better next year. Having Will Jones for 3 more years is huge.

Big win last night for Maryville

Maryville will find out a lot about themselves the next 4 games. Catholic tonight. Fulton tommorrow followed by Alcoa and Brentwood Academy.

Maryville's district is one of the best in the state. William Blount,Bearden,West,Farragut and Hardin Valley are tough teams.

Maryville is unbeaten with 2 wins over Sevier County. What excites me is Maryville plays a bunch of sophomores.

#10 for Houston is a stud. Houston won the battle up front. Very impressed with the Houston team.

Jack Jones played well until his injuries ruined his career.

I was shocked that Upperman beat Greeneville. I watched the replay of the Greeneville vs Upperman game. It wasn't a fluke. Upperman is really good. They dominated the LOS on both sides. I hope this game is a close one. Can't wait to see it.
