  1. Thank You Bluedevilfan100 and VHSFalconfan2, My former players , coaches and I appreciate your compliments. Wherever I go they will all be welcome, the FAMILY is lifelong. We are all excited about the opportunity to build another successful program. We are having our 3 on 3 league on mondays and thursdays from 6-9 for a few more weeks. Any supporters are welcome to come by and visit and I can keep you updated. Hey Floor_mat22 you can even come by and introduce yourself. Stokomo where you at bro?
  2. You are 100 percent correct Coach Mo(Waco Jaco reference- I think he is a genius). I have the upmost respect for you as a man and a coach. Your son Jeff is as nice and classy as any young man that I have come in contact with. Again thank you for jump starting the VHS basketball program. It was nothing before you got there. I hope that I have continued to carry the tradition. Travis Morelock is right up there as one of the best assistants that i have had. He has unbelievable heart.
  3. Hey floor_mat22 this is coach Whitt. Coach Mo45 is Coach Morrisson who coach at VHS before I arrived here 11 seasons ago. By the way coach Mo Thank You for starting the winning tradition and mindset at VHS I think that really led to the early success of the program when I first got there from Groves high in inner city Savannah GA. I have listened to this clown floor-mop22 for years and finally have to say a few things to this special person. Friday I went to SC to trade my car in for another one that I got a really good deal on. Thanks to cars.com.It was my girlfriend that I was with not my ex. She is now remarried. This is just another example of how you dont know what you are talking about but you get on here and spread rumors, rookie opinions, lies and then hide behind your screen name like a subway RAT. Since you have had such a problem with me over the years why didnt you come up to me introduce yourself and ask me some questions face to face. Oh thats right you are a lying COWARD! Instead you hide in your vehicle, probably crouching down so you were not seen. I LOVE 99.9 percent of my former players! (except for a couple from this years team) I have been Blessed to have worked with some great, loyal and hard working assistant coaches. My former players regularly scout games, watch games on tv and attend my yearly summer picnic in July. Last summer We had 31 players show up. How many other coaches do that ? How many other coaches care about the relationships they have built with their players long after they are done playing. My college coach taught me that, to this day he is like a father figure and a best friend and I try to carry that on with my players. Did you know that fg22? Why dont you ever bring up how much I Love my players and how much they Love me? Who have you gone to battle with, sweat with, cried with and came out the other side loving each other? My players are taught to compete and to play physical within the rules. I teach them not to give up their lunch money but to give everything they have. Not to play dirty. When we break it down with "Family" We mean it. These Players and Coaches have helped this program with 175 wins, 4 banners and 7 20 or more win seasons in 11 years. Even Coach Mo has to respect that. Stats really dont mean crap to me but Im sure they do to you. What matters to me is the relationships that I have built with my players and coaches. Former players, the NBA playoffs start on Sat so holla if You want to come by and watch some games. Dont forget our picnic on sat july 10th. And fg22 my name is Todd Whittemore who are you? What have done? How many young men have you tried to prepare for the future? and I guess most of whats your name again? Scared?
  4. The student in question is now under arrest. Great job local Law Enforcement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EVERYONE is SAFE!!!!!!
  5. 6 hours of lockdown so far. ALL of the students are safe.
  6. Waco, you are kinda coming accross as a "Redneck" apologist. Stokomo where r u?
  7. I know for a FACT that J.R. is the 13th Disciple!! Nobody can build a birdhouse, train a Tennesee Moutain Walking horse, create a positive winning attitude in basketball and walk on water like he can. Besides why would brother give up the head girls job and A.D. job at Boone? The world needs MORE leaders like JR Campbell! Besides, there is nothing wrong with being a little crazy when you have a good heart.
  8. Most tournaments that teams play in count as 2 games before the season starts. Usually they play 2 , 3 or 4 games but in the Bahamas sometimes you can play 6 games. If you add the 2 Hall of Champions games then that probably is why they have so many. Not a fact just a good guess.
  9. Waco > Do You write for Letterman? Barb > I think that I have a crush on you.
  10. Volunteer by 7. If I lose I will shave my head.............
  11. Congrats to Omar for putting himself in a position to have an opportunity to let basketball pay for a college education. Thats what its about, getting it done athletically and academically. Everybody has had some good input on this topic so here is mine. Individually, Omar and Wiggins are the 2 best college prospects in the region. Omar has improved his size, strength, ball handling and shooting and I would assume that Wiggins has also. Wattad gets the advantage because he can create his own shot. Just look who gets the ball and spreads the floor at the end of any quarter when SH has the ball. If he cant score himself he draws the help and kicks to open teamates. I love Wiggins game but as of last year Wiggins needed someone to get him the ball whether it was in the post or for 3's. In most games Omar is the best talent on the on the floor and he has to get his teamates involed if he wants to win games.(Which I think he will.) I am interested in seeing how Omar reacts when he is the least talented player on the floor, when he is playing with 4 horses better than him. Some players thrive (usually the ones who can dribble and pass to involve those horses.) and others fall back out of the picture intimidated. None of us know what will happen next year for Omar but it should be interesting to see how he reacts in his new situation. God luck to him! And Stokomo, just because you played point for DB and were one of the best players in the area doesnt mean every gaurd that comes through there is also. Coty is probably top 5 in the Region but not better than Omar or Wiggins.(right now.)

  13. Did she say fear or Stalker? and did she say Larry or Steve? Thank you Danielle for everything that you have done for the school, the Team and for me. I really appreciate everything that you did. Every school needs more students like you that really care about their school. P.S. I really like those new sporty vents you had put in on the side of your car. Cutting edge stuff man.
  14. Both Teams have Great Coaches . East has Athleticism, Unicoi has great fundamentals. I don't know about East but, I do know that Unicoi has Great CHEMISTRY and thats why I give them the edge even on the road. I also thought that Unicoi hosted a fine District and Region tournaments. We were treated with nothing but class(except for that lady in the hospitality room-just kidding) That A.D. Cooper really had everything worked out. Blue Devils, English, Smitty and all the fellas, The Falcons wish you the best of luck. Keep it rolling together, you have that advantage!!
  15. I Don't think Rockwood can simulate what its going to be like in Unaka's Gym. That is what a Basketball enviornment should be like! They have great fans. Unaka's Coaches have their TEAM playing their BEST ball at the right time and I have confidence that those Seniors know how and want to get back to the State Tourney!! Those guys have been taught how to coach on the floor. Good luck on Monday then hopefully we will see you on Wednesday March 16th for the first round of the State Tournament!!! The Falcon Players and Coaches have your back!! We are rooting for you guys! Especially Big John - get ready to gas that bus up for the Long trip.

  18. Part of the reason is that the Times News only covers about 1 of every 5 games that we play and when we call them in and clarify on the spelling they still get it WRONG! Keep up the good work STOKOMO!
  19. Jacob & Large Al, Thank you guys for a great memory from tonights game! Congrats Jacob for your 1,000 points! Job well done & I hope you still have some more ammo in your gun, there are a lot of games still left! Alex, thank you for your 4 years of loyalty, dedication & HEART! You are a great example & I am so proud of what you were able to do tonight! This is one of the greatest basketball memories that I have had or will have. Draining three in a row with EVERYONE on the edge of their seats was BEAUTIFUL!!!!! Thanks to Whalen for the suggestion! As earlier stated, no one can take tonights memories from you guys or from me!!!!! Go Falcons!!! thumb
  20. Pickett County plays tough & smart. They are well coached & have several leaders on the floor. Playing Pickett and Clay County this past weekend really has helped the Volunteer program. Thanks!!
  21. Whalen says the Irish by a field goal. He is currently painting his body green.
  22. Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To the Unaka Rangers - The Coaches, Players, parents and fans all deserve a great accomplishment like winning the State Championship in Boys Basketball. We at Volunteer could'nt be prouder of you guys. I remember these seniors sweating blood every summer in Basketball Bootcamp! (Lipscomb)Looks like all that hard work your coaches put you through paid off. Your program is a great example of how hard work, dedication, unselfishness and toughness can lead to great things! Automatic!!! Enjoy your championship you All deserve it.
  23. Hey Rusty forget that stuff for now, everyone knows you are a CLASS act. Just get you and your teamates heads on straight so you will WIN on Wednesday. The Volunteer program is rooting for you guys and we know that you and your coaches can get the job done. We will be there watching and showing our support for you. Tried to call the school this morning to wish you guys luck but that office phone stays busy. Tell the Ensors we got your back in Da Boro! Good luck RANGERS!!!!!!!!!!!! Whitt
  24. I wanted to Thank Everyone who has given our program the upmost respect and support over the last few years. Our fans are GREAT and they help the TEAM play better. This years fan base has been the largest in my 5 years at VHS and still growing! 99% of our fans have been very loyal and have given the players and coaches nothing but support!!!!!To those fans I thank, appreciate and salute you!! To the negative 1%(It's obvious who you are)-We did win 20 games with a tough schedule and were Watauga Conference Co-Champions after being picked to finish 3rd. The glass can be considered half full with our youth. EVERYONE is dissapointed in how our season ended ESPECIALLY the PLAYERS and the COACHES! They have given up so much in the last year so that wouldn't happen again. The bottom line is we didn't close the deal and the head coach takes responsibility for that. After coaching 5 years in Inner City Savannah in 4A,(making it to the State tournament for the first time in 17 years) and 5 years at Voulunteer 2A(2 District Championships & 2 Watauga Conference Titles) I have never coached a funner group of young men. We had ups and downs but I think that the FAMILY that ended the season enjoyed the journey. A HUGE thanks goes out to my Coaches (Smith, Stokomo & Reed) & to my Players!!!! (3 great Seniors & tons of potential in our underclassman) Also to my right hand man Alex No one could ever question your heart and dedication to our team. Anything we accomplished we did it together, and I thank you all for being my Tennesse FAMILY! Seniors>(Porter/JC/Matt)Good luck to you & when things in life get tough remember how you never gave up in basketball, winninng in basketball prepares you to win in life. Refuse to lose! Don't settle! Always give your best! Never Quit!! Underclassmen>Nothing will change unless YOU do something about it! If you want MORE for this family for next MARCH then you better start working for it this April. It has to be a collective effort, 1 great player does not make a Team or gaurantee a single win. Great Teams win Championships and the seniors have left some holes to fill. Those who work the Hardest are the Last to Surrender!!!! One final remark: I Love the Unaka Rangers = Their Coaches, players and parents are 1st class and the Volunteer program wishes you only Success!!! Notice I didn't say fans because JR Campbell is one and I didn't know if you guys wanted to claim him? Thanks for our great radio coverage all season Tony C & Brian T you guys are awesome, positive and always put the kids first. (I still can't understand though, if you were gonna miss a couple of games why the Bahamas ones, what are you guys nuts?) Thanks again Players, Coaches, the loyal Parents, Madeline & Virgil, Roy, Ron, Whalen and ALL of our GREAT FALCON FANS! With much appreciation, Head Coach Todd Whittemore Volunteer Falcons Basketball
